  • Patent number: 9231891
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method that identifies several higher level switching elements for facilitating lower level switching elements to forward packets among network hosts. The method establishes a set of tunnels among the lower level switching elements and the higher level switching elements. At least one tunnel is established between a lower level switching element and a higher level switching element. For each higher level switching element in the several higher level switching elements, the method identifies a first set of forwarding data that specifies forwarding of packets between the higher level switching element and the several lower level switching elements. For each lower level switching element in the several lower level switching elements, the method identifies a second set of forwarding data that specifies forwarding of packets between the lower level switching element, the several of network hosts, and the several higher level switching elements.

  • Patent number: 9225622
Abstract: Echo messaging for operation, administration, and management of a service-based distribution path and associated services are disclosed. Service-based distribution paths or transport tunnels include services mapped or bound to a path associated with the transport tunnel. Echo messaging provides OAM capabilities to monitor the operational state of a service-based distribution path, including determining configuration, connectivity, and other characteristics of the path and associated services that transport data. OAM functions provided by echo messaging enable OAM functions despite service volume along a core network, path or set of paths.

  • Patent number: 9225062
Abstract: Embodiments include systems and methods for allocating time to a plurality of devices in the network of a piconet controller. Embodiments comprise selectively directing a steerable antenna beam of the piconet controller to a plurality of devices in succession during a polling process to receive time allocation requests from one or more of the devices. Subsequent to the polling process, a grant procedure is performed wherein a device is granted permission to transmit in a subsequent time interval. Also during the grant process, one or more devices are instructed to receive from the device granted permission to transmit. The polling process and the grant process occur in the same superframe.

  • Patent number: 9225665
Abstract: The invention is a transaction interface protocol wherein the interface protocol has a transaction identifier signal in each of the request and response channels. It is used between a target network interface unit (NIU) master and an initiator NIU slave that are directly connected through a transaction interface. The target NIU response channel uses the transaction ID signal to identify the entry in a context array associated with the corresponding request. The coupling of target NIU and initiator NIU enable the formation of an on-chip interconnect comprising multiple network-on-chip (NoCs) wherein the topology of the interconnect is simpler, smaller, faster, and has lower latency.

  • Patent number: 9215724
Abstract: In an example of the teachings disclosed herein, there are multiple signaling options available for triggering a bundled transmission by a wireless device, and a known association between the different signaling options and different TTI bundling sizes. A network node thus indicates to the wireless device which TTI bundling size is desired, based on choosing which signaling option it uses to trigger the bundled transmission. Such signaling allows for the use of variable TTI bundle sizes, i.e., dynamic control of the TTI bundle size used by the wireless device for transmission and yet does not impose signaling overhead or necessarily require new signaling messages or types. Higher layer signaling may be used to activate TTI bundling with implicit signaling then used to dynamically control the actual TTI bundle size used.

  • Patent number: 9209993
Abstract: Various embodiments provide session-based filtering to filter messages in a cooperative manner between a client and a service provider. In at least some embodiments, a service provider can establish a messaging session with a client and deliver messages to the client. The client can implement various client-side techniques to filter some of the messages based on various client designated criteria. The service provider can obtain feedback from the client indicative of one or more of the delivered messages that have been filtered. The service provider can dynamically create a session-based list based on the feedback and use the list during the session to block messages on the server-side according to the client designated criteria. When the session concludes, the session-based list can be discarded. In this manner, message filtering can occur without persistent storage of state data for the filtering at the service provider.
