  • Patent number: 10383656
Abstract: An introducer needle assembly including a compressible section between the rigid needle and the hub. Once the vessel is entered as determined by blood entering the syringe, the compressible section of the introducer needle is occluded by compressing the section with the thumb and a finger. Neither blood nor air can pass. Since the compressible section is in a flattened area it is easier to hold the needle while the syringe is unscrewed. The operator then can begin threading a guidewire down the device which is now easier to enter because blood is not coming out of the hub thus obscuring the lumen.

  • Patent number: 10342966
Abstract: A barrel adapter mountable to a syringe barrel includes a barrel tip, a needle assembly, a stylet assembly slidably disposed within a needle lumen of the needle assembly, and a plug within the lumen of the needle. An implant delivery syringe includes a barrel, a plunger assembly, and the barrel adapter. The syringe may include a needle retraction mechanism having a biasing member and an actuable locking arrangement. When the actuable locking arrangement is actuated, the biasing member causes the needle to axially translate over the stylet during retraction to dislodge the plug and cause delivery of an implant to a target location. The plug may be a biodegradable polymer plug such as a water-soluble polymer, PLGA, and/or CARP. The stylet may be retracted following delivery. Methods of assembling implant delivery syringes with drug implants are also provided.

  • Patent number: 10300205
Abstract: An autoinjector having a body (1; 2), a reservoir (S), a piston (P), a needle (A), and a piston rod (5) co-operating with the piston. The piston rod is movable between a first rest position, a second pricking position, and a third injection position. An actuator spring (6) is provided to urge the piston rod towards its pricking position and then towards its injection position. A force-adjustment system (7, 8) exerts a force (F1, F2) on the piston rod (5). The force (F1) opposes the force exerted by the actuator spring at the end of pricking to decrease the force exerted on the reservoir by the piston rod at the end of pricking, and the force (F2) adding to the force exerted by the actuator spring at the beginning of injection, to amplify the force exerted on the piston by the piston rod at the beginning of injection.
