Patent number: 11777754Abstract: The number of persons in a still image acquired during a videoconference may change over time due to movement or persons entering or exiting a conference room. Minimizing the number of person identifiers that are tracked is beneficial for framing purposes. Typically, a stream of frames is sent to a far side, such as another endpoint device, for viewing. If the number of persons identified keeps changing, the composition of the stream of frames will be constantly changing as well. By using person identification and the use of timers, movement by the same person or a temporary change in a number or set of persons may be detected without making changes to the number of identifiers and persons being framed. It is only when a change has persisted past a period of time that changes are made to the frames, thereby improving the overall viewing experience.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 2022Date of Patent: October 3, 2023Assignee: Plantronics, Inc.Inventors: Kui Zhang, Raghavendra Balavalikar Krishnamurthy, Rajen Bhatt

Patent number: 11757826Abstract: A controller can securely publish an application of a tenant by securely extending a network fabric into the networks of the tenant with virtual private networks and NAT. After a tenant deploys an application into one or more networks of the tenant, the tenant can indicate select applications to publish. The network controller assigns a network address from the routable address space of the network fabric to the application and a network address aggregate to each application connector that will front an instance of the application, which securely extends the network fabric into the tenant network. The network controller configures NAT rules in the network fabric and on the application connector to create a route for traffic of the application through the network fabric to the application instance using a fully qualified domain name assigned to the application without exposing a private network address of the application instance and preserving security of other resource on the tenant network.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2022Date of Patent: September 12, 2023Assignee: Palo Alto Networks, Inc.Inventors: Jayant Jain, Brian Russell Kean, Aditya Srinivasa Ivaturi, Mohit Sahni, Mingfei Peng

Patent number: 11729019Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for periodic message transmission. Transmission of messages by the apparatus onto a communication bus are enabled during time ticks. The time ticks are separated by tick time intervals. A plurality of periodic messages configured to be transmitted on the communication bus are identified. Each periodic message has a periodicity that is a multiple of the tick time interval. The periodic messages are sorted by increasing periodicities to generate a sequence of periodic messages. A zero-start-up delay is assigned to a first periodic message in the sequence. A start-up delay is generated for each periodic message in the sequence based on a previous start-up delay associated with a previous periodic message, the tick time interval, and a periodicity of that periodic message. A transmission schedule is generated for the periodic messages based on the start-up delay and the periodicity associated with each of the periodic messages.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2022Date of Patent: August 15, 2023Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventor: Chang Liu

Patent number: 11689434Abstract: An anomaly detector of a Controller Area Network (CAN) bus performs analysis on messages received from the CAN bus to determine if the messages are anomalous. The anomaly detector may be implemented on a vehicle by an Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The anomaly detector may extract a batch of feature vectors for binary messages received from the CAN bus. The anomaly detector then performs a model adaption to adapt a previous probability model with the batch of feature vectors. The adapted probability model is then compared with a universal background model to determine a network anomaly level.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2022Date of Patent: June 27, 2023Assignee: Fleet Defender, Inc.Inventors: Terry Reinert, Tanner Sorensen

Patent number: 11681936Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed to infer, using a machine learned model, a service protocol of a server based on the banner data produced by the server. In embodiments, the machine learned model is implemented by a network scanner configured to receive banner data from open ports on servers. A received banner is parsed into a set of features, such as the counts or presence of particular characters or strings in the banner. In embodiments, certain types of banner content such as network addresses, hostnames, dates, and times, are replaced with special characters. The machine learned model is applied to the features to infer a most likely protocol of the server port that produced the banner. Advantageously, the model can be trained to perform the inference task with high accuracy and without using human-specified rules, which can be brittle for unconventional banner data and carry undesired biases.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2022Date of Patent: June 20, 2023Assignee: Rapid7, Inc.Inventors: Roy Hodgman, Derek Abdine, Thomas Sellers, Prashant Subbarao
