  • Patent number: 5541843
Abstract: An engine output control device executes control while also executing auto cruise control if traction control is executed during auto cruise running so that traction control and auto cruise control are established at the same time. If the traction control executed by a traction controller and the auto cruise runs, executed by an auto cruise controller, are established at the same time, then the auto cruise controller is released and, at the same time an accelerator signal (auto cruise accelerator signal), which is pseudo controlled by the speed during the running of the auto cruise, is calculated by a pseudo control accelerator signal calculation, and because traction control is executed for the auto cruise accelerator signal, the auto cruise control is restored. Consequently it is possible to execute auto cruise control continuously.

  • Patent number: 5531264
Abstract: An evaporator and heater core are provided within a cooling unit so that the flow rate of the heating medium flowing into the heater core can be adjusted with a 3-way valve. The target outlet temperature of the air discharged into the space being temperature controlled is calculated based upon the temperature of the air taken into the cooling unit and the temperature setting that is set at the temperature setting device. The openness of the 3-way valve is adjusted in such a manner that the temperature of the air outlet from the cooling unit is adjusted toward the target outlet temperature when the intake air temperature has entered a specific temperature setting range. Also, for each storage compartment, unit fans, an evaporator and a heater core are provided, housed within a unit case. The evaporators are connected in parallel to a common compressor to adjust the flow rates of the coolant with a solenoid valve.

  • Patent number: 5531204
Abstract: In an injection timer for a fuel injection system in which control of the timer shifts from feedback control to open loop control when the engine rotation rate is equal to or less than a specific rotation rate, a decision is made as to whether or not the operation is at startup time and, if it is, decision making for the engine rotation rate is canceled and feedback control is maintained even if the engine rotation rate is equal to or less than the specific rotation rate. Because of this, in a fuel injection system which is capable of maintaining the pump chamber pressure at a high level even at low engine rotation rates, the injection timing device can achieve both an improvement in accuracy of injection timing control and anti-pollution measures at startup.

  • Patent number: 5529547
Abstract: In a differential for vehicles, a pair of side gears are received in a housing and coaxial with the housing. The pair of side gears are spline-connected with end portions of a pair of coaxial output shafts. The pair of side gears are meshed with each other through paired element gears. Each side gear has a protrusion of a reduced diameter to be inserted in a receiving recess of the housing. A primary thrust washer and a coned disk spring are interposed between a shoulder of each side gear and the housing. A secondary thrust washer is interposed between the protrusion of the side gear and the housing. With a distal end face of the protrusion of the side gear contacting the housing through the secondary thrust washer, a distance between the shoulder of the side gear and the inner surface of the housing is larger than a total thickness of the primary thrust washer and the coned disk spring.

  • Patent number: 5524825
Abstract: In a fuel injector arranged such that fuel injection is controlled by an opening/closing operation of a solenoid valve, occurrence of bouncing motion of the valve rod after the deenergization of the solenoid valve to terminate the fuel injection is prevented by forming a stopper with a flat surface for making in-plane contact with the end surface of the valve rod and defining in the valve rod a pressure chamber having an opening at the end surface. The chamber is adapted to be filled with the fuel to suppress the bouncing motion of the valve rod at the valve opening operation.

  • Patent number: 5517101
Abstract: A stepping motor control device for an automobile air-conditioning system has a key-off home-position setting unit of a stepping motor for driving an air-conditioning door in response to switching of a key switch of the automobile off. The key-off home-position setting unit, responsive to switch of the key switch off, drives the stepping motor so that the air-conditioning door comes to a full-close position or a full-open position, stores data indicative of the full-close or full-open positions, as a current position of the air-conditioning door in a memory, and thereby finishes a home-position setting of the stepping motor. The key-off home-position setting unit is supplied with power from a power source under control of a timer for a prescribed time within which a home-position setting can be finished.

  • Patent number: 5515283
Abstract: A method for identifying highway access ramps in a database medium for use as locations for route calculation. Initially, first road segments which belong to a highway and which are connected to at least one access ramp are identified. The first road segments are sorted according to the highway to which they belong. A highway direction is determined for each first road segment. The first road segments belonging to a first highway are sorted according to highway direction. The first road segments belonging to the first highway and of each highway direction are sorted according to position, thereby forming a highway segment list for each direction of the first highway. Highway access ramps are identified for each first road segment in the highway segment list. The locations for the highway access ramps are stored in the database medium. Highway access ramps are identified in this manner for each highway in the database medium.

  • Patent number: 5513965
Abstract: In an innercam system fuel injection pump, plungers 15 are provided in the direction of the radius of a rotating member 10 which rotates in synchronization with the engine. A cam ring 18, which regulates the movement of the plungers, is fixed in a housing 2. • Patent number: 5508931
Abstract: The invention provides a route state filter for a vehicle route guidance system for improved tracking of vehicle position with respect to a preselected route. A set of position possibilities are derived by comparing a measured vehicle position to a database containing data representing a map of roads, the possibilities corresponding to possible positions on the roads within an error region around the measured position. A route guidance module receives the position possibilities, checks their validity and applies a filter to remove less likely possibilities. A current position is then selected from the remaining possibilities. An ON/OFF ROUTE status of the vehicle is determined by comparing the selected position with the selected route information in the database. A distance-based filter is utilized to provide improved continuity in the route status determination.

  • Patent number: 5507627
Abstract: An oscillating-plate type compressor has five cylinder bores 6 formed in a cylinder block 1. Coolant gas compressed in the cylinder bores is discharged to a discharge chamber 12 through discharge valves 17 secured to the cylinder block 1 by means of a bolt 19. The discharge chamber 12 is separated by a baffle plate 14 into two discharge spaces 12a and 12b, the former containing a bolt head 19a and the latter communicating with the discharge port. Five holes 14a to 14e which are the same in number as that of the cylinder bores 6 are formed and arranged along an imaginary circle of a predetermined diameter around the bolt facing portion 28 of the baffle plate 14 so as to communicate both of the discharge spaces 12a and 12b with each other.

  • Patent number: 5505592
Abstract: An annular piston abuts on an end face of a rotation plate on a side remote from a hollow cylinder via a thrust bearing, and delivery pressure is introduced to an end face of an annular piston on a side remote from the rotation plate via a high pressure-introducing passage. The delivery pressure acts via the thrust bearing on the rotation plate to urge the rotation plate toward the cylinder. As a result, the gap between the rotation plate and the cylinder is reduced, while a friction resistance offered to the rotation plate is reduced, thereby permitting the smooth rotation of the rotation plate.

  • Patent number: 5503539
Abstract: A scroll compressor reduces the load applied to the thrust bearing, to prevent a thrust bearing from seizing and to improve the service life of the thrust bearing. It comprises an electric motor that is provided within a high pressure space inside a sealed case with a stator fixed within the sealed case and a rotor fixed to a drive shaft. An oscillating shaft is decentered on and extends from the drive shaft. An oscillating scroll member has an insertion hole into which the oscillating shaft is inserted. A fixed scroll member forms a compression space by fitting into the oscillating scroll member, and a block secures the fixed scroll member inside the sealed case and clamps the oscillating scroll member so that it can oscillate freely between the block and the fixed scroll member. The thrust bearing is provided between the drive shaft and the block to hold the lower end of the drive shaft so that it can rotate freely.
