  • Patent number: 5987868
Abstract: A roving frame has a flyer region into which the suspension carriage trains are moved past a device for monitoring the presence or absence of cores or bobbins on the hangers. An error signal is transmitted in the case of an error and correction is effected when the suspension carriage train is in the flyer region. The suspension carriage train is then moved back past the sensors and either on this backward movement or the next forward movement, the functional correctness or poor mounting is again measured. Correction is effected in each case in the flyer region where the hangers are more readily accessible.

  • Patent number: 5987866
Abstract: Roving bobbins of a weight of about 5 kg, by contrast to standard bobbins with weights up to 3 kg, can be used in a spinning system in which the flyer frames are of the multi-axial drive type and are equipped with an automatic bobbin change mechanism which transfers the full bobbins to suspension carriage trains displaced thereby to ring-spinning machines and wherein the suspension carriage trains pass into the creels of the ring-spinning frames directly or are transferred from such suspension carriage trains to the creels.

  • Patent number: 5970699
Abstract: In order to quickly exchange empty sleeves (18) for full bobbins (6)in a roving frame, guiding rails (14, 21, 22) are mounted along at least one row of flyers (4). A suspended carriage train (15) with hangers (16) can be driven on the guiding rails (14, 21, 22). By lifting and lowering the bobbin rail (5), the bobbins (6) can be transferred from the bobbin rail (5) to the hangers (16) of the suspended carriage train (15) and sleeves (18) can be moved from the hangers to the bobbin rail. The bobbin rail (5) and/or the guiding rails (14, 21, 22) can be moved back and forth. Fixed guiding rails (14) can rest on the bottom side of the flyer rail (3), and movable guiding rails (21, 22) are arranged in the area below the flyers (4). Such guiding rails may be designed to slide or swivel.

  • Patent number: 5924644
Abstract: A process for producing different types of windings, especially a flyer winding or a composite winding, in the formation of a spool on a core sleeve of a spindle in a draft-twisting machine or frame in which, instead of displacing the ring rail over the full height of the spool to be formed, the full height is subdivided into zones and the ring rail is reciprocated in each of these zones only through a fraction of the total structure of the ring rail. During the winding in each zone, the spindle speed is held approximately constant and the spindle speed is changed only upon a transition from one zone to another.

  • Patent number: 5904036
Abstract: A roving frame has a drafting frame receiving sliver and feeding rovings to respective roving winding stations. Respective spindles at these stations receive core sleeves on which the roving bobbins are wound for respective flyers. An evaluating and control device is operatively connected to the drive for automatically or on command, operating the flyers at a first gentle speed less than the operating speed and a speed required for automatic capture of roving ends by the core sleeves, automatically or on command, operating the flyers at a second gentle speed less than the operating speed, greater than the first gentle speed and sufficient for automatic capture of roving ends by the core sleeves, and automatically or on command, operating the flyers at a creeping third gentle speed less than the first gentle speed for startup and to position the flyers at selected angular positions.

  • Patent number: 5902503
Abstract: A low-loss, high-energy efficiency and low-cost heatable godet has a plurality of short wavelength infrared radiation heaters closely juxtaposed with the inner wall of the hollow drum of a godet onto which a synthetic yarn can be fed. The heaters can be angularly equispaced within the interior of the drum, closely juxtaposed therewith and of different lengths to heat different axial zones of the drum differently. The heaters can be coated with a reflective material on their sides turned away from the drum to avoid scattering losses and to direct energy to the drum.

  • Patent number: 5901542
Abstract: A ring-spinning machine has spindles with head pieces, e.g. with fingers about which the yarn can be wound to reduce the ballooning of the yarn around the respective spindles. The thread-guide eyes above the headpieces can be depressed against a spring force from normal positions to enable the yarn to wind around the fingers and the spring force restores the eyes to their normal positions, thereby avoiding changes in the distances between the normal positions and the headpieces which may alter the spinning properties and yarn quality.

  • Patent number: 5884469
Abstract: Along a row of spindles of a ring-spinning machine, an underwind-residue remover is displaceable by a belt whose belt stretches are horizontal and lie one above the other over the length of the machine. The underwined-residue remover has a shank guided along a rib at a track for the remover alongside a row of spindles and the track has a foot extending horizontally from the rib and overlain by the stretches of the belt. The stretches of the belt have loops connecting them at opposite ends and a roller arrangement about which the respective loop passes.

  • Patent number: 5873230
Abstract: In the pneumatic pressing of textile strands in a drafting frame the pressure in the pressure line is monitored by a pressure sensor and/or a flowmeter and used to control a value between the pressure source and that pressure line. According to the invention a disturbance signal is outputted when the pressure in the line drops below a threshold, the control signal for the valve exceeds a threshold, the displacement of the value member exceeds a certain level and the flow rate exceeds a value so as to indicate leakage beyond a tolerance level.

  • Patent number: 5836146
Abstract: The distribution of thick regions along a filament yarn can have a random character if the thick regions of a filament from a first stretching zone are heated in a second stretching zone and thereby permitted to stretch and reduce in thickness. • Patent number: 5734247
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for controlling the drive of a machine element of a spinning or twisting machine for exact positioning of the machine element at setpoint positions within a certain tolerance limit using motors which are not speed variable and are controlled by an on-off switch. The overshooting of the setpoint position can be detected and the measure of overshoot used as correction values for subsequent approaches to the setpoint position or to allow reverse approach to the setpoint with detection of overshoot beyond the tolerance and then a new approach with the iteration to a deviation less than the tolerance limit or a maximum number of cycles.

  • Patent number: 5732542
Abstract: A transporter for textile plants having upstream machines providing full bobbins to downstream machines returning core sleeves to the upstream machines. The transport system has a suspension track extending in a loop around a plurality of the downstream machines for each upstream machine and provided with switches and shunts which allow reconfiguration of the loop which can have a diverting stretch for use when the downstream machine is shunted and for including one or more machines of the adjacent loops when desired in the first-mentioned loop. In all configurations, the path length is substantially the same and the length of the transporter is only slightly less so that a gap is provided between the leading and trailing ends of the transporter.

  • Patent number: 5712467
Abstract: A heated galette is provided with a heating unit and a temperature sensor connected in a control circuit with the heating unit to maintain a certain temperature of the surface of the galette on which a synthetic yarn is guided. The control circuit is disconnected periodically or intermittently so that the heating unit can be heated independently of the feedback control provided by the control unit. Upon the heating unit attaining an equilibrium with temperature, a first actual value temperature is measured and a difference is obtained from a setpoint temperature corresponding to a given control ratio and a signal representing the difference is generated. Utilizing this system, it is possible to detect failure of the temperature sensor and/or the heating unit or inappropriate positioning of the temperature sensor.
