Abstract: A network of orbiting satellites can be used with a distributed network of nodes to deliver live video streams from physical locations in space to Earth for distribution to viewers on client devices. The approach can include replicating a distributed network cluster in space where each orbiting satellite is a node in the network. This system allows entities to deliver low latency live video streams from cameras mounted on the spacecraft, as well as other satellites, and on the surface of the Moon and planets. The latency will depend on the communication technology used and the distance of the video source from Earth. The lowest latency can be achieved by using optical communication technology, such as laser communication. The system can distribute live streams originating in space to a large global audience through an earth-based distribution network and can support millions of concurrent online users with near real-time latency.

Abstract: A data sharing method includes providing a receiver and at least one transmitter, changing a first hardware registration identification code of the at least one transmitter to a second hardware registration identification code of a virtual camera device corresponding to at least one communication software program by the receiver, and using the virtual camera device for converting at least one image data signal transmitted from the at least one transmitter to video stream data supported by the at least one communication software program after the receiver receives the at least one image data signal.

Abstract: An exemplary system can generate an alert to a caregiver or other concerned parties when a usage pattern of a multimedia device differs by a preset amount. The multimedia device can record typical usage of the device and determine a pattern. The pattern is compared with real-time usage to determine when a different pattern is being done and if it is outside a preset amount generate an alert to a caregiver. This allows for non-intrusive monitoring of individuals that use the multimedia device on a regular basis.

Abstract: A video distribution server according to one embodiment of the present invention allows a distributor or viewers to be involved in giving rewards to other viewers, while encouraging viewers to continue viewing a live video. The server provides a live video distribution service for distributing and viewing live videos to users via user terminals. The server gives a predetermined reward to a viewer whose viewing duration of a live video provided by a distributor reaches the predetermined threshold, and the predetermined reward is given based on the attribute or action of the distributor or viewers. This may allow a distributor and viewers to be involved in giving rewards to other viewers, while encouraging viewers to continue viewing a live video.

Abstract: An audiovisual controller for routing input/output imaging data in an operating theater is disclosed. The controller comprises an imaging data input port for receiving surgical imaging data from an imaging data capturing device and an imaging data output port for transmitting said surgical imaging data to an output monitor for displaying the surgical imaging data. The controller is configured for receiving orientation information regarding the orientation of the imaging data capturing device and the output monitor. The controller is configured for adjusting an orientation or position of the displayed surgical imaging data as function of the orientation information.

The method includes identifying visually distinctive candidate marker frames within the video, grouping the candidate marker frames into a plurality of groups based on visual similarity, computing a collective score for each of the groups based on temporal proximity of each of the candidate marker frames within the group to related events occurring within the video, and selecting at least one of the groups based on the collective proximity scores as marker frames that demarcate the pre-determined type of video segment.
