Abstract: A proxy logger is a proxy or gateway between a Semantic Query/Certification tool and a Multifunction device, such as a multifunction printer. A user specifies the beginning and end points of a specific operation and the proxy logger records network requests and decrypts/encrypts the traffic. The proxy logger and SQCT logs the results for later consumption. Using this method the Semantic Query/Certification tool may generate a certification report or enumerate how a semantic operation is performed for different models of MFDs. The output of the log will be used to build device management profile for the MFD.
Abstract: An electrostatic-image developing toner includes toner particles including a binder resin including an amorphous resin including a polyester resin segment and a styrene acrylate resin segment and a release agent. The content of 1-amino-2-methoxybenzene in the electrostatic-image developing toner is 200 ppm by mass or less.
Abstract: A management apparatus includes an assignment unit, a receiver, and a storage unit. The assignment unit assigns issuance privilege key information representing privilege to issue document IDs to one or more processing apparatuses. Each of the one or more processing apparatuses is located on one of local networks and is configured to execute a protection process to generate a protected document from a document. The receiver receives from the one or more processing apparatuses document IDs issued for protected documents by the one or more processing apparatuses. The storage unit stores the document IDs received by the receiver. Each of the document IDs includes the issuance privilege key information assigned by the assignment unit to the one or more processing apparatuses, and information indicating identity of a document ID issued by one of the one or more processing apparatuses.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus as a first apparatus includes an image forming unit that forms an image onto a recording medium, a memory that stores first and second information, and a correcting unit that corrects an image formation position by the image forming unit in accordance with the first or second information. The first information is for correcting misregistration between a print position in the first apparatus and a print position in a second image forming apparatus as a second apparatus when an image is formed by the first apparatus and an image is subsequently formed by the second apparatus. The second information is for correcting misregistration between the print positions in the second and first apparatuses when an image is formed by the first apparatus, an image is subsequently formed by the second apparatus, and then an image is formed by the first apparatus.
Abstract: An image forming system includes a first image forming apparatus and a second image forming apparatus. The first image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit that at least forms an image of a first color. The second image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit that forms an image of a second color different from a color of an image formed by the image forming unit of the first image forming apparatus, and also includes an image forming unit that forms an image of the first color. The first image forming apparatus and the second image forming apparatus use the first color to form positional-adjustment images for adjusting image formation positions between the first image forming apparatus and the second image forming apparatus.
Abstract: A display device includes a screen, first and second projectors, a detector, and a controller. The screen has first and second surfaces. The first projector projects a first horizontally non-inverted image as viewed from the first surface. The second projector projects a second horizontally non-inverted image as viewed from the second surface. The detector detects a person at least viewing one of the first and second surfaces. The controller controls switching of an operation between the first and second projectors in accordance with a detection result of the detector.
Abstract: There is provided an information processing apparatus. An internal storage unit encrypts a data encryption key used for encryption of data to an encrypted data encryption key and stores the encrypted key. A first verification unit verifies validity of its own external storage unit on the basis of identification information acquired from the external storage unit that stores backup data regarding the EDEK and the identification information of the external storage unit. Another verification unit verifies validity of the backup data stored in the external storage unit.
Abstract: A method and system for preventing a printed sensitive or secured print job being left unsecured after a print recovery process by determining if a printer has encountered an interruption in a printing of a print job; determining, when it is determined that a printer has encountered an interruption in a printing of a print job, an identification of a user associated with the interrupted print job; obtaining an authentication code and sending the obtained authentication code to the user identified as being associated with the interrupted print job; recovering from the interruption in the printing of the print job; placing, after recovery, the interrupted print job on hold; determining if a proper authentication code has been received from the user identified as being associated with the interrupted print job; and releasing the held print job when it is determined that a proper authentication code has been received from the user identified as being associated with the interrupted print job.

Abstract: A relay apparatus includes a storage, request data reception and transmission units, a mode data reception unit, a specified condition conversion unit, a content identifier reception unit, a generation unit, and a display data transmission unit. The storage stores a service identifier, access destination information, and a conversion routine for the format of a specified condition specifying content, for each of storage services. The request data reception unit receives a service identifier and a specified condition from a client apparatus. The mode data reception unit receives mode data specifying a client apparatus display format. The specified condition conversion unit converts the specified condition into a server format, which is transmitted by the request data transmission unit using access destination information. Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a developing device. The developing device transports a two-component developer by a transporting unit so that the two-component developer passes through a developing roller. The two-component developer is stored in a storage chamber provided with a transporting path. The transporting unit rotates in the transporting path. The developing device causes a portion of the two-component developer to overflow from a discharge port provided at the transporting path, and to discharge the two-component developer. The image forming apparatus has a period in which a first operation is executed, the first operation of reversely rotating the transporting unit at a high speed so that a rotational direction of the transporting unit is an opposite direction to that at a time of development and a rotational speed of the transporting unit is higher than that at the time of development.

Abstract: A method of making a composite feed material for fused deposition modeling (FDM) is disclosed. The method comprises providing composite particles made by a process of emulsion aggregation, the composite particles comprising at least one thermoplastic polymer and at least one carbon particle material. A composite feed material is formed for fused deposition modeling from the composite particles. The composite feed material is in a form selected from a filament and a paste.

Abstract: A transport device includes a first belt member, a second belt member, a first roller, a second roller, a third roller, a fourth roller, a fifth roller, and a sixth roller. The second belt member is in contact with the first belt member to form a contact portion in cooperation with the first belt member.
