Publication number: 20100080596Abstract: An adaptive approach is described that maximizes xerographic transfer efficiency, i.e. minimizes post toner image transfer residual mass, in response to changes in operational conditions, variations in material, and/or changes in other factors that may otherwise adversely affect xerographic transfer efficiency. The described approach may be used during a set up phase, or startup phase, of a xerographic system to determine an initial transfer field that provides a desired level of toner image transfer efficiency. The described approach may also be used in real time to dynamically adjust a transfer field to maintain a desired level of transfer efficiency. The described approach allows optimal toner image transfer efficiency to be achieved despite changes in the operational environments, and/or changes in the materials, e.g., paper, toner, etc., being processed.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2008Publication date: April 1, 2010Applicant: XEROX CORPORATIONInventors: Eric M. Publication number: 20100079771Abstract: As provided herein, there are supplied teachings to systems and methods for resizing a halftone image using halftone tile parameters. One approach entails receiving into a digital imaging system, a digital halftone image and a desired resizing factor for that digital halftone image. The system will then define cells within the digital halftone image and determine from those cells, a number of halftone tile seams to suitable for manipulation. The orientation of these halftone tile seams is dictated by the received desired resizing factor. The seam energy of these halftone tile seams is then determined according to an energy metric so as to provide indication of a number of low energy determined halftone tile seams. The number of low energy seams identified is sufficient to achieve the desired resizing factor. A resizing of the halftone image is then performing by iteratively deleting the low energy determined halftone tile seams within the halftone image.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2008Publication date: April 1, 2010Applicant: XEROX CORPORATIONInventors: Edgar Bernal, Robert P. Publication number: 20100080927Abstract: A method feeds a continuous core of a print cartridge cleaning blade along a path. The path passes, in the following order, firstly through a coating bath or spray coating station, secondly by a curing station, thirdly through a cutter, and fourthly to a finisher station. Thus, the method herein coats portions of the continuous core that are in the coating bath/spray station with an outer covering. For portions of the continuous core that are adjacent the curing station, the method cures the outer covering of the continuous core; for portions of the continuous core that are in the cutter, the method cuts the continuous core into predetermined lengths; and for portions of the predetermined lengths of the continuous core that are adjacent the finishing station, the method finishes the outer covering of the predetermined lengths of the continuous core to produce a finished print cartridge cleaning blade.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2008Publication date: April 1, 2010Applicant: XEROX CORPORATIONInventors: Jeffrey M. Publication number: 20100082287Abstract: This application generally relates to methods and systems for detecting spectrophotometer misalignment. In particular, the application may characterize the noise of a spectral measurement relative to a reference substrate known to exhibit a generally linear (flat) spectral output over a known spectrum. From the spectral measurement, a linear regression may be performed on a portion of the spectral output to determine a best fit line and a correlation of determination (“R-squared value”) may be determined correlated the measured data to the best fit line. Finally, the R squared value may be compared to a predetermined threshold R squared value to determine if the sensor is misaligned beyond an acceptable amount. If so, an alert may be generated.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2008Publication date: April 1, 2010Applicant: XEROX CORPORATIONInventors: Paul S. BONINO, Timothy J. Sulenski
