Abstract: An ink delivery system of an inkjet printer selectively injects flushing fluid into a supply tube for ink into a printhead to form a mixture of flushing fluid and ink prior to a period of inactivity for the printhead. The ratio of the flushing fluid to the ink is determined by a controller using environmental conditions, ink characteristics, and a duration for the period of inactivity.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a print mechanism, an obtaining unit that obtains measurement information of gradation characteristics of the print mechanism for a specific color material, and a generating unit that generates correction information for a print density of the specific color material in accordance with the measurement information. The correction information specifies that a corrected density with respect to an input density increases monotonically in a range of densities from a correction start density to a maximum density, and the correction start density is determined in accordance with a density where gradation starts to attenuate in the measurement information.

Abstract: A printer includes a plurality of dot clock signal generators, each of which generates dot clock signals for operating ejectors in a printhead in a color station of the printer. Each dot clock signal generator is configured to count dot clock signals of a preceding dot clock signal generator in the chain or a reference clock generator to determine when the dot clock signal generator turns on and to count encoder signals corresponding to movement of a substrate through the printer to determine when to generate dot clock signals for a color station.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of adjusting a plurality of optical elements associated with a printing system Laser Imaging Module (LIM). According to one exemplary embodiment, sensitivity analysis is performed on a computer model of the LIM system and an optical element alignment sequence is generated to minimize the number of optical element adjustments needed to achieve a predefined LIM performance.
Abstract: A roller for a transport belt of a vacuum transport assembly includes an elongate cylindrical body adapted for a rotatably fixed connection to a vacuum transport assembly. An outer surface of the roller defines a hollow inner channel, which extends along an axial region of the body. The outer surface is a running surface for a transport belt. An inlet at one end of the hollow inner channel receives air from an air source. Perforations are formed in the outer surface for allowing air pressure to be discharged from the hollow inner channel toward the transport belt. The air diffuses through the transport belt to detack a sheet from the transport belt.

Abstract: A cooling system comprising of a coolant manifold, a heat sink configured to fit in the coolant manifold, a plurality of cooling fins formed in the heat sink, and a coolant configured to flow through the coolant manifold to the heat sink. Diamond shaped pin fins associated with the heat sink create a series of divergent fluid paths for the cooling fluid that helps to create turbulence and improved heat transfer.

Abstract: A terminal management apparatus includes a first connection unit, a second connection unit, a setup information management unit, and a communication controller. The first connection unit is connectable to a terminal apparatus via a wireless communication link. The terminal apparatus serves as a target being managed. The second connection unit is connectable to the terminal apparatus via at least one of a wireless communication link and a wired communication line using a connection path different from a connection path used by the first connection unit. The setup information management unit obtains and manages setup information used for establishing a connection with the terminal apparatus, from the terminal apparatus via the first connection unit. Abstract: A multi-nozzle extrusion printhead includes a chamber with an inlet to receive an extrusion material and a plurality of outlets fluidly coupled to the chamber. The printhead also includes a plurality of valves that control flow of extrusion material through the fluid outlets to nozzles in the printhead. Each valve includes a member and an electromechanical actuator configured to move the member to a first position to block a flow of the extrusion material through one of the fluid outlets and nozzles and to a second position to enable the flow of the extrusion material through the fluid outlet and nozzles.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating an overview for videos by reconstructing a representation of underlying content and linking from points in the overview to specific points in the video. Mechanisms are provided to create three different types of navigable overviews for different types of how-to and instructional videos. A two-dimensional overview is generated when content is two-dimensional, such as instructional videos on electronic whiteboard or other flat content. The three-dimensional overview is created when the content is three-dimensional, such as how-to videos illustrating the use of specific three-dimensional tangible articles. In three-dimensional case, when 3D model is available, the video segments are directly linked to corresponding points on the model. When a model is not available, a rough overview is first created from the captured video and camera orientation metadata.
