    Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) loopback substrate or printed circuit board (PCB) which contains receive and transmit antennas located on the bottom of the loopback substrate which are aligned with the complementary transmit and receive antennas on an antenna on package (AOP) device under test. The loopback substrate receive and transmit antennas are coupled to each other. The device under test contacts are driven by a conventional tester, which causes RF circuitry in the integrated circuit to drive an AOP transmit antenna. The corresponding loopback substrate receive antenna receives the RF signal from the AOP transmit antenna and provides it to the loopback substrate transmit antennas. The integrated circuit package AOP receive antennas then receive the RF signals from the loopback substrate transmit antennas. The signals at the integrated circuit package AOP receive antennas are monitored through the integrated circuit contacts to monitor the received RF signals.

    Abstract: A two-stage driver supplies current to a light emitting diode (LED) load. The driver includes a first stage and a second stage. The second stage is configured to generate a desired current through the LED load. The second stage has a flyback converter having a flyback transformer with a primary winding and a secondary winding. The primary winding is turned on and off by a gating signal. An induced voltage in the secondary winding rings when a current in the secondary winding is discharged. The flyback converter is configured to turn on the primary winding only during a detected valley in the ringing of the secondary winding. If the primary winding is turned on during a detected valley different from the previous detected valley, a valley jump is detected and the switching frequency is adjusted.

Additionally or alternatively, an inductor may couple the resonating element to the ground traces or other portions of an antenna ground. This inductor may serve to extend the effective length of the antenna resonating element in the cellular low band to compensate for dielectric loading by the rear housing wall, such as in examples where the rear housing wall is formed from zirconia.

    Abstract: A high-power light system includes a lamp for producing light within a designated wavelength range, a chiller for maintaining the lamp below a defined temperature threshold, and a control module for regulating operation of both the lamp and the chiller. In use, the control module selectively overdrives the LEDs to yield high-power light within the designated wavelength range. To prevent overheating within the lamp, the control module restricts the lamp to a pulse-based operational cycle, whereby each period of LED activation is of limited duration and is immediately followed by a period of deactivation at least three times as long in duration as the period of activation. Additionally, one or more temperature sensors are disposed within the lamp and enable the control module to temporarily suspend LED activation when measured temperature levels exceed the defined threshold.
