  • Patent number: 7221897
Abstract: A method for plastic sheet manufacturing whereby a layered body including a film is made to pass through a nip portion formed by a pair of belts, each having a joint portion, causing the layered body to be integrated to manufacture a plastic sheet. Before integration, the position of each of the joint portions is detected and the timing at which the layered body enters the nip portion is controlled in accordance with the detected positions. A plastic sheet manufacturing apparatus implements the plastic sheet manufacturing method.

  • Patent number: 7221479
Abstract: A method for halftoning an image, including receiving image data including a plurality of color separations and comparing image data for first, second, third, and fourth separations to first, second, third, and fourth halftone screens. The screens are characterized by first, second, third, and fourth pairs of frequency vectors, respectively. The fourth pair of frequency vectors is identical to one of the first, second, and third pairs of frequency vectors. Further, the first, second, third, and fourth screens have an associated fill-in sequence, where the fill-in sequence of the fourth screen is such that overlap between the separation corresponding to the fourth screen and the separation corresponding to the one of the first, second, and third screens to which the fourth screen has an identical pair of frequency vectors does not occur until a combined dot area coverage of the separations is greater than 100%.

  • Patent number: 7221893
Abstract: In an image forming apparatus such as a color laser printer wherein a toner image is transferred onto a continuous paper, one or more of a exposure timing of each exposure device, a rotation speed of each image carrier device, a transfer bias voltage applied to each transfer device, and a wrap amount of each wrap device are controlled based on a coverage of a toner image formed on each image carrier device, thereby preventing a color-to-color registration state which tends to be caused due to a variation in the transport speed of the continuous paper in a transfer process.

  • Patent number: 7221817
Abstract: A substantially straight beam in an unbuckled state is compressed to cause the beam to buckle using an adjustable compressor. The adjustable compressor applies force to one or both ends of the beam and limits compression on the beam to allow the beam to move between a first buckled state and a second buckled state. The first buckled state and the second buckled state comprise substantially equal magnitude and opposite direction buckling movements from the unbuckled state.

  • Patent number: 7219973
Abstract: The present invention provides an image-forming device that can record an image onto a rewritable image recording medium. Prior to recording a predetermined image, the medium is set and a test image for measuring the density is recorded thereon. When the density is determined to be within an allowable range, the predetermined image is recorded under certain image recording conditions and then discharged to a discharging tray. However, should the density be outside the allowable range, the conditions are changed and another test image is recorded to the medium. If after repeated density measurements the density is not within an allowable range, the device determines that the medium is defective and discharges it to an error tray.

  • Publication number: 20070109602
Abstract: A method and system reconstructs a contone image from a binary image by first tagging pixels to identify one of a multiplicity of image content types. The tag information and the pattern of bits surrounding the pixel to be converted to a contone value are used to reconstruct a contone image from a binary image. The pattern of bits in the neighborhood is used to generate a unique identifier. The unique identifier is used as the address for a lookup table with the contone value to be used. A filter also generates a contone value. A selector selects between the look-up table contone value and the filter contone value based an image context type.

  • Publication number: 20070109585
Abstract: An image processing device includes a judgement section and a generation section. A latent image, which would be retained or eliminated by photocopying, is to be superposed with machine-readable code images, which are encoded supplementary information, to generate a superposed image. The judgement section judges overlapping of the latent image with the machine-readable code images. The generation section, on the basis of judgement results from the judgement section, determines an arrangement of the machine-readable code images and generates the superposed image.
