Abstract: Technologies for dynamically managing resources in disaggregated accelerators include an accelerator. The accelerator includes acceleration circuitry with multiple logic portions, each capable of executing a different workload. Additionally, the accelerator includes communication circuitry to receive a workload to be executed by a logic portion of the accelerator and a dynamic resource allocation logic unit to identify a resource utilization threshold associated with one or more shared resources of the accelerator to be used by a logic portion in the execution of the workload, limit, as a function of the resource utilization threshold, the utilization of the one or more shared resources by the logic portion as the logic portion executes the workload, and subsequently adjust the resource utilization threshold as the workload is executed. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable storage media for allocating content elements addressed for a content opportunity in a transport stream within a household-addressable media network. A content opportunity may include an advertising slot in a programming stream. The content elements may include advertising content configured to be run during the advertising slot. The advertising slot may be transmitted in a programming stream providing television programming and the advertising content may be provided in a commercial feed. The media network may be configured to transmit various content formats, such as high definition (HD), standard definition (SD), and variations thereof. Systems may be configured to allocate the highest profile corresponding content elements if there is sufficient resources available. If sufficient resources are not available, the system may allocate lower profile versions of the content elements.

Abstract: Establishing a data store of content metadata includes receiving, from a content player executing on a client device, an indication of content played by the content player, the indication comprising one or more pieces of metadata associated with the content. It further includes selecting a set of one or more rules applicable to parsing the metadata associated with the content. It further includes processing the metadata at least in part by applying the selected parsing rules to at least a portion of the metadata associated with the content. It further includes storing, to a data store, at least some of the processed metadata associated with the content.

Abstract: Minimizing latency when streaming media, such as but not necessarily limited to limiting or otherwise ameliorating polling latency, network response latency and/or other communication related latencies, is contemplated. The latency minimization may include facilitating long polling or otherwise facilitating instantaneously transmitting requested media once available.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and storage media for updating a media stream manifest corresponding a media stream package are disclosed. Exemplary implementations may: receive an original manifest corresponding to a media stream and a revised manifest corresponding to an updated version of the media stream; determine an identifier of the track of the media stream based on a combination of metadata in the original manifest; determine an identifier of a corresponding track of the updated version of the media stream based on a combination of metadata in the revised manifest; determine new metadata in the revised manifest that is not included in the existing manifest; generate a delta manifest of the new metadata; and insert the new metadata into the corresponding portions of original manifest and storing the resulting data structure to a data store associated with stored media objects for the updated to thereby generate a final manifest.

Abstract: Example embodiments provide systems and methods for dynamically creating intuitive favorites for a user. The system and methods include monitoring actions performed, by the user at a digital receiver, with respect to a plurality of content programs. The actions performed with respect to the plurality of content programs are analyzed. The analysis includes comparing a level of the actions with respect to a first content program of the plurality of content programs with a threshold. Based on the comparing indicating that the first content program is a favorites, an indication that the first content program is a favorites content program is stored to a data store.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed to detect a presence status. An example apparatus includes media identification circuitry to generate first signatures representative of first audio data associated with a monitored media device, a comparator to obtain second signatures from a portable meter, the second signatures representative of second audio data sensed by the portable meter and compare the first signatures and the second signatures to determine a comparison result, presence detection circuitry to determine a presence status of a user based on the comparison result, the user associated with the portable meter, and network communication circuitry to transmit the presence status to a data processor to perform audience measurement based on the presence status.

The method, apparatus and computer program product access one or more media segments (30). The one or more media segments includes media data configured for streaming playback. The method, apparatus and computer program product access size information (32) or priority rank information of one or more tiles for each of the one or more media segments. The method, apparatus and computer program product encode the size information (34) or priority rank information for each of the one or more media segments in a media file within one or more metadata tracks associated with the one or more media segments or one or more sub-segments associated with the one or more media segments.

Abstract: A controller device manages a plurality of network devices arranged at a plurality of sites. The controller device includes one or more processing units configured to determine a stateful intent for managing a software application at the plurality of network devices and represented by a graph model and translate the stateful intent into low-level configuration data. The one or more processing units are further configured to determine, for each site, a priority index based on a site-level usage of the software application, determine, an ordered list of the plurality of sites based on the priority index for each respective site, and configure, for each respective site, and in an order specified by the ordered list of the plurality of sites, one or more network devices of the plurality of network devices that are arranged at the respective site according to the low-level configuration data.

