Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments that use multiple, belt-steering systems to control and maintain alignment of an endless belt. The position of the edge of the belt is measured by multiple belt edge sensors and then corrected by at least two steering rollers connected to corresponding steering mechanisms. The steering mechanisms tilt the rollers in order to selectively adjust the lateral position of the belt. Steering can be controlled independently with the tilt of each steering roller being adjusted based solely on information obtain from a corresponding belt edge sensor. Alternatively, steering can be controlled dependently with the tilt of each steering roller being adjusted based on information obtain from multiple sensors at multiple locations and further based on the predictable impact of the simultaneous movement of both rollers on belt positioning. In addition, at least one of the steering rollers can also be configured as a drive roller.

Abstract: A preferred embodiment reproduces an image by receiving an input contone array of M contone data values. The contone data values may lie within a range from 1 to N. The embodiment includes comparing each contone data value to an array of M sets of pattern look-up tables to generate an array of M pattern values. M may be a number of one or more. Each pattern value in the array of M pattern values may be decoded to a corresponding K by L multi-pixel pattern of binary data. The binary data is rendered by a reprographic device.
Abstract: Present systems and methods enable digital color printers to consistently print color output from computer generated image data that includes spot color definitions. Colors that are defined as spot colors can be separated from colors that are defined as combinations of process colors. Accordingly, color corrections can be separately applied to objects that are defined by spot color definitions to provide customized image processing that provides printed color images with improved quality.
Abstract: An electronic paper system includes: electronic paper having a display unit that can display and retain an image in a no-power state; image generation means for generating a displaying image by combining a scale-down image of at least a part of a document and an image of at least part of related information of the document; and write means for writing the generated displaying image into the display unit of the electronic paper so that the display unit displays and retains the generated displaying image.
Abstract: A polymer comprising one or more types of repeat units, wherein the polymer includes a substituted thieno[3,2-b]thiophene component A and a different component B in the same type of repeat unit or in different types of repeat units, and wherein the polymer excludes a substituted or unsubstituted thieno[2,3-b]thiophene moiety. The polymer can be used as a semiconductor in electronics such as in organic thin film transistors.
