Abstract: The described embodiments relate to techniques for facilitating text inputs with long-tail keywords from a user in a social question and answer (Q&A) application. During operation, the system receives an input from the user. The system then applies a predictive model to determine a predicted business outcome for the received input from the user. Next, the system renders a user interface (UI) for subsequent user interaction with the social Q&A application, based on the predicted business outcome. Finally, the system displays the rendered UI to the user.

Abstract: The invention relates to the integration of an energy function into a light management system, particularly for saving energy and monitoring energy consumption. According to an embodiment of the invention, a light management system (10) with an integrated energy function is provided, wherein the system is adapted to receiving energy information about light fixtures (12-16) of a lighting system (18), and to processing the received energy information with regard to energy consumption of the lighting system (18). The energy function may be for example used to automatically configure a lighting system to low energy consumption, to allow further configurations of the lighting system with regard to lowering energy consumption, or to provide a user with a sensible set of lights that can be turned off and will amount to significant energy savings when turned off.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mobile terminal that is capable of scrolling through screen information, and a method of controlling the mobile terminal. A mobile terminal according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a main body of the mobile terminal, a display unit that displays a screen image including at least one part of screen information, and a controller that determines a direction in which scrolling-through can be performed on the screen information, based on an input signal applied to the main body, and if the direction in which the scrolling-through can be performed corresponds to a predetermined direction, divides the screen information into screen image units.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a display controller that enlarges or reduces an image within a second area specified in a first area of an image including at least one object at such a display magnification that the image within the second area fits in the size of a display area, thereby displaying the resultant image in the display area, a position storage that stores a position on the image within the second area, and a converter that converts the size of the second area within the first area. When the display magnification is equal to or greater than a threshold, the display controller displays a first symbol at the position in the display area and, when the display magnification is less than the threshold, the display controller erases the first symbol and displays at the position a second symbol for indicating the position in the display area.

Abstract: A for-your-information event can be received in a computer system. The for-your-information event can include an event time field that indicates a scheduled time for the for-your-information event. The computer system may not automatically block the scheduled time of the for-your-information event on a calendar in response to receiving the for-your-information event. User input indicating that the for-your-information event is to be converted to a regular event can be received. In response to the user input, the computer system can convert the for-your-information event to a regular event. Converting the for-your information event can include automatically including the scheduled time of the for-your-information event as a scheduled time for the converted regular event. Also in response to the user input, the computer system can automatically block the scheduled time of the for-your-information event on the calendar.

Abstract: An approach is provided for sending pre-defined workflows to a display device of a user device. In one example, the approach includes receiving a request for steps to complete a task associated with a software application. In response to receiving the request for steps, the system obtains at least a first workflow and a second workflow, each workflow including one or more steps that the user device can execute to complete the task. The system receives a request to format the first workflow and the second workflow into one or more view formats. The system generates a summary of the first workflow and a summary of the second workflow. Each summary includes one or more salient attributes of the each workflow. The system sends to the display device at least the first workflow and the second workflow in the one or more view formats.

Abstract: The electronic content generation and distribution method and system includes designating a written content for audio translation by a narrator and determining the narrator. The method and system provides written content to the narrator to generate an audio narration, receiving the audio narration back from the narrator. The method and system therein assigns a plurality of content identifiers to the audio narration based at least one the written content, accesses a subscriber database including subscriber information and subscriber preference data and electronically compares the plurality of content identifiers to the subscriber preference data to determine a distribution list. The method and system distributes the audio narration to subscribers designated in the distribution list so that the subscriber can engage the audio narration via a content interface, where the content interface is operative to monitor the subscriber engaging the audio narration.

Abstract: Software is provided to handle the playback of media in browsers that in addition may use second display protocols to instruct a separate display device to play the media. The software can transmit the content or specify a network location of the same for subsequent playback on a content playback device. The software may be in the form of a web browser or other application that is configured for the playback of selected media types. The browser maintains a list of favorite and/or recently viewed services and content items and is configured to filter the list to eliminate those content items or services which are no longer available. The handheld mobile terminal may be configured to display a plurality of windows together on a screen. Under an edit mode, the handheld mobile terminals may receive a first instruction from a user of the handheld mobile terminal to adjust a target window of the plurality of windows to any size the user wishes; and adjust the size of the target window according to the instruction.

Abstract: There is provided a method of representing new email messages on a communication device having a display. This method comprises setting a new message flag when an email message is received by the device; and displaying a new message indicator on the display when the new message flag is set. The new message indicator can be displayed on a home screen on the display. The new message flag can be unset when a messages screen is selected on the device. A computer readable memory having recorded thereon instructions to carry out this method is also provided, as well as a device comprising such memory.

Abstract: Methods and systems of dynamically updating content in e-mail messages are described. In some embodiments, an e-mail message is generated. The e-mail message comprises existing content viewable within an e-mail client and is configured to initiate a modification of the existing content within the e-mail message by the e-mail client subsequent to the e-mail message being downloaded by the e-mail client. The modification of the existing content is viewable within the e-mail client. The generated e-mail message is sent to an e-mail account from which a user can view the e-mail message within the e-mail client. In some embodiments, the e-mail message is further configured to cause the e-mail client to obtain new content from a remote server for use in the modification of the existing content within the e-mail message.
