Abstract: A serverless data processing architecture may be a high-velocity, cost-efficient and massively scalable log ingest application and event parser that may act as the intermediary between data collection and data analysis and may handle the receipt and parsing of incoming event data generated by collector and sensor applications. The log analytics data science portion of an ingest process may determine if arbitrarily structured log data is anomalous and/or security relevant via single event or multievent algorithms. There are numerous applications for both the single and multi-event log analytics platforms. Any application involving reliably finding anomalous pieces of semi-structured or unstructured text data may provide potential use cases. These processes may be particularly widely applicable because these processes are agnostic to and require no prior knowledge of the structure of the data.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to systems, devices, non-transitory computer-readable storage media, and computer-implemented methods for performing behavioral analytics using short identifiers by obtaining historical event data for multiple events and multiple short identifiers, where each event is associated with a short identifier, selecting a first event location associated with a first event, selecting a second event location associated with a second event that is geographically dispersed from the first event location, determining identifier collisions based on short identifiers associated with the first event location and short identifiers associated with the second event location in the historical event data, determining an average percentage of identifiers collisions based on the identifier collisions that were determined, performing behavior analytics on the short identifiers to generate behavioral models associated with the short identifiers, and generating adjusted behavioral models based on the average percent

Abstract: A computer-implemented technique is described herein for facilitating discovery of information items. The technique involves providing at least one set of indicators to a user via a user interface presentation. The indicators represent respective topics. Each distance d between a pair of respective indicators, associated with respective topics (t, t?), is based on at least: a similarity between the topic t and the topic t? as expressed by a knowledge graph; and a dynamic and personalized joint measure of the user's current interest in the topic t and the topic t?. The technique further involves providing at least one information item to the user in response to the user's engagement with the user interface presentation.

Abstract: Systems and methods for mining and compressing commercial data including a network of point of sale devices to log commercial activity data including independent commercial events and corresponding dependent features. A middleware system is in communication with the network of point of sale devices to continuously collect and compress a stream of the commercial activity data and concurrently store the compressed commercial activity data. Compressing the stream includes a file access table corresponding to the commercial activity data, producing compressible file access templates (CFATs) according to frequent patterns of commercial activity data using the file access table, and replacing dependent feature sequences with a matching compressible file access template. A database is in communication with the middleware system to store the compressed commercial data.

Abstract: An information request processor analyzes an information request and automatically selects search queries and information sources that are responsive to the information request. Prior reports and portions of browsing history that were generated during the creation of the prior reports are selected based at least on a primary entity included in the information request. The entities extracted from the prior reports using trained Information Extraction (IE) models are mapped to the search terms extracted from the portions of the browsing history in order to identify the successful search queries that provided the information for the prior reports. A report responsive to the information request can be generated either automatically or by receiving user input that validates and rephrases the successful search queries.

Abstract: A method, computer program product, and computer system for analyzing one or more existing book indexes to build a statistical model of term-to-text pairs. A document may be analyzed, wherein the document may include at least a portion of an instruction in a book. A term in the document may be identified. Whether the term is a candidate for an index of the book may be identified based upon, at least in part, the statistical model of term-to-text pairs.

Abstract: A method and system for ranking search results is disclosed. Search sessions are tracked to determined accessed search results. For each accessed search result occurring across the plurality of search sessions, the accessed search result is associated with each search query having been executed within a given search session, prior to the user accessing the accessed search result. A preselection is made among the query elements forming each search query, for indexing the selected query elements. For each pairing of a query element from the preselection and an associated accessed search result, a result score is calculated. A ranking model is then generated. The ranking model contains the result score in association with the corresponding pairing, for ranking subsequent search results from subsequent search queries according to the result scores.

Abstract: Methods and systems for cross cluster replication are provided. Exemplary methods include: periodically requesting by a follower cluster history from a leader cluster, the history including at least one operation and sequence number pair, the operation having changed data in a primary shard of the leader cluster; receiving history and a first global checkpoint from the leader cluster; when a difference between the first global checkpoint and a second global checkpoint exceeds a user-defined value, concurrently making multiple additional requests for history from the leader cluster; and when a difference between the first global checkpoint and the second global checkpoint is less than a user-defined value, executing the at least one operation, the at least one operation changing data in a primary shard of the follower cluster, such that an index of the follower cluster replicates an index of the leader cluster.

Abstract: A method for file locks in a distributed file system, performed by a storage system is provided. The method includes receiving, at a storage system having a distributed file system, a request for access of a file and locking the file, through one of a plurality of persistent file locks in the storage system. The method includes accessing the file, through the distributed file system, and unlocking the file, through the one of the plurality of persistent file locks.

