Abstract: The Internet printing system for a client perform printing out to a print server that cannot circumvent a firewall by the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP). For a print server which cannot circumvent the firewall by IPP, a proxy unit which can communicate using IPP is installed on the Internet. A server site of the print server is opened on the proxy unit, and an IPP client regards the print server as a public IPP server opened on the Internet, and exchanges printing service requests and responses via the proxy unit. Since the proxy unit performs gateway conversion from IPP into another protocol, the client can print out to the print server circumventing the firewall by using IPP.

An ENTER button is provided for formalizing the entry of desired selections, where required. An UNDO button is provided to de-select entries. A STATUS button initiates audio, visual, or tactile feedback as to machine state, status, and other assistance. An ENLARGE button is provided by which a visually impaired user can enlarge their current focus for easier seeing and reading. An ON/OFF switch enables/disables feedback for use in those work environments where such assistance is not desired. Each of the buttons has an identifying shape, which can be differentiated by feel, and Braille and other text are additionally provided.
Abstract: The presently disclosed embodiments are directed to processes for making phase change or solid ink used in ink jet system recording apparatuses (e.g., printer, copying machine, facsimile, word processor, plotter, and the like). More particularly, the embodiments pertain to the preparation of pigment or dye-based solid ink using a rotor-stator style, in-line homogenizer.
Abstract: An electric writable medium having islanded surface structures operationally configured to avoid tribocharging of the electric writable medium.
Abstract: An educational material processing apparatus includes: an input unit that inputs an image data of a test material including a plurality of questions, a plurality of answer columns corresponding to the plurality of questions, and accuracy judgment marks indicating whether answers included in the answer columns are correct or not; an identification unit that identifies a position of an answer column judged to include a wrong answer based on at least one of the accuracy judgment marks in the image data of the test material; and a generation unit that generates the image data of the test material including a question corresponding to the answer column judged to include the wrong answer, the position of the answer column identified by the identification unit, with the answer column in vacant state.
Abstract: An image processing device is provided for processing image data in order to display an image at an image display medium which is capable of displaying white, black, and colors at individual pixels, which are structured by pluralities of sub-pixels. The judgment component acquires the image data and judges whether there is a chromatic color or a non-chromatic color at each pixel. When a pixel is judged to be non-chromatic, the selection component selects a pre-specified black-and-white sub-pixel set in accordance with a gray level of the non-chromatic color. When a pixel is judged to be chromatic, the conversion component converts color data to a sub-pixel set of black and the color in accordance with a pre-specified condition. Of results of conversion, the replacement component replaces a pre-specified sub-pixel set of colors, in an individual pixel or in a pre-specified sub-pixel group, with a pre-specified black-and-white sub-pixel set.
Abstract: An image transfer sheet for electrophotography comprising a substrate and at least one layer including an image receiving layer on one side surface of the substrate, wherein at least one layer of the layers is a curable resin-containing layer which is a layer separable from the substrate or a layer disposed between the curable resin-containing layer and the substrate on the one side surface. Also provided are a method for manufactruing the image recorded medium which use the image transfer sheet for electrophotography and an image recorded medium.
Abstract: A document processing apparatus processes an encoded document, which is a medium on which a machine readable code comprising a code of an encoded electronic document is formed. The document processing apparatus includes an acquiring unit, an editing-information managing unit and a decoding process unit. The acquiring unit acquires the machine readable code read from the encoded document. The editing-information managing unit manages editing information of the electronic document, which is an original document of the encoded document. The decoding process unit decodes the acquired machine readable code on a basis of the editing information.

Abstract: The systems and methods of this invention use an index and digital audio and/or video recordings of an activity to provide access to recently recorded material. For example, users initiate audio and/or video recordings. An index, e.g., an agenda, outlines the structure of the to be recorded event. The user selects an index item as an activity that corresponds to an index item is recorded. The recordings are then associated with the index. The user can then randomly access the recordings for playback, editing or further recording. The systems and methods of this invention additionally provide the means for correlating events and the corresponding index items with the recordings.

Abstract: Methods are disclosed for fabricating spring structures that minimize helical twisting by reducing or eliminating stress anisotropy in the thin films from which the springs are formed through manipulation of the fabrication process parameters and/or spring material compositions. In one embodiment, isotropic internal stress is achieved by manipulating the fabrication parameters (i.e., temperature, pressure, and electrical bias) during spring material film formation to generate the tensile or compressive stress at the saturation point of the spring material. Methods are also disclosed for tuning the saturation point through the use of high temperature or the incorporation of softening metals. In other embodiments, isotropic internal stress is generated through randomized deposition (e.g., pressure homogenization) or directed deposition techniques (e.g., biased sputtering, pulse sputtering, or long throw sputtering). Cluster tools are used to separate the deposition of release and spring materials.
