Abstract: A gear and a method for combining a first gear with a second gear including the steps of moving the first gear relative to the second gear such that a first tooth of the first gear contacts a second tooth of the second gear, pressing the first tooth of the first gear against the second tooth of the second gear such that a resultant force is not directed to a center of at least one of the first gear or the second gear, wherein a torque is created by the resultant force, and rotating at least one of the first gear or the second gear based on the created torque until first teeth of the first gear mesh with second teeth of the second gear.
Abstract: System and method for real-time job cell-assignment using soft-computing is provided. The system includes a work-in-progress module, a load estimation module and a fuzzy inference module. Clients send jobs to the system and the system evaluates a plurality of document processing cells' capacity to process the jobs taking into consideration the cells' current workload and the cells' capacity to process the job. Specifically, the work-in-progress module determines a work-in-progress (“WIP”) value for each cell that represents a current workload, and the load estimation module estimates a load value that represents how busy the cell is for jobs of a certain type. The fuzzy inference module applies the WIP and the estimated load values to a set of membership functions to associate the values with fuzzy values. The module determines merit values for the cells using the fuzzy values, and selects the cell having the largest merit value to route the job to.

Abstract: A thumbnail image includes at least one selectable element. The selectable element may be selected, or the document as a whole may be selected. The selectable element is associated with either (a) a portion of the original document, smaller than the original document as a whole or (b) a document other than the original document. When the thumbnail as a whole is selected, the original document is displayed. When the selectable element is selected, the appropriate portion of the original document, or the document other than the original document, is displayed.

Abstract: Inputs drawn on a control surface or inputs retrieved based on tokens or other objects placed on a control surface are identified and a view of a camera, or a virtual view of a camera or camera array is directed toward a corresponding location in a scene based on the inputs. A panoramic or wide angle view of the scene is displayed on the control surface as a reference for user placement of tokens, drawings, or icons. Camera icons may also be displayed for directing views of specific cameras to specific views identified by any of drag and drop icons, tokens, or other inputs drawn on the control surface. Clipping commands, are sent to a display device along with the wide angle view which is then clipped to a view corresponding to the input and displayed on a display device, broadcasting mechanism, or provided to a recording device.

Abstract: An air bladder packing system having an inflatable center body and extensions therefrom. The center body is generally for placement on top of an item placed in an outside box while the fingers are designed for positioning in the spaces between the item and the walls of the box. After placement, the air bladder is inflated to span the space between the item and the box, thereby securely holding the item in the box and providing protection against shifting during transport and providing impact protection.

Abstract: A port for replenishing ink on the side of a main ink tank advances and the nose or tip end of a main body of a pipe enters an ink replenishing opening on the side of a sub ink tank. When a valve body in the main body of the pipe and a valve on side of the sub ink tank are pressed with each other, a communicating port is opened by the valve body. When the main body of the pipe is further inserted into the ink replenishing opening, the valve is separated from a projection portion of a gasket, and a space therebetween starts to be widened. At this stage, as a lip portion of the gasket is not in contact with an outer peripheral portion of the main body of the pipe, an ink channel is opened to the atmosphere, the ink which is remained in or adhered to the outer peripheral portion of the main body of the pipe or an inside of the ink replenishing opening is absorbed into the sub ink tank dye ti a negative pressure in the sub ink tank.
Abstract: System and methods provide a message, generated based on a message authentication code (MAC), embedded in a look-up table associated with an image. The embedding of the message does not affect the image. The message may be used to authenticate the image.
Abstract: A record and related method is provided for storing encoded information comprising a storage media, first marks on the storage media having a covert code characteristic, with the first marks conveying a covertly marked code and second marks preferably having an overt code characteristic which convey a second overtly marked code useful in decoding the covertly marked code.

Abstract: A method for producing a toner of a custom color in a developer unit including a housing defining a reservoir for storing a supply of toner, a donor member for transporting toner to an imaging surface; including: identifying custom color requested; determining color of toner in the reservoir; detoning toner on the donor member if the color of toner in the reservoir is beyond a predefined value in color space from the custom color requested; calculating and dispensing primaries toner colors to be added to the reservoir to obtained the custom color requested; mixing the primary toner colors dispensed in the reservoir; and evaluating and comparing the color components of the toner being mixed to the custom color requested.
Abstract: The present invention is a system and method for dynamically altering the size of scanned image files based on the export file size, network demand and/or transmission requirements specified by a system administrator or end user. An embodiment as described here discusses about pushing the color text/edges into the black mask as the first approach in order to reduce file size at the expense of color fidelity.
Abstract: Patterns are aligned on the front and back surfaces of a document to provide an anti-counterfeiting security device. The document is sufficiently transparent to allow see-through of the partial image on the back of the document to be superimposed on the partial image on the front of the document to form a complete image if the patterns are properly aligned. The complete image will disappear if misaligned.
Abstract: A print media delivery system on a door assembly that is connected to an associated frame is provided. The door assembly includes a door body openable to provide access into an associated frame. A tray is pivotally connected to the door body for receiving associated print media thereon. A pick roller is rotatably mounted to the door body for contacting the associated print media and advancing the associated print media into the associated frame. A gear has a missing teeth section and is connected to the pick roller for corotation therewith. A gear bias system urges the gear to rotate in a first direction when the door body is closed and said tray is open to selectively advance the missing teeth section past an associated drive gear and allow teeth of the gear to engage the associated drive gear when the door body is closed.
Abstract: In an image processing section, a foam toner signal generator generates a foam toner signal corresponding to a foam toner amount to be transferred to a three-dimensional print designation region discriminated at a three-dimensional print region discriminator, and a foam toner interpolation signal generator generates a foam toner interpolation signal corresponding to a foam toner amount to be transferred to an image region equal to or greater than a constant area in an ordinary print region discriminated at the three-dimensional print region discriminator. Foam toner of a predetermined amount corresponding to the foam toner signal is transferred to the three-dimensional print region, and foam toner of an amount that is less (of a lower height) than the predetermined amount and corresponds to the foam toner interpolation signal is transferred to the ordinary print region.
