  • Patent number: 9054458
Abstract: A connector assembly having a first connector housing, a second connector housing and a connector position assurance (CPA) member that is slidably mounted on the first connector housing for movement between first and second CPA positions. When the CPA member is in the first CPA position and the first connector housing is not fully mated to the second connector housing, the CPA member engages the first connector housing to inhibit sliding movement toward the second CPA position. Fully mating the first and second connector housings together unlocks the CPA member to permit it to be slid to the second CPA position to engage the second connector housing.

  • Publication number: 20150134231
Abstract: A start-stop module for a vehicle can include a capacitor, one or more switches and a controller. The switches can be configured to connect the capacitor in parallel or in series with a battery of the vehicle. The controller can receive an input voltage having a magnitude based on a connection between the capacitor and the battery, and output a desired voltage that is appropriate for operating accessory loads of the vehicle. The controller can control the switches to switch between a standby mode and a cranking mode. The capacitor is in parallel with the battery in standby mode and in series with the battery in cranking mode. The controller can switch to the cranking mode when the engine is about to be restarted and return to standby mode after the engine has been restarted and when the battery voltage reaches the desired voltage for the accessory loads.

  • Publication number: 20150133002
Abstract: The present teachings provide for a connector including a first body and an assurance body. The first body defines a first locking member, a cavity and a slot. The cavity accepts a terminal inserted therein to a first distance. The slot extends into the first body and intersects the cavity. The first locking member is configured to prevent withdrawal of the terminal when the terminal is inserted to the first distance. The assurance body is movable between a preset and a full set position within the slot, and includes a reinforcing member and a second locking member. The full set position, the reinforcing member limits movement of the first locking member to prevent the withdrawal of the terminal, and the second locking member extends into the cavity to prevent withdrawal of the terminal independent of the first locking member.

  • Patent number: 9020683
Abstract: A diagnostic system for diagnosing faults in a trailer electrical system generally includes a mode determination module that determines a current operating mode to be one of a sleep mode, a normal mode, a situational awareness mode, and an adaptive calibration mode. A first mode module operates when the current operating mode is the normal mode and during operation, diagnoses an open circuit fault of the trailer electrical system based on a comparison of a current load on the trailer electrical system and an average load.

  • Patent number: 8964339
Abstract: A system and method for detecting the presence of a voltage on a ground conductor which is coupled to a protective Earth (PE) terminal associated with a power source. The power source is used to apply a voltage to a device. The system may use a high impedance device coupled across a switch, with the switch being in communication with a portion of the device. A control system may monitor a voltage across the high impedance device and determine if the voltage across the high impedance device exceeds a predetermined threshold. Exceeding the predetermined threshold indicates that an unsafe voltage from the power source is present on the ground conductor. A natural high impedance path between the device and the Earth is used to provide an Earth connection through the device to the Earth during operation of the system.

  • Patent number: 8762982
Abstract: A method of reprogramming a flash memory of a liquid crystal display (LCD) in a presentation device can include using an external electronic diagnostic tool and a controller area network (CAN) diagnostic interface within the device to initiate data transfer. Data can be transmitted to an LCD microcontroller within the device using a high speed infrared link between the diagnostic tool and microcontroller. The data can be stored in a memory within the device in bi-directional communication with the microcontroller. Proper reception by the microcontroller of the infrared transmitted data can be verified by the diagnostic tool and the CAN diagnostic interface. A command can be issued from the diagnostic tool directing how to employ the data to reprogram the LCD.

  • Publication number: 20140063417
Abstract: A system is disclosed for correcting a color of light being generated by an LCD image system having an LED and an LCD glass component that is illuminated by the LED. A plurality of color correction filters are constructed, with each providing a predetermined, differing color shift to light being output by the LCD glass component, based on a measured color of the light being output from the LCD glass component. Each of the color correction filters is constructed based on a known range of color variations that may be present in a color of the light being output from the LCD glass component. Each filter provides a color shift that shifts the color of the light being output from the LCD glass component from outside a predetermined target color area back into the predetermined target color area.
