  • Patent number: 8179835
Abstract: Dynamic resource allocation is performed by first generating a plurality of slot sequences. A figure of merit based on weighted interference signal code power (ISCP) and weighted resource units is then generated for each timeslot of each slot sequence. The timeslots within each slot sequence are then arranged in a decreasing figure of merit. The slot sequences are the processed to determine whether they can support the code to be transmitted.

  • Patent number: 8169998
Abstract: Aspects of a system for an ad hoc wireless network with master control of network parameters may include one or more circuits that enable generation of a beacon frame at a supervisory WLAN station wherein the generated beacon frame contains a supervisory role indication. The supervisory role indication enables the supervisory WLAN station to establish timing synchronization and network parameters that are utilized by a plurality of WLAN stations utilized for communicating within a wireless network. Aspects of the system may also include a WLAN station that enables communication via a wireless local area network by utilizing a timestamp value and network parameter values retrieved from a received beacon frame based on the presence of a supervisory role indication within the received beacon frame.

  • Patent number: 8107374
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing generalized link adaptation in an orthogonal frequency-division multiple access wireless communications network can include determining a number of desired resource blocks (RBs) for each user of a plurality of users; calculating a maximal channel gain Gm for each RB of a plurality of RBs; reordering the plurality of RBs based on the Gm; assigning one of the plurality of RBs to the plurality of users one-by-one according to the reordering of the plurality of RBs; determining a priority list for assigning remaining unassigned RBs; assigning the remaining unassigned RBs to the plurality of users based on the priority list; and mapping a symbol or a packet to each assigned RB.
