Abstract: Techniques for receiving user feedback for an instance of content. Embodiments provide an interface that includes an interactive element through which users can provide feedback for an instance of content. Responsive to a first user interacting with the interactive element, an indication of user feedback from the first user is registered for the instance of content, and the interactive element within the interface is disabled for the first user. Embodiments monitor the instance of content to detect changes to the instance of content. Additionally, upon detecting a change to the instance of content, the interactive element is enabled for the first user, such that the first user can again interact with the interactive element.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for overcoming negative tradeoffs associated with providing remote access to a computer application, such as lack of control over functions of the computer application. Such tradeoffs are overcome by controlling the functions of the computer application provided to a thin client. The functions are controlled by an executable that displays a modified image of a session of the computer application. Specifically, the executable hides particular elements of the session and the limited image is then the image that is provided to a client, as opposed to the client accessing the full functionality of the computer application via remote computing.

When an event to display a screen other than a screen by the Web browser occurs while the Web browser presents a screen display corresponding to the response, the information processing apparatus inhibits an interrupt display by the event in order for the designated priority.

Abstract: In a synchronization or back-up system that synchronizes and/or back-ups files from multiple computing devices, the present invention provides a method for (1) displaying files from multiple computing devices in a multi-view user interface and (2) enabling content and file operations to be performed on such files through the user interface. The multi-view interface includes a file-system view and one or more media-specific views. In the file-system view files are organized in the same way in which they are organized on the devices on which they are stored. The file-system view in the interface looks essentially the same as the file-system view on client devices. In the file-system view, users can perform file operations on files. In the media-specific view files are organized by media category. In one embodiment of the media-specific view, files are organized by metadata that relates to the files content. In the media-specific view, users can perform content operations on the files.

Abstract: A system and methodology for displaying a dynamic, multi-dimensional representation of a database via an internet coupled processor and associated hardware. A browser enabled applet communicates with internet database server(s). Hierarchies of account users are able to program display parameters and view and edit data contained in multiple authorized databases (e.g. financial or investment portfolios). A three-dimensional geometric display (e.g. Cube) is populated with real time position and multi-position group data obtained from available database servers. The system is responsive to user commands to three-dimensionally display the multi-tiered, multi-dimensional data in a presently preferred 3D Cubic form as well rotate the display to other 3D and 2D orientations and to display associated alphanumeric, text and/or 2D graphic data.
Abstract: A digital picture frame has a frame bounding a touch screen that presents a user interface having first and second arcs of selector elements. The first arc of selector elements is manipulable to establish an input genre root, and the second arc is manipulable to select an input branching from a genre root selected using an element in the first group. The arcs are rotatable to reveal previously unpresented selector elements when a person moves a hand along the respective arc.

Abstract: A browsing method capable of performing mutual switching between in-site browsing and in-screen browsing without making a user aware of the switching is provided. Control unit causes superimposed display of a web page and a pointer that moves according to operations on a pointing device 3 and a cross key 4 on display 2 in the in-screen browsing, and changes a region of the web page to be displayed on the display 2 when the pointer moves outside the region. Abstract: Control of the display computer that is the source of display information on a remote viewing session may be passed between the display participant and one or more of the viewer participants using simplified and intuitive controls rather than a more complicated menu-driven system. In one embodiment, the display participant may elect to provide control to a particular viewer participant or to any viewer participant on the session. When a viewer participant has the ability to control the display computer, the pointer shown to the display participant will be changed to notify the display participant. Likewise, color of the mouse pointer shown to the viewer participant will be changed to allow the viewer participant to know that he has the ability to assume control. Tooltips may be used as well to instruct the participants how to assume control.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for an information processing apparatus capable of allowing a user to select appropriate processing beforehand when an application program outputs sound in a state in which an audio device is silenced.
