Abstract: There is provided an image forming device which has an opening/closing portion rotatably mounted to a device main body, and at which plural cartridges accommodated in the device main body can be exposed due to the opening/closing portion being rotated. In the image forming device, a portion of an outer peripheral surface of a belt, which is provided at the opening/closing portion, is positioned at a cartridge side of the opening/closing portion. An opposing member is provided at the opening/closing portion so as to oppose the portion of the outer peripheral surface of the belt. A guide portion, which guides the opposing member such that the opposing member can slide with respect to the device main body, is provided at the device main body.
Abstract: Disclosed is a sheet discharging apparatus in which an apparatus main body portion is provided with plural discharging rollers for discharging sheets by rotation, and a shaft coaxially fixed to the discharging rollers. The shaft has an outer diameter smaller than an outer diameter of the discharging roller. At the discharging roller side of the shaft is provided a small-diameter portion, with the outer diameter of the small-diameter portion smaller than the outer diameter of another portion. A projection projects from a portion of the apparatus main body portion, a tip end of the projection being disposed in a step between the small-diameter portion and the other portion of the shaft. Also disclosed is an image forming apparatus having the sheet discharging apparatus, in which an image is formed on a sheet, and the sheet on which the image is formed is discharged by the sheet discharging apparatus.
Abstract: The present invention provides an electrostatic latent image developing toner including a binding resin having an acidic polar group, a magnetic powder, and a carboxylic acid group-containing compound, the toner having a shape factor (SF1) of 110 to 140, wherein the carboxylic acid group-containing compound has a weight-average molecular weight of 1800 to 50,000 and an acid value of 150 to 600 mg KOH/g.
Abstract: A device for printing a document, such as an HTML document, in which data to be incorporated into an output image can be described in the form of reference to an outside source, the device being capable of smooth printing a large document using a small memory. A document structural information manager creates document structural information which describes a structure of document elements, based on a result of analysis on an HTML document carried out by a document analyzer. During asynchronous downloading of substantial data of each document element, should work memory shortage occur, a memory manager unloads substantial data of a document element with a latter order at which to be incorporated into an output among those in the work memory, and saves the unloaded substantial data in an HDD. Thereafter, when data becomes no longer necessary as a result of being printed, the memory manager deletes the data from the work memory and reloads data saved in the HDD back to the work memory.
Abstract: Methods and systems for document image decoding incorporating a Stack algorithm improve document image decoding. The application of the Stack algorithm is iterated to improve decoding. A provisional weight is determined for a partial path to reduce template matching. In addition, semantically equivalent hypotheses are identified to reduce redundant hypotheses.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes plural toner image forming devices. Each of which has a rotating photoconductor, a charging device that uniformly charges a surface of the photoconductor, a latent image forming device that forms an electrostatic latent image on the surface of the charged photoconductor, a developing device that develops the electrostatic latent image on the surface of the photoconductor to a toner image, and a developing container that contains toner used by the developing device. A diameter of the photoconductor of at least one toner image forming device is formed larger than a diameter of the photoconductor of the other toner image forming devices. Each developing container of all the toner image forming devices is formed in equal-sized, and a center of rotation of a developing roll of each developing device is arranged in a position upper than a center of rotation of each photoconductor.
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining the authoritativeness of a document based on textual, non-topical cues. The authoritativeness of a document is determined by evaluating a set of document content features contained within each document to determine a set of document content feature values, processing the set of document content feature values through a trained document textual authority model, and determining a textual authoritativeness value and/or textual authority class for each document evaluated using the predictive models included in the trained document textual authority model. Estimates of a document's textual authoritativeness value and/or textual authority class can be used to re-rank documents previously retrieved by a search, to expand and improve document query searches, to provide a more complete and robust determination of a document's authoritativeness, and to improve the aggregation of rank-ordered lists with numerically-ordered lists.

Abstract: Overprint compositions for toner-based prints containing at least one radiation oligomer/monomer, at least one photoinitiator, and at least one surfactant are disclosed. The overprint compositions provide a number of advantages to toner-based prints, such as, for example, those subjected to abrasives, heat, and/or sunlight since the compositions protect such images from cracking, fading, and smearing. In addition, the overprint compositions provide resistance to thermal cracking, which is assessed by image analysis of the thermal crack area after exposure of the print to thermal shock.

Abstract: An electrophotographic imaging member having a charge generating layer and a charge transport layer overlayed thereon is provided. The charge transport layer has a lower surface and an upper surface, wherein the lower surface is in contiguous contact with the charge generating layer. The charge transport layer comprises a film forming polymer binder and a charge transport compound molecularly dispersed or dissolved therein to form a solid solution. The concentration of the charge transport compound in the charge transport layer decreases from the lower surface to the upper surface. In such a construction, the resulting charge transport layer exhibits enhanced cracking suppression, improved wear resistance, excellent imaging member electrical performance, and improved copy print out quality.
