Abstract: Systems and methods of controlling the width of one or more image objects in a digital image are provided which determine if one or more image objects include a line or an edge. If the image includes a line, it is processed using a line width control algorithm to modify its width. If the image includes an edge, it is processed using an edge growth control module which processes it differently than a line to modify the edge in the image object.

Abstract: A magenta electrostatic developing toner includes binder resin particles that do not contain a coloring agent or a release agent and has a shape factor SF1 of about 110 or less, the number of the binder resin particles being about 50 or less per 5,000 electrostatic developing toner particles; and inorganic particles that have a median diameter of about 5 nm to about 70 nm in an amount of about 0.01 mass % to about 0.4 mass % based on the mass of the electrostatic developing toner; and a magenta coloring agent that has an azo group.
Abstract: In accordance with the invention, there are media feeding assemblies and methods of making a roll of a media feeding assembly. The method can include providing a soluble carbon nanotube composition, providing a first elastomeric rubber composition, and mixing the soluble carbon nanotube composition with the first elastomeric rubber composition to form a composite rubber composition, such that the soluble carbon nanotubes are substantially uniformly dispersed in the composite rubber composition. The method can also include applying the composite rubber composition to a mold and curing the composite rubber composition to form a composite rubber tire, such that the substantially uniformly dispersed soluble carbon nanotubes in the composite rubber tire provide at least about 10% decrease in wear.
Abstract: The present disclosure describes a system and method for controlling the post-marking heaters and ink spreading nip rollers employed for spreading the ink dots on the media web to provide the desired image quality. The technique employs a sensor for sensing single pixel linewidth and showthru sensor to sense showthru of the ink. The sensor outputs are combined with the temperature and pressure values of the ink spreading nips to provide an error signal to a PID controller for controlling the nip pressure and heater temperature.

Abstract: A method for utilizing a graphical user interface for concurrent programming of multiple feature operations to a single production job in a controller for a production system includes presenting options on the user interface for the selection of job properties or queue properties, with queue properties defined as default values for the virtual device to which the job will be submitted and job properties defined as job feature selection options. The job feature selection options may be hidden or displayed to enable the selection of valid job feature combinations only. Toggle controls are utilized for job feature options whose operation is limited by previously selected job feature options. The application of any valid combination of selected job feature options on the completed production job is illustrated on a dynamic graphic.

Abstract: A cleaning device removes a toner attached to an image carrier of an electrophotographic-type image forming apparatus. The cleaning device includes a cleaning blade, a housing and a block member. The cleaning blade is in contact with a surface of the image carrier to removes the toner. The housing stores the toner removed by the cleaning blade. The block member causes the toner to temporarily remain the toner in a vicinity of a distal end of the cleaning blade. The block member is formed of a sheet-shaped elastic member. One side of the block member is fixed to the housing. A repulsive force against bending in an end portion of the block member in a longitudinal direction is substantially smaller than a repulsive force against bending in a center portion of the block member.
