Abstract: An egg processing apparatus is provided. Such an apparatus includes a plurality of egg processing devices configured to interact with a plurality of eggs carried by an egg carrier. An egg support assembly is positioned beneath the egg processing devices such that an egg carrier is capable of being moved between the egg processing devices and the egg support assembly. The egg support assembly includes a plurality of pedestals, with each pedestal having a plurality of discrete egg support members cooperating to form a seating arrangement portion for contacting and supporting an end of an egg in the egg carrier. An associated assembly and method are also provided.

Abstract: Compositions for prevention of Foot and Mouth Disease (FM D) are provided, comprising an antigen component in the amount equivalent to 0.5-20 ?g FM D virus and an adjuvant component comprising oil, an immunostimulatory oligonucleotide, and a polycationic carrier. Methods of using the composition, as well as the methods of reducing FM D persistence are also provided.

The elongated members are interlaced to form a sheath capable of retaining an egg. The sheath has a distal end and a proximal end at which the elongated members are operably engaged with the body. The elongated members cooperate to define an opening at the distal end through which an egg is received when the elongated members engage and deflect about an egg such that the egg is seated within the sheath. Abstract: A harvesting apparatus adapted to harvest egg fluid from an avian egg is provided. Such an apparatus includes a frame. A harvesting assembly is operably engaged with the frame. The harvesting assembly includes a plurality of nozzles configured to remove egg fluid from an egg. The nozzles are configured to rotate from a vertically off-axis angled position toward a vertical position. A suction assembly is in fluid communication with the nozzles for harvesting egg fluid from an egg. An associated method is also provided.

Abstract: The invention provides isolated polynucleotide molecules that comprise a DNA sequence encoding an infectious RNA sequence encoding a genetically-modified North American PRRS virus, methods to make it and related polypeptides, polynucleotides, and various components. Such a system includes a first securing arrangement configured to engage and deflect about an egg such that the egg is capable of being seated within the first securing arrangement. The first and second securing arrangements are configured to interact through relative movement with respect to one another, such interaction thereby causing an egg to be transferred therebetween. Such a system includes a vaccine delivery assembly configured to perform a vaccine delivery procedure for delivering a vaccine substance to the avian pullets. Such an indexing system provides a positioning scheme for an egg carrier carrying a plurality of avian eggs to an injection assembly for injection thereof. The indexing system includes an initial stop provided to abut the trailing end of the egg carrier to form a first egg carrier position such that a first subset of the plurality of avian eggs is injected. An intermediate stop is provided to abut the trailing end of the egg carrier to form a second egg carrier position such that a second subset of the plurality of avian eggs is injected. A plurality of egg orienting accommodations extends from the underside of the reference platform. Each egg orienting accommodation is associated with a respective reference opening such that as an egg moves toward the reference platform it interacts with the egg orienting accommodation to orient the egg. Abstract: The present invention is directed to novel immunogenic compositions that protect swine from disease caused by porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV). The present invention is also directed to novel immunogenic compositions that protect swine from disease caused by porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV), alone or as combination vaccine to protect against PEDV. The compositions of the invention provide killed viruses whose effectiveness is enhanced by the selection of preferred adjuvants. Novel culture methods are also employed to increase reproducible yield of cultured viruses. Live vaccines are also provided from the Calaf14 PEDV isolate.

Abstract: This invention relates to adjuvant formulations comprising various combinations of triterpenoids, sterols, immunomodulators, polymers, and Th2 stimulators; methods for making the adjuvant compositions; and the use of the adjuvant formulations in immunogenic and vaccine compositions with different antigens. Such a system includes a first measurement device configured to determine a first measurement of a plurality of eggs carried by an egg flat. A processor is in communication with the first measurement device. The processor is configured to receive the first measurements from the first measurement device. A second measurement device is configured to determine a second measurement of the eggs in the collection of egg flats. The second measurement device is in communication with the processor such that the processor is capable of receiving the second measurements. The processor compares the second measurements with the first measurements so as to identify a respective egg flat among the collection of egg flats.

Abstract: An egg decapping apparatus is provided. Such an apparatus includes a reference plate defining a plurality of reference openings therethrough. Each reference opening is adapted to receive an avian egg therein from a lower side of the reference plate and to stop further upward movement of the avian egg within the reference opening when an upper egg section to be cut extends from the reference opening above the reference plate. A cutter member is positioned above the reference plate. The cutter member is moveable across the reference plate and the reference openings from a precut position to a post cut position for creating an opening in the upper egg section. A cleaning member is moveable with the cutter member across the reference plate. The cleaning member is actuatable at the post cut position so as to remove debris from the upper egg section accumulated on the cutter member. Associated methods are also provided.