Abstract: Obfuscating data is disclosed. A processor identifies structured information in log data. The structured information is transformed in a manner that preserves the structure to form transformed raw data. The transformed raw data is sent to a remote analysis engine. The remote analysis engine receives a query and responds to the query by providing as results at least a portion of the transformed raw data. A processor is configured to de-transform the transformed raw data.

Abstract: Changes to information are managed by storing information as a plurality of objects. Each object has one or more states. One or more temporal histories are maintained for each object based on the plurality of states of the object at a plurality of time instances. For each state of the object, whether or not the state is a user of another state of the object or another object is determined. When a request to change the information is received, at least one state of at least one of the plurality of objects is selectively changed. When it is determined that the at least one state is the user of another state, then the changing is further responsive to changes in the another state.

Abstract: Described are systems and methods for storing a variable number of instances of data objects (e.g., 1, 2, 3, or up to N?1 instances, where N is the number of instances of the data object included in primary data) in secondary storage across a data storage network. In some examples, a system for storing a variable number of instances of data objects includes, one or more computing devices storing a set of data objects and multiple storage devices distinct from the one or more computing devices. Each of the multiple storage devices is configured to store at least a single instance of a data object. The system also includes a database configured to store information associated with the data objects. This information includes substantially unique identifiers for the data objects and, for each of the data objects, a number of instances of the data object stored on the multiple storage devices.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a digital asset synchronization system that provides improved local and remote synchronization of digital assets. In particular, the digital asset synchronization system manages digital assets by separating each digital asset into multiple components stored as a set of distributed individual files. Employing individual components for a digital asset rather than single monolithic file enables the digital asset synchronization system to provide safe concurrent access to the digital asset from multiple applications on the same device and across different devices. In addition, using components for a digital asset provides the digital asset synchronization system with the ability to efficiently store and synchronize multiple versions of the digital asset, both locally and remotely.

Abstract: A system and method for content sharing includes acquiring, by a processing device, a plurality of data objects from data sources, storing the plurality of data objects in a data warehouse, generating a high-level index that is shared by the plurality of data objects, generating a plurality of low-level indices that each provides a respective low-level index for a respective one of the plurality of data objects, and providing the plurality of data objects on the content sharing platform for query or search using the high-level index and the plurality of low-level indices.

Abstract: An environment information storage and playback method, a storage and playback system, and a storage and playback terminal are disclosed. The storage and playback method may include: acquiring current position data and time data (S101); collecting current environment data (S102); establishing a first association between the environment data and the position data, and establishing a second association between the environment data and the time data (S103); storing the position data, the time data, the environment data, the first association, and the second association (S104). The present storage and playback method could store the current environment data based on position and time.

Abstract: An approach is provided in which an information handling system parses content received from resources based on a user query corresponding to a user. Next, the information handling system selects a set of prioritized content from the parsed content based on a confidence ranking the plurality of parsed content. The information handling system then filters the set of prioritized content based on a learning style of the user and presents a summarized output of the filtered set of prioritized content to the user.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for implementing a technique for searching media objects. In general, in one aspect, the technique includes receiving user input specifying a plurality of reference objects, defining a set of features for them, and combining the features to generate composite reference information defining criteria for search. In general, in another aspect, the technique includes combining object information for a plurality of reference objects to produce composite reference information, comparing the composite reference information to object information for media objects in a collection of media objects, and selecting a media object based upon the comparison.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to restricting electronic activities from being linked with record objects. According to at least one aspect of the disclosure, a method can include accessing, by one or more processors, a plurality of electronic activities, accessing a plurality of record objects of one or more systems of record, identifying an electronic activity of the plurality of electronic activities to match to one or more record objects, determining a data source provider associated with providing access to the electronic activity, and identifying a system of record corresponding to the determined data source provider. The system of record can include a plurality of candidate record objects to which to match the electronic activity. The method can include restricting the electronic activity from being linked with the at least one record object.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for comparing selections of text to show differences between the two selections. The text may be selected from the same source or from two different sources. In one implementation, a system receives a first selection of text for comparison and places the selection in a first buffer. The system receives a second selection of text for comparison and places the second selection in a second buffer. The system compares the first buffer and the second buffer to determine differences and displays the differences. In some embodiments, the system may allow a user to choose two buffers from among a plurality of buffers for comparison.

Abstract: Described are computer-based methods and apparatuses, including computer program products, comprising the steps of, or structure for, storing a plurality of expert profiles in a database, each of the plurality of expert profiles comprising information associated with a person having knowledge in a particular category, subject or topic; receiving search criteria over a network from a query source; selecting at least one of the plurality of expert profiles comprising information that satisfy the search criteria; and transmitting expert profile data for each of the selected expert profiles to the remote search engine, the expert profile data comprising data that defines a displayable representation of a corresponding expert profile, the expert profile data further comprising data that facilitates a client-initiated, real-time communication session over the network with a person associated with the corresponding expert profile.
