Abstract: An occupancy database is in electronic communication with a plurality of location-specific distributed computing entities to maintain real-time update occupancy data for various entities. As those entities relocate from one location to another (e.g., moving from one apartment to another), distributed computing entities associated with both the prior and new location of the entity transmit information to the occupancy database to reflect the changed location for the entity. The occupancy database also maintains communication data for the entities and/or locations associated with the entities, and the occupancy database may share that communication data with authorized mobile/user computing entities to enable communication between those authorized mobile/user computing entities and the particular entity or devices located at the entity's location.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for compiling a database of investor-related data by gathering and linking customer-specific data records from multiple unaffiliated financial institutions, where such data records are coded in such a manner that the database compiler is enabled to link, across data providers and/or time periods, data records that pertain to the same investor without being provided any information that reveals the identity of any investor.

Abstract: A computer-implemented system or process is programmed or configured to use a configuration file to specify one or more tasks to apply to raw ingested data. A task may be a sequence of instructions programmed or configured to format raw ingested data into a dataset in a CSV format. Examples of tasks may include: a parser to parse Cobol data into a CSV, a parser to parse XML into a CSV, a parser to parse text using fixed-width fields to a CSV, a parser to parse files in a zip archive into a CSV, a regular expression search/replace function, or formatting logic to remove lines or blank lines from raw ingested data. In one embodiment, the configuration file may specify a schema definition for a task to use for generating a dataset. In one embodiment, the configuration file may also include one or more access control list (ACL) definitions for the generated dataset. In one embodiment, the building of datasets using the configuration file is automated, for example, on a nightly basis.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein are related to cloning a volume in a file system. In some embodiments, a directory hard link is used to generate a clone of the root node of the volume. In certain embodiments, upon determining that a file or directory of the clone which comprises a hard link to an index node has been modified, a new object directory is generated beneath a root node of the volume. The index node may be added to the new object directory and one or more files and directories in the volume which link to the index node may be updated to contain symbolic links to the index node in the new object directory. In certain embodiments, a copy-on-write operation is performed in order to copy the file or directory and the new object directory to the clone.

The query refers to data. The data includes a plurality of records. Each record comprises a plurality of values in a plurality of attributes. Each record is located in at least one of a plurality of blocks of a distributed file system. Each block has a unique identifier. For each block of the distributed file system, at least one value cluster is determined for an attribute of the plurality of attributes. Each value cluster has a range. Abstract: Apparatuses, methods and storage medium associated with summarization and recommendation of content are disclosed herewith. In embodiments, an apparatus may include a content processing engine to process content. The content processing engine may include a summarization engine to score constituent parts of the content, and to generate a plurality of summaries from a plurality of points of view for the content, based at least in part on the scores of constituent parts. The summaries may be formed with constituent parts extracted from the contents. In embodiments, the apparatus may further include a recommendation engine and/or a user preference learning module.
