  • Patent number: 7059229
Abstract: An advancing power saw used for any metal cutting application. The power saw is provided with an oscillating mechanism that drives the saw up and down in a vertical direction. A hydraulic cylinder advances the saw toward the metal being cut while the saw is oscillating creating a circular pathway for the saw blade during the cutting operation. A balancing apparatus is provided in association with the saw blade that advances in an opposite direction to that of the saw blade to act as a counterbalance for the saw. The balancing apparatus has a weight provided at one end which dampens the vibrations created by the saw during the cutting operation and substantially equalizes pressure on the saw blade.

  • Patent number: 7059224
Abstract: A blade is used to cut through a film between the panes of laminated glass in the area of a gap produced in the laminated glass the blade is provided on a holding device and can move along the gap. The holding device includes swiveling carrier on which there is a holding part for the blade with a vertical adjustment capacity. The blade is first placed next to the gap on the top of the top pane of the laminated glass. The vertical alignment of the blade is ascertained with a rule for determining the thickness of the laminated glass. Then the holding device is adjusted by a motor such that the blade falls into the gap. When a sufficient immersion depth of the blade into the gap is ascertained via the rule, the film is cut.

  • Patent number: 7059053
Abstract: The blade of a folding knife has a tang portion by which the blade is pivoted to a handle for swinging between an open position and a closed position. In the open position the blade extends from the handle with its sharpened edge exposed for use, whereas in the closed position the sharpened edge is received in a groove of the handle. A locking link is pivotally mounted on the handle for swinging in the same plane as the blade, with a swinging end of the locking link cooperating with a notch in the tang to automatically lock the blade in the open position. The blade can be released for movement to the closed position by manipulation of buttons exposed at the exterior of the handle, which buttons extend transversely from the swinging end portion of the locking link.

  • Patent number: 7055245
Abstract: A nail clipper for pets has a first semi-spherical or semi-elliptical part which is hollowed-out with a circular or elliptical hole with a blade formed on a rim of the hole, and a second semi-spherical or elliptical part having a shape matching the outside of the first part and a blade formed on a rim thereof. By placing the pet's nail in the hollowed-out hole of the first semi-spherical or elliptical part and rotating the second part along the outside of the first part, the blades of the first and second parts come together to cut the pet's nail, producing smooth nail edges cut in a semi-circular shape in a single cutting action.

  • Patent number: 7052385
Abstract: A device for use in the manual sharpening of arrow broadheads, razor blades and the like includes a unique symmetrical clamp and axle assembly having interchangeable, matched pairs of special purpose jaw members for gripping blades of differing configurations. When coupled to the frame, the clamp and axle assembly is freely rotatable, and this free rotation automatically aligns the length of the edge of the blade with the surface of a whetstone. Additionally these rotational and self-aligning capability enable the user to service both sides of the blade's edge with a single blade clamping operation, by manually rotating the clamp 180 degrees between passes along the surface of the whetstone.

  • Patent number: 7051912
Abstract: Article breaking apparatus for mounting on an arm of a suitable vehicle, the apparatus having a pair of hydraulically operated jaws (12, 24), the first jaw (12) of the pair having first and second mutually perpendicular article supporting surfaces (14, 16) and the second jaw having an article engaging surface (26). The jaws (12, 14) are movable about a first pivot axis (22) between an article receiving position in which the first article supporting surface (14) and the article engaging surface (26) diverge away from the first pivot axis (22) and an article breaking position in which said surfaces (14, 26) diverge towards the first pivot axis (22). When an article (82) is located between the jaws (12, 24) and the jaws (12, 24) move from the receiving to the breaking position, the article (82) will be urged towards the second article supporting surface (16) and held there against until broken by the relative movement of the said surfaces (14, 26).

  • Patent number: 7051632
Abstract: A rotary cutting die which is mountable on a metal cylinder. The rotary cutting die includes a rotary die plate having a concave, inner surface which is magnetically attractable and magnetically mountable on a metal cylinder. A cutting blade is mounted on a concave, outer surface of the die plate. Connectors may be engaged with the cutting blade and the die plate. A plurality of magnetic elements, such as neodymium magnets, are in the rotary die plate. The magnetic elements make the inner surface of they die plate magnetically attractable to the metal cylinder, thereby providing that the rotary cutting die is mountable on the metal cylinder without having to use screws, clamps or other mechanical holding devices. To prevent creep of the cutting die during operation, a magnetic member, such as a rubber magnet, may be magnetically mounted on the die cylinder, against the die plate.
