  • Publication number: 20090214530
Abstract: The present invention relates to a modified CpG oligodeoxynucleotide (ODN) which is prepared by coupling a consecutive sequence of deoxyribothymine (dT) to the 3?-terminus of CpG ODN having immunoregularory function, thereby improving immunoactivity of splenocytes, macrophages and peripheral mononuclear cells, and therefore, can be effectively used as a vaccine adjuvant for preventing and treating hepatitis B or an anticancer agent. Since the phosphorothioate CpG ODN having the consecutive sequence of dT at its 3?-terminus shows high activity inducing Th-1 immune response and does not elicit in vivo toxicity with guaranteeing its safety, it can be effectively used as a vaccine adjuvant.

  • Patent number: 7532599
Abstract: A user allocating apparatus and method in a multiple antenna mobile communication system supporting multi-user diversity is provided. Each user calculates effective Signal-to-Interference Noise Ratios (SINRs) and bit loading over every possible detection order and selects a detection order maximizing the number of channels with a minimum product of the minimum symbol distance of a modulation scheme and an effective SINR, thereby minimizing an average error probability. A base station receives detection orders from users and selects a user with a maximum detection order value. The base station then transmits data to the selected user using modulation schemes determined by the user for the transmit antennas.

  • Patent number: 7526039
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for deciding a signal detection order in a mobile communication system that supports an adaptive modulation technology. The detection order that maximizes a channel, in which a product of the minimum symbol distance for each modulation rate and the effective SINR becomes minimum, maximum is selected by obtaining the effective SINR and performing a bit allocation with respect to the detection orders of each detection order, and thus an average error probability can be minimized. In the case in which the number of antennas is increased, the detection orders of all the possible cases are not considered, but the detection order that maximizes the channel, in which the product of the minimum symbol distance for each modulation rate and the effective SINR becomes minimum, is selected with respect to a forward ordering and a reverse ordering.

  • Patent number: 7515902
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for estimating the velocity of a mobile station in Rician fading environments in which a direct wave exists. Cellular mobile communication environments include two environments, Rician fading environments in which a direct wave exists and Rayleigh fading environments in which a direct wave does not exist. Generally, many methods for estimating the velocity of a mobile station have been known in Rayleigh fading environments. However, in Rician fading environments in which a direct wave exists, many errors occurs in estimating the velocity of a mobile station due to difficulty in estimation of a Rician coefficient K and an incident angle ?0. According to the invention, a method is provided wherein error is mostly eliminated in estimating the velocity of a mobile station by obtaining a maximum Doppler frequency of the mobile station, even without directly obtaining a Rician coefficient K and an incident angle ?0.

  • Patent number: 7463601
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a scheduling method and apparatus based on eigen values robust against spatial correlation in a mobile communication system supporting multiple users by use of multiple transmit/receive antennas. A user terminal estimates channel characteristics from the transmit antennas to the user terminal, decomposes the estimated channel characteristics into receive channel characteristics and transmit channel characteristics, and feeds back a transmit principal eigen vector to the base station (BS). The BS selects a predetermined number of user terminals having the least correlation using the feedback principal eigen vectors from a plurality of user terminals, constructs a user precoding matrix by combining the principal eigen vectors of the selected user terminals, multiplies data streams for the selected user terminals by the user precoding matrix and transmits the multiplied data to the selected user terminals.

  • Patent number: 7428681
Abstract: A method for reducing the number of transitions generated by an LFSR is introduced. The transition monitoring window monitors the number of transitions occurring as random patterns generated from an LFSR are applied to a scan chain, and, if the number of transitions exceeds a threshold value (“k-value”), all further transitions are suppressed. The transition monitoring window monitors the patterns entering the LFSR, incrementing a counter if a transition is detected. If a transition is detected just before the exit of a lowest stage of the LFSR the counter is decremented. The signal from the counter is compared with the k-value at every clock tick, and if the count is greater than the k-value, the vector most recently applied to the scan chain is re-applied to the scan chain; if it is less than the k-value, the output from the LFSR is applied to the scan chain.
