  • Patent number: 4787006
Abstract: A magnetic disc cartridge is composed of a pair of upper and lower case members so as to form a hard case to accommodate a magnetic disc therein. An aperture for access of a read-write head to the magnetic disc extends in a radial direction, which aperture is selectively covered by a shutter. The case has a groove on the peripheral edge thereof to receive a shutter actuation pin. The groove extends across the adjoining surfaces of the two case members. A groove portion defined by the lower case member is more enlarged than the remaining groove portion defined by the upper case member so that the shutter actuation pin does not catch in the step between the two groove portions.

  • Patent number: 4775909
Abstract: Magnetic thin films are formed on two base plates in relation to tracks of a recording medium. After a non-magnetic thin film is disposed on the magnetic thin films, the two base plates are joined via the non-magnetic thin film to form a magnetic gap, so that a magnetic head is fabricated. The magnetic head can be mass-produced in a simple process with uniform quality, and offers a small area of the surface opposite to each other in adjacent recording and/or reproducing portions, so that crosstalk is reduced.

  • Patent number: 4768124
Abstract: A cartridge has a flexible pad which is disposed between a Bernoulli plate and a record disk when the cartridge is inserted into the disk drive. The flexible pad prevents ringing as the record disk is rotated against the Bernoulli plate. The cartridge has a slider which is opened when the cartridge is inserted into the drive to expose the record disk for rotation. This slider has a locking mechanism which can be opened only when the cartridge is properly inserted into the drive.

  • Patent number: 4768167
Abstract: A CMOS flip-flop circuit is disclosed which enables a single side pull-down operation for inputting test signals during a test mode and alternately a dual side push-pull operation for inputting data signals during the normal use of the circuit. A pair of inverter circuits selectively feed complementary data signals to opposite sides of a bistable circuit so that the circuit operates in the push-pull manner thereby decreasing the switching time of the flip-flop. A pair of transmission gates, which are coupled to outputs of the inverter circuits, electrically isolate any noise appearing at a data input from the bistable circuit. During a test mode of the flip-flop, a test signal is fed into one side of the bistable circuit and facilitates a single side pull-down operation of the flip-flop. Two such flip-flop circuits are concatenated in a push-pull cascaded connection to provide a shift register latch.

  • Patent number: 4766573
Abstract: A semiconductor memory includes a plurality of cell blocks, a refresh control circuit which sequentially refreshes a plurality of the cell blocks, an access control circuit which accesses a plurality of the cell blocks, and an ECC circuit which is provided in a data path between the access control circuit and the plurality of cell blocks, so that the data which is input from and output to the access control circuit is converted to a predetermined bit converted data (so called code) by the ECC circuit and is stored in the plurality of cell blocks. Accordingly, when the access control circuit accesses the plurality of cell blocks, if the access cannot be carried out for specified cell block which is in a refresh state (that is, a correct data (code) cannot be written to or read from the cell block in a refresh state) the data in the access control circuit side can be reproduced as correct data by the ECC circuit.

  • Patent number: 4760562
Abstract: Voltage converters are arranged in units of columns in a memory device. Each voltage converter is connected to a column decoder. The column decoder receives a column address signal and supplies a column selection signal to the voltage converter. The voltage converters apply a ground level voltage to the source junctions of the drive transistor pairs of the memory cells of the selected columns, and a voltage higher than the ground level voltage to the source junctions of the drive transistor pairs of the memory cells of the nonselected columns so as to decrease power consumption in the nonselected columns as compared with that in the selected columns.
