Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to receive a first command to display a selected portion of an electronic document, wherein the selected portion is indicated by a visible indicator in a selected segment of a segmented scroll bar having a dynamically compressible trough. Further activities may include sending a second command to display a document page having a page number corresponding to the visible indicator, wherein the trough comprises segments corresponding to the pages of the document. Abstract: Systems, methods and products are described that provide homepage re-assignment. One aspect includes displaying a default homepage desktop view from among a plurality of scrollable desktop views; receiving user input via a user input device; opening a homepage re-assignment utility responsive to receiving said user input, said homepage re-assignment utility including a display indicating one or more desktop views selectable as a new homepage; and responsive to receiving a user input indicating a selection of a desktop view as a new homepage, changing a default homepage setting to a desktop view selected as a new homepage. Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for virtual world integration with a collaborative computing application. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for virtual world and collaborative computing application integration can be provided. The method can include loading a virtual world, detecting a posting in a collaborative application, and creating an object with the posting in the virtual world. The method further can include detecting a creation of an object in the virtual world including content, and creating a posting in the collaborative application with the content from the object in the virtual world. In one aspect of the embodiment, creating an object with the posting in the virtual world can include determining a topic for the posting, identifying a place in the virtual world corresponding to the topic, and creating the object in the identified place.

Abstract: An image processing device includes a touch panel, a screen group storage portion, a processor, and a memory. The memory stores computer-readable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the image processing device to perform operations. The operations include determining that it is a switching timing when a predetermined condition is satisfied, and switching a currently displayed screen to a next screen and displaying the next screen on the touch panel, based on screen group information stored in the screen group storage portion, in response to determining that it is the switching timing.

Abstract: A method and apparatus using an on-screen keyboard as an input unit. A method of using an on-screen keyboard as an input unit comprises receiving information on a first key that is selected through the input unit that has fewer input keys than the on-screen keyboard, highlighting a predetermined key in a predetermined group of keys including a number key on the on-screen keyboard that corresponds to the first key, and moving a highlighted portion on the on-screen keyboard when a second key is selected through the input unit.

Abstract: Systems, methods and products are described that provide a dock for favorite applications. One aspect includes providing a dock point on a display device of an information handling device; responsive to user input associated with said dock point, launching a utility organizing a sub-set of user applications installed on said information handling device in a predetermined arrangement of launch points; providing an animated movement of said launch points in said utility responsive to user input; and responsive to user input selecting a launch point in said utility, launching an application associated with said launch point on the information handling device. Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for changing a state of operation of a display system with respect to at least a portion of an image occluded by a non-display surface. In use, a display system is operated in a first state associated with an occlusion of at least a portion of an image resulting from a non-display surface associated with the display system. Additionally, independent of a control panel user interface, a command is received to operate the display system in a second state associated with the occlusion of the at least a portion of the image resulting from the non-display surface associated with the display system. Furthermore, in response to the command, the display system is operated in the second state associated with the occlusion of the at least a portion of the image resulting from the non-display surface associated with the display system.

Abstract: In one example, a method includes receiving a digital note of a plurality of digital notes generated based on image data comprising a visual representation of a scene that includes a plurality of physical notes such that each of the plurality of digital notes respectively corresponds to a particular physical note of the plurality of physical notes, wherein each of the physical notes includes respective recognizable content. In this example, the method also includes receiving user input indicating a modification to one or more visual characteristics of the digital note. In this example, the method also includes editing, in response to the user input, the one or more visual characteristics of the digital note. In this example, the method also includes outputting, for display, a modified version of the digital note that includes the one or more visual characteristics.

Abstract: An approach is provided for presenting soft reminders (e.g., reminders for notes with no triggering criteria). A reminder manager receives an input, from a user, for specifying a note. The note is not associated with triggering criteria. In response to the request, the reminder manager retrieves contextual information from a device associated with the user, and causes, at least in part, presentation of a reminder of the note based, at least in part, on the contextual information.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a computing device renders as a first frame of a video a graphical user interface (GUI) of a software application on the computing device based on a multi-layered-tree representation of the GUI. The computing device modifies the multi-layered-tree representation of the GUI in response to an input or output associated with the GUI. The computing device also renders as a second frame of the video of the GUI based on the multi-layered-tree representation of the GUI as modified.

Abstract: A website construction tool allows website construction via an interactive graphical user interface (GUI) using containers and modules defining predetermined website constructs from a robust assortment of common and popular rendering formats and content source definition for individual webpages, and arranges the individual pages for navigation. A user selects from the predefined constructs by selecting modules for generating code, corresponding to the desired content, source and rendering format. Pointing device positioning locates the on-screen location by generating a container dedicated to the desired content. Webpage structure, or page flow, is generated by insertion of navigation controls and page insertions for navigating between pages in the deployed site, The predetermined constructs, therefore, provide templates of complex rendering formats allowing for content insertion without burdening the user with development of the constructs so rendered.

Abstract: System and methods of presenting multiple contexts, while continuing playback of digital content, such as a digital video, are presented. A user interface (UI) with multiple portions is provided to a user. The digital content is played in the first portion of the UI. The second portion of the UI includes a list of context items associated with the digital content. A user selection of a context item is received and a next context associated with the selected context item is displayed in a next portion of the UI, while playback of the digital content continues.

The electronic content may be displayed on a graphical user interface. The received electronic content may be analyzed to identify characteristics of the electronic content. The received electronic content may be visually related to previously received electronic content on a graphical user interface. The received and the previously received electronic content may be visually related by applying a relationship hierarchy to the identified characteristics.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for providing an application canvas framework which facilitates the manipulation of text and graphics within a web browser. During operation, the system receives a command from a user at a web browser to execute a web-based application. In response to the command, the system loads the web-based application which includes an application canvas framework within the web browser, wherein the application canvas framework provides a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that facilitates the manipulation of text and graphics within the web browser. Note that the application canvas framework can be browser independent and/or platform independent.

Abstract: A mobile terminal and a method of controlling the mobile terminal are provided. The method includes displaying a first screen on a display module; if a pressure-touch input is detected from the first screen, displaying one or more menu items associated with the first screen; choosing one of the menu items according to a level of pressure corresponding to the pressure-touch input; and if a predetermined amount of time elapses after the choosing of one of the menu items, performing an operation corresponding to the chosen menu item. Therefore, it is possible to control various operations performed by the mobile terminal in response to a pressure-touch input.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system that performs automated user-interface layout testing. During operation, the system executes a pre-defined set of operations for a program. After these operations have executed, the system then stores a representation (e.g., a snapshot) of the program user interface. The system then compares this representation against a validated representation that was previously stored for the pre-defined set of operations to determine a difference between the representations. This process facilitates detecting changes to the program (and/or the environment in which the program executes) that affect the user interface that is presented to a user.

Abstract: A computer implemented method displays an object. The method includes causing the display of a context specific shortcut menu in response to a user command. The menu can include a set of functions relating to the context of the displayed object and a set of a predetermined number of the most recently used functions relating to the context of the displayed object. The most recently used functions can be displayed above the other functions.
