  • Patent number: 10382338
Abstract: A transfer device operates within a network including a plurality of transfer devices and a control device. The transfer device includes a processor and a network connecting device. The network connecting device receives a packet. When a packet received from any of the plurality of transfer devices does not satisfy a process condition notified from the control device, the processor performs control such that a request message is not transmitted until a specified time period elapses from reception of the received packet. The request message is a message for requesting the control device to notify the transfer device of a process applicable to the received packet. When process information, which is information representing the process applicable to the received packet, has been obtained by the time the specified time period elapses, the processor processes the received packet in accordance with the process information.

  • Patent number: 10374883
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a method and system for facilitating the processing of network data. During operation, the system obtains, at a remote capture agent, configuration information for the remote capture agent from a configuration server over a network. Next, the system uses the configuration information to configure the generation of event data from network packets at the remote capture agent. Upon receiving an update to the configuration information from the configuration server, the system uses the update to reconfigure the generation of the event data by the remote capture agent during runtime of the remote capture agent.

  • Patent number: 10356226
Abstract: A system for communication includes a station, including first and second interfaces having different, respective first and second network addresses on a packet data network, and a terminal, including third and fourth interfaces having different, respective third and fourth network addresses. The station is transmits data to the terminal over a first path directed from the first interface to the third network address, while the terminal transmits second data to the station over a second path directed from the fourth interface to the second network address. First and second TCP proxies are deployed respectively in the station and in the terminal, and are configured to emulate a TCP connection between the station and the terminal by transmitting TCP frames from the station to the terminal only over the first path and from the terminal to the station only over the second path.

  • Patent number: 10326723
Abstract: A system comprises email processing circuitry of a mail transfer agent. The email processing circuitry is configured to receive an inbound email message, and detect, based on parsing of the inbound email message, that the inbound email message is intended for multiple recipients and comprises one or both of: a header which determines that notification objects are to be embedded in corresponding output email messages; and body content which determines that notification objects to be embedded in the corresponding output email messages. The email processing circuitry is configured to generate a plurality of unique notification objects. The email processing circuitry is configured to, in response to the detection, package the inbound email message into the outbound email messages, wherein each of the outbound email messages is intended for only one of the multiple recipients and comprises a respective one of the notification objects.

  • Patent number: 10326731
Abstract: A computing resource service receives a request from a customer to assign a domain name to a computing resource. The computing resource service may submit a query to a domain name system service to determine whether the domain name has been reserved for the customer. The domain name system service may provide an encrypted alias record corresponding to the requested domain name and specifying one or more identifiers of customers for whom the domain name has been reserved. The computing resource service may decrypt the alias record and determine whether the customer corresponds to one of the one or more identifiers within the alias record. If the customer does correspond to one of the one or more identifiers within the alias record, the computing resource service may assign the domain name to the computing resource.

  • Patent number: 10291670
Abstract: A virtual cypher system for providing online real-time performances. The virtual cypher system creates a virtual cypher for providing sequential online real-time performances based on a filtering scheme using customizable user selected features. The virtual cypher system generates a user profile page for each new user, determines whether a virtual cypher exists for a category and performance selection chosen by a user, creates a virtual cypher in conformance with the customizable user selected features when the system determines that a virtual cypher does not already exist for the category and performance selection, and adds the user to a waitlist queue. Further, the virtual cypher system initiates, in sequential order, a content-specific real-time performance corresponding to the performance selection, for each user in the waitlist queue, and transmits received real-time streaming data corresponding to the performance by each user to viewers of the virtual cypher.

  • Patent number: 10291682
Abstract: A device may determine that a received transmission control protocol (TCP) segment includes data for a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) version N stream, where N is greater than or equal to 2. The device may identify, from the received TCP segment, a stream identifier for the HTTP version N stream. The device may determine that a condition is satisfied for releasing one or more TCP segments, associated with the stream identifier, from a TCP reassembly queue. The device may release the one or more TCP segments from the TCP reassembly queue based on determining that the condition is satisfied.

  • Patent number: 10291507
Abstract: Techniques for implementing a virtual tap in a virtual topology are described. A request to tap a particular link between a set of virtual topology entities (VTEs) is received. The particular link between the set of VTEs is mapped to a link between a set of instantiated entities in a physical topology. One of the instantiated elements implements a tapping function. Additionally or alternatively, a tapping element is instantiated and the tapping element implements the tapping function. The tapping element is not one of the set of instantiated entities. The tapping function includes: applying a tap filter to a set of data; replicating the data that passes the tap filter; and transmitting the replicated data to a virtual endpoint. The replicated data may be referred to as “tapped data.” A user interface engine presents information regarding the particular link between the set of VTEs based on the tapped data.

  • Patent number: 10277477
Abstract: The current document is directed to a new class of performance-monitoring tools referred as load response performance counters (“LRPCs”). Load response performance counters are implemented to periodically run a task within a computer system in order to apply a specific load to a particular subsystem or component of the computer system and to measure, at intervals, a response time for completing the task. By monitoring the response times, various types of problems, anomalies, and bottlenecks associated with the subsystem or component can be identified and characterized. The design and implementation of particular LRPCs can be precisely tailored to particular components and subsystems at any of many different hierarchical levels, granularities, and temporal ranges in order to monitor system operation and function.

  • Patent number: 10270728
Abstract: A system and method identify first notification data and second notification that notify a user of a message about an activity that is of interest to the user. The system and method send the first notification data to a first client service and the second notification data to a second client service. The system and method receive a read notification indicating that the first notification data sent to the first client service has been interacted with by the user. The system and method update a first read status associated with the first notification data and a second read status associated with the second notification data. The system and method send a modify instruction to the second client service that instructs the second client service to modify the second notification data that has not been interacted to reflect that the first notification data has been interacted with by the user.

  • Patent number: 10263935
Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for defining a message behavior profile for a sender, which may be used to categorize messages from the sender. A message behavior profile may be defined based upon, for example, message distribution behavior of the sender (e.g., volume, frequency, variance in content amongst messages sent to recipients, etc.); recipient interactions with messages from the sender (e.g., message read rates, message response rates, etc.); unsubscription options comprised within messages from the sender; and/or other factors. In this way, the message behavior profile and/or features extracted from a message may be used to categorize a message from the sender (e.g., newsletter, commercial advertisements, alert, social network etc.). Categorized messages may be organized into folders, displayed or hidden within views, and/or processed based upon their respective categorizations.
