Abstract: An electronic circuit is utilized to correct scan non-linearity of a raster output scanner. The circuit modulates a clock frequency to match a scan linearity error profile. Because it is a separate circuit, the exiting closed-loop clock generator does not need to be modified. The correction circuit synchronizes itself with the clock signal using a counter/subtractor phase detector, which ensures that the phase and frequency of the internal clock matches the phase and frequency of the master.

Abstract: Frequency varying patterns are aligned on the front and back surfaces of a document to provide an anti-counterfeiting security device. The frequency varying patterns are reversed images. The document is sufficiently transparent to allow see-through of the pattern on the back of the document to be superimposed on the pattern on the front of the document. The frequency varying patterns will form a moire pattern if misaligned, regardless of the magnitude and the orientation of the misalignment.
Abstract: Process for preparing durable, re-usable intermediate toner image-transfer belts or electrostatic transfuse belts. The present belts have a continuous elastomer-impregnated fibrous fabric support and at least one outer smooth release layer of a cured elastomer polymer. The invention is characterized by the application of a thin primer layer of a hydrolyzable polyfunctional silicone composition between the elastomer-coated surface of the fabric support and the outer elastomer polymer layer. The polyfunctional silicone chemically-bonds to the elastomer of the fabric support during hydrolysis and chemically-bonds to the outer elastomer layer during its cure, to form a durable, heat-resistant transfuse belt. The layers maybe applied to the fabric support by spray application as dilute solutions.
Abstract: Patterns are aligned on the front and back surfaces of a document to provide an anti-counterfeiting security device. The document is sufficiently transparent to allow see-through of the partial image on the back of the document to be superimposed on the partial image on the front of the document to form a complete image if the patterns are properly aligned. The complete image will disappear if misaligned.
Abstract: Circuitry for providing a method (semi-analog) for normalization procedure of the Head Driver ASIC is disclosed. The circuitry utilizes current DAC's (Digital-to-Analog Converts) to adjust the amplitudes of the voltages across piezo-electric elements, based on predetermined normalization (calibration) data which are stored in separate latches (a different normalization data for each individual transducer). The transducers all receive their respective calibrated voltage values all at the same time utilizing a single current slope delivered to each. This method provides more simplicity and more accuracy for normalization procedure and results in better performance then using digital circuitry and digital counters.

Abstract: A method of fabrication of copper interconnect by means of copper electroplating is disclosed. In the conventional method of fabricating copper interconnect for integrated circuits, critical steps such as deposition of copper seed layer and chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) are required. However in this invention, both the seed layer deposition and CMP are not required.
Abstract: An image stripping apparatus includes: a stripping roller which strips an image forming material from an image recording medium by contacting the image forming material on the image recording medium; a cleaning roller for removing, from the stripping roller, the image forming material which has been transferred to the stripping roller; and a cleaning blade stripping the image forming material from the cleaning roller. The stripping roller has a surface layer made of a material having affinity and releasability with respect to the image forming material and the image recording medium. Thus, the stripping roller exhibits peelability required for stripping of the image forming material from the image recording medium and releasability required for removal of a transferred image forming material from the stripping roller.

Abstract: A toner extruder method for the preparation of a toner resin extrudate from a resin is provided. The method includes conveying a base resin to an aperture in a housing of a toner extruder, the housing surrounding a conveyor, providing a lead-in gap at a feed port end of the conveyor, inhibiting adhesion of melted resin to walls of the aperture, adding chemical initiator to a toner extruder, mixing the base resin and the chemical initiator within the extruder to form the mixed resin, and conveying the mixed resin within the extruder to an extruding die. Inhibiting adhesion can include repelling melted base resin into a flow of base resin, inhibiting heat transfer from the extruder to the base resin at the aperture by, for example, spacing at least one of the housing and the conveyor from the resin at the aperture.
Abstract: A catalytic converter unit for pre-filtering dirt particles from a gas discharge containing an ozone-laden gas discharge from electrographic copy machines, in advance of the passage of the gas discharge through a gas-neutralizing catalyst bed, to exclude the passage of the dirt particles which can cause contamination and degradation of the catalyst, and plugging of the catalyst bed resulting in reduced gas-permeability and the creation of a significant pressure drop thereacross which interferes with or substantially reduces the rate of gas flow through the unit. The catalytic converter units incorporate an easily-removable, cleanable and/or replaceable dirt filter screen which is supported for simple removal from the unit for periodic cleaning or replacement.
Abstract: A process that ensures the destruction of data files a user wishes to completely erase from a storage medium, such as a hard drive or removable disk. Abstract: The present invention is directed to an improved method for producing color watermarks in digitally reproducible color documents. The color watermarks are generated by producing a halftone pattern, which appears as stochastically distributed dots, in at least one or more color separations of the color document. A second halftone pattern, which also appears as stochastically distributed dots and is spatially displaced from the first halftone pattern, is generated in at least one or more different color separations. Portions of the first and second halftone patterns are auto-correlated or conjugally correlated, therefore, when the two halftone patterns are laid over each other, watermark patterns of highly contrasting colors become markedly visible.
