  • Patent number: 11657211
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for workflow style governance includes creating a document and specifying a document style of the document—either a linear workflow style or a branched workflow style. Thereafter, in response to a subsequent request to load the document, the specified document style for the document may be retrieved and, on condition that the specified document style is a linear workflow style, a specified version of the document is retrieved into a document editor for editing as a new version of the document. But otherwise, on condition that the specified document style is a branched workflow style, different components of the document are retrieved as a composition of components, each of an independent version, and a selected one of the components of the composition of the components making up the document is then loaded into a component editor for editing as a new version.

  • Patent number: 11586803
Abstract: The described technology is directed towards a pre-child user interface element in a user interface tree that draws before the parent element draws, (and thus before any conventional child element of the parent draws). For example, based upon current state data such as whether the parent element has focus, the pre-child may draw a highlight or the like before (so as to be beneath) drawing the representation of the parent element, to indicate the focused state (or and/or other current state or states). The user interface tree maintains a property that it is composable because the parent user interface element code is independent of what any of its pre-child element or pre-children elements do when invoked.

  • Patent number: 11580291
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for resolving date ambiguities in electronic communication documents includes identifying, within the documents, date field values each associated with a different instance of a communication segment. The method also includes resolving a candidate date for each different communication segment instance, with each candidate date being associated with a respective priority level indicative of a level of certainty with which the candidate date was resolved, and determining a final date from among the candidate dates at least by comparing the respective priority levels. The method further includes determining, based on the final date, an ordered relationship between the electronic communication documents, and storing metadata indicating the ordered relationship between the electronic communication documents.

  • Patent number: 11556697
Abstract: Text is intelligently annotated by first creating a topic map summarizing topics of interest of the user. A data structure is created. The topic map is used to create two linked user dictionaries, a topic dictionary reflecting topic names and a traversal dictionary reflecting the knowledge structure of a topic. Actions may be linked with topic types. When the text to be annotated is being read, the topic data structure of the topics found in the text are automatically instantiated using the dictionaries and any actions previously linked to topic types. Instantiated topic data structures are automatically attached to the text being annotated. A user GUI may be created to allow the user to access and interact with the text annotations.

  • Patent number: 11481542
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for enhancing an email application to automatically analyze an email thread and generate a compact content summary. The content summary is based on relative content contributions provided by the constituent email messages in the email thread. The content summary may be presented in a special window without disturbing or modifying the email thread or its constituent email messages. The distinctive content summary disclosed herein comprises certain sentences that are automatically gleaned from the email thread, analyzed relative to other sentences, and presented in a chronological sequence so that the user can quickly determine what the email thread is about and/or the current status of the conversation. The content summary is based on email weights, word weights, and intersecting sentence pairs.

  • Patent number: 11321520
Abstract: Systems and methods for charting images and/or attributes of images associated with a spreadsheet are provided. For instance, when an image is associated with a spreadsheet, the image may be treated as a new type of data within the spreadsheet. In some aspects, a plurality of images may be associated with a spreadsheet, e.g., within a single cell or within a range of cells. In some aspects, the images themselves, as well as image data (e.g., pixelated data, etc.), image attributes (e.g., opacity, color palette, resolution, aspect ratio, image dimensions, author, creation date and/or time, file name, tags, file size, GPS location information, etc.), and/or spreadsheet data (e.g., values in cells, user comments, etc.) may be incorporated into a report (e.g., a chart) using a spreadsheet charting function, either automatically or by user selection.

  • Patent number: 11238754
Abstract: The present invention automatically replaces in an assessment response a string of mathematical symbols determined to be ambiguous with an unambiguous string of mathematical symbols. An editing tool may receive an assessment response from a client over a communication network. The assessment response may comprise i) a text with a mathematical meaning and ii) a string of mathematical symbols. The text and the string of mathematical symbols represent different non-overlapping characters in the assessment response. The editing tool may match the string of mathematical symbols with a known ambiguous string of mathematical symbols and determine the mathematical meaning in the text of the assessment response. The editing tool may replace the string of mathematical symbols determined to be ambiguous with an unambiguous string of mathematical symbols to generate an updated assessment response. The editing tool may transmit the updated assessment response to the client for display.

  • Patent number: 11151327
Abstract: An issue tracking system configured to determine whether an issue request submitted by a user of the issue tracking system can, or should, be subdivided into two or more issue requests. In some implementations, the issue tracking system is configured to extract a content item of the issue request (e.g., title, description, and the like) in order to perform a semantic and/or syntactic analysis of that content item. Upon determining that the content item includes two or more clauses linked by a coordinating, subordinating, or correlative conjunction, the system can provide a recommendation to the user to submit discrete two or more issue requests, each one of which corresponds to a single linked clause of the content item.
