Abstract: An image analyzer for detecting a target object from image data, includes a reference detection unit, a primary detection unit, a secondary detection unit and an output unit. The reference detection unit detects a reference object included in the image data. The primary detection unit detects candidates for the target object from the image data. The secondary detection unit specifies a portion including the target object from among the candidates, by using a correlation between a feature of the detected reference object and a feature of the candidates. The output unit outputs information representing the portion including the target object specified by the secondary detection unit.
Abstract: An image processor is provided with an acquisition unit; a discriminating unit; a decomposing unit; and a rearranging unit. The acquisition unit acquires image data and layout information of an original document which are obtained by reading the original document in which the layout information is recorded in advance. The discriminating unit discriminates number of logical pages in the original document, an arranged order of the logical pages, and orientation of the original document, based on the layout information. The decomposing unit decomposes the image data into the logical pages, based on the result of the discriminating. The rearranging unit rearranges the decomposed logical pages according to a predetermined output layout, and outputs image data in which the logical pages has been rearranged.

Abstract: A method is provided for transferring print data from a host computer to a printer connected to the host. According to the method, a transfer rate determiner of the host determines the data transfer rate of the interface between the host and the printer. Before the print data is transferred from the host to the printer, the data compress/decompress time by several compression methods is estimated. Also, the data transfer time for the compressed print data is estimated. These times are added to provide a total data process time. Meanwhile, data transfer time for non-compressed print data is estimated. The total data process time for the compressed data and the data transfer time for the non-compressed data are compared to determine the most efficient print data transfer scheme.
