  • Publication number: 20240135917
Abstract: A system may receive, from a computing device that is not connected to a conference to which one or more participant devices are connected, a message including text entered by a user of the computing device. The system may determine a permission for enabling communications between the computing device and the one or more participant devices by authenticating a credential associated with the computing device. The system may transmit, based on the permission, the message to the one or more participant devices during the conference. In some implementations, the system may invoke speech synthesis software during the conference to produce machine-generated speech representative of the message. The speech synthesis software may use a spoken voice model of the user, generated using recorded voice samples of the user, to produce the machine-generated speech.

  • Patent number: 11954764
Abstract: Methods and systems provide for providing a virtual background within a communication session using dynamic chroma key reframing. In one embodiment, a method displays a user interface including at least one video feed corresponding to a participant of the communication session. The method receives a request to enable a selected or provided virtual background using chroma keying. The method then determines a background layer of the video feed. The method also determines edges for the background layer. Next, the method crops and reframes the video feed around the edges of the background layer. The method then removes the background layer from the video feed, and adds the selected or provided virtual background to the background layer of the video feed. Finally, the method displays the video feed within the communication session.

  • Publication number: 20240107230
Abstract: Example methods and systems provide automatic audio equalization for online conferences. A target, ideal, audio frequency response for use in online conferencing audio can be designed and preset for reference, and the equalizer can operate in real time to reach the target frequency response for any input. The equalizer can selectively apply per-band equalization to the audio signal as needed to adjust an energy value for each of multiple frequency bands to produce an output audio signal that that can be, as an example, routed through meeting servers or other infrastructure to other conference participants. The equalization can compensate for conditions local to a speaker that would otherwise adversely affect audio quality.

  • Patent number: 11943564
Abstract: Methods and systems provide for video appearance adjustments within a video communication session. First, the system receives video content. The system then receives an appearance adjustment request comprising an adjustment depth, and detects imagery of a user within the video content. The system then detects a face region within the video content. The system segments the face region into a number of skin areas. For each of the plurality of skin areas, the system classifies the skin area as a smooth texture region or rough texture region. If the skin area is classified as a smooth texture region, the system modifies the imagery of the user in real time or substantially real time by applying a smoothing process to the skin area, where the amount of smoothing applied corresponds to the adjustment depth.
