  • Patent number: 5377944
Abstract: A flag holder is disclosed which permits display of a flag on a post. There is a sleeve having a central vertical bore and an outer peripheral wall extending around the bore. A pocket is attached to the wall for retaining a flag pole. The holder frictionally engages the post on an inner sleeve wall surface. This is preferably achieved by providing a vertical slot in a side of the sleeve and causing the sleeve to act as flexible jaw.

  • Patent number: 5377918
Abstract: A pulper for the disintegration of cellulose pulp is disclosed in which a vessel containing bales of waste paper or pulp is of a spiral shape with a flat bottom, and a rotor is located in the center of the spiral. Impurities and foreign bodies are driven towards an Archimedes screw located at the outlet from the spiral, which removes them to the exterior. In this final pass this is washed by spray nozzles to recover the carried-over pulp.

  • Patent number: 5373761
Abstract: A method for perforating a sheet material provides for a perforating die located intermediate two orbital rollers. The two orbital rollers move in orbital paths in the same orbital direction at the same speed and in positions which are 180 degrees apart. Each roller acts as a temporary storage input and output in opposite phase from each other so that incoming sheet material is alternately stored and dispensed as a loop on the orbital roller. Since the rollers are out of phase, this permits a segment of the sheet material to be stopped intermediate the orbital rollers so that the perforating die can act on the stopped segment.

  • Patent number: 5368269
Abstract: A brace plate for bracing concrete column forms includes a flexible base and an extension extending at an angle therefrom. The extension has a slot for receiving a tightening strap and holes to receive fasteners for fastening the brace plate to a brace. In use, a plurality of brace plates are disposed around the circumference of a column form so that the bases conform to the outer surface of the column form. The tightening strap is inserted through each of the brace plates and drawn snugly around the column form. Each brace plate is fastened to its corresponding brace in such a way as to allow relative movement between the brace plate and the brace. Once the braces are secured and the column form is aligned, each brace plate is further fastened to each brace so as to prevent relative movement between each brace plate and its corresponding brace.

  • Patent number: 5364049
Abstract: A system is provided for mounting directional antennas on vehicles. The mounting system employs a conventional roof rack as a support base for the antenna mount. In one embodiment, a straight tubular frame member is attachable to the roof rack. An upwardly-extending rotatable shaft extends from adjacent one end of the frame, for supporting the antenna mast, and a downwardly-extending rotatable shaft, supporting a control handle, extends from adjacent the other end of the frame. The rotational movements of the shafts are tied together by a toothed belt which engages sprockets coupled to the shafts. In its preferred form, the control handle includes tactile positioning indicators on its surface which allow the user to sense the direction of the antenna without having to view it. A second embodiment is disclosed which uses a portion of a tubular horizontal bar on a conventional roof rack as part of the support frame of the device.

  • Patent number: 5363925
Abstract: A mobile drilling machine adapted to be mounted on an all-terrain vehicle of the type principally utilized for recreational purposes. Secured to a reinforced rear luggage rack of the vehicle is an equipment supporting plate carrying a drill beam mounted thereto by way of a support bearing. The drill beam is rotatable from a horizontal traveling position to vertical drilling position. The drill beam has, at its lower end, a base plate which is attached to a hydraulic cylinder. At a drill site, the hydraulic cylinder is actuated to lower the base plate to the ground surface. Continued movement of the cylinder lifts the rear end of the vehicle which places a portion of the weight of the vehicle on the drill beam to maintain the position of the drill beam.

  • Patent number: 5357834
Abstract: A miter saw includes a base for placing a work thereon and a miter saw unit supported by a support mechanism relative to the base. The miter saw unit supports a saw blade and a motor for driving the saw blade. The motor has a motor shaft extending in a longitudinal direction of the motor. A transmission mechanism serves to transmit rotation of the motor to the saw blade. The support mechanism supports the miter saw unit in such a manner that the miter saw unit is vertically pivotable and that the miter saw unit is laterally pivotable from a vertical position to an inclined position. The rotational axis of the saw blade extends substantially horizontally when the miter saw unit is at the vertical position, and the rotational axis of the saw blade extends obliquely relative to the horizontal direction when the miter saw unit is at the inclined position. The motor is positioned on one lateral side of the miter saw unit toward the inclined position.

  • Patent number: 5357836
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for retaining knife blades for cutting, perforation or other treatment of a running web, preferably a paper web. The web runs between a rotatable knife-retaining cylinder and a counter pressure cylinder, whereby the knife blade may be wedged up by a wedge device by being brought into the slot by the counter pressure cylinder. In order to permit effective wedging up of knife blades in exact positions in the slot, even when the blades have dimensions which differ from knife blades of the certain defined dimension, the wedge device comprises and/or cooperates with at least one spring disposed beside the wedge device in the slot, upon insertion of a knife blade into the slot for wedging up thereof by the counter pressure cylinder.