Abstract: Described herein is a novel approach for coarse-grained user geolocation leveraging widely-deployed content delivery networks (CDNs). This method relies on the fact that CDN providers deploy a number of edge servers that are geographically distributed across the world. Many of these edge servers are assigned with unique identifiers that are tied to their location, which can be retrieved by inspecting HTTP responses headers served by these edge servers. As a result, a website can infer coarse-grained user location by asking a user to send an HTTP request to an arbitrary domain that is known being served by a CDN, and inspecting the corresponding responses.

Abstract: As a media client receives a media stream for presentation, the media client could receive, in-band with the media stream, metadata identifying the media stream, such as a media-stream identifier encoded as a watermark in the media stream or carried together with the media stream in a packet-based transport stream, among other possibilities. And while the media client is processing the media stream for presentation, the media client could then convey the received metadata out-of-band to a server to enable the server to readily obtain reference fingerprints representing the media stream and to thereby facilitate, based on the reference fingerprints, a content-related action such as dynamic content modification for instance.

Abstract: A live media streaming architecture facilitates live interaction among multiple participants, such as viewers and stage performers for a show. A cluster of computers is responsible for generating, transmitting, and displaying a composed live stream, such as a grid, of one group of individuals, by mixing live streams from those individuals, that will allow them to interact with a stage performer or other contributors or other individuals during an event. The architecture can support receiving the live streams at a physical location of an event or other locations for centralized redistribution.

Abstract: Determining attributes for a stream of live content (e.g., live-streaming videos) is described. Initially, a stream of live content is received. One or more attributes are then extracted from a first segment and a second segment of the stream. The first segment and the second segment of the stream may have the same predetermined duration and the second segment may at least partially overlap with the first segment. The one or more attributes extracted from the first segment may be transmitted at a first time, such as at a first break in the stream of content. The one or more attributes extracted from the second segment may be transmitted at a second time, such as at a second break in the stream of content. The attributes from the first and second segments may be transmitted to a content provider and/or a creative provider, such as an advertiser.

Abstract: In one example, the present disclosure describes a device, computer-readable medium, and method for transcoding digital media in an optimized manner based on media priority. For instance, in one example, a method includes obtaining a plurality of media content items awaiting transcoding before being distributed over a content distribution network, identifying a plurality of transcoding resources available to transcode the plurality of media items, and generating a schedule for transcoding the plurality of media content items using the plurality of transcoding resources, wherein the schedule prioritizes those media content items of the plurality of media content items that have the highest relative business value.

Abstract: A method for generating a target video, an apparatus, a server, and a medium are provided. The method includes: obtaining live broadcast stream data, wherein the live broadcast stream data comprises at least one among voice data and live broadcast interaction data, and video data; performing processing on the live broadcast stream data, and generating at least one among a corresponding voice metric value and interaction metric value, and a corresponding video metric value according to a target object included in a processing result; generating an overall metric value for the live broadcast stream data according to the generated metric values; and in response to determining that the comprehensive metric value for the live broadcast stream data satisfies a preset condition, generating a target video on the basis of the live broadcast stream data.

Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method may include receiving, from a client device, a request for multimedia content, where the request includes both a manifest request that includes client identification data and a license request that includes a license challenge. The method may further include validating the received request for multimedia content using the client identification data in the manifest request and generating a manifest response that includes an identification of a specified multimedia content stream that is to be provided to the client device. The method may also include acquiring at least one license in response to the license request, where the license includes a response to the license challenge having various content keys, and then providing the specified multimedia content stream, including the generated manifest response and the acquired license, to the client device. Content may also be shared with associated brain state information.

Abstract: A system is provided for concurrent presentation of non-programming media assets with programming media content at a client device. The client device receives a response for occurrence of an event opportunity point from the media presentation and distribution system based on a selection criteria for the event opportunity point. A display view of the client device is modified, and a non-programming media asset is presented from a second media stream for a defined duration and different version of the programming media content in first partition, concurrently with the programming media content over second partition. The different version of the programming media content corresponds to the programming media content encoded based on a region within the modified display view allocated to the first partition. The presentation is based on user preference for specific item in the programming media content and user selection of the non-programming media asset displayed in past engagement.
