Abstract: Methods and systems for generating and presenting metadata during presentation of a media file are provided. The method includes identifying the media file having content to be played by a media player and identifying metadata. The method associates the identified metadata to specific content of the media file and at a time code of play of the media file. Then, a tag is generated containing the time code and reference to the identified metadata. The tag is linked to the media file, so that the media player identifies the tag during the play of the media file and presents the identified metadata upon reaching the time code of play, along with the presentation of content of the media file. Systems and computer readable media are also provided.

Abstract: Technologies are generally described herein for reshaping a graphical user interface. The graphical user interface may include one or more content elements. An interface design tool may enable users to define one or more borders with respect to the graphical user interface. The interface design tool may also perform a content-preserving warp on the graphical user interface. When the interface design tool performs the content-preserving warp, the interface design tool may preserve a shape and dimensions of any content elements defined by the borders.

Abstract: Reverse metadata viewing by multiple parties, in one aspect, determines one or more second users that share one or more concerns of the first user, enable the first user to select said one or more second users. One or more concerns of said selected one or more second users are determined based on metadata information in electronic artifacts associated with said selected one or more second users. The first user is enabled to explore said one or more concerns of said selected one or more second users.

Abstract: Information related to art is provided in networked computing environments wherein users can participate in public or private online interactive video conferences, chat rooms and other online sessions led by art galleries or art gallery affiliates. User's may switch between public sessions and private sessions when ready to make a transaction related to an art object or artist presented in a public session. In private online sessions, potential consumers may also electronically provide the art gallery pictures, diagrams and photographs of an area in which they are interested in placing certain art objects. An image of the art object is shown within the picture to scale with other objects such as a wall, and angle of view. Users may also see the art objects to scale next to other stock images of familiar reference objects during the online session.

Abstract: A method of providing a user interface for controlling a system (1;27) includes observing a presence of a body or body part of a user in a certain environment of a device (6,14-17;30). At least a perceptible part (28,34) of the user interface is made available to the user in association with a particular functionality for interacting with the system (1;27) controlled by the user interface in dependence on a rate of displacement of the body or body part of the user observed in the certain environment.

Abstract: A method and program for preventing an interrupting action in a computer resource for a full-screen mode or presentation mode of a user application are disclosed. Such a method includes: detecting, for example by a window manager, that a user application is entering into full-screen mode in a display space of the computer resource; transmitting to a target module, for example via a message bus, a mode message indicating that the full-screen mode is being entered; and preventing the interrupting action by the target module. The interrupting action may be a display action in a display space associated with the computer resource. The target module may be an instant messaging application, a screen saver application, a calendar application, a power management application, or a voice communication application.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to queued requests to establish human-to-human collaborative sessions and provide a novel and non-obvious method, system and computer program product for managing queued requests to establish human-to-human collaborative sessions. In one embodiment, a human-to-human collaborative data processing system can be provided which can include a messenger configured for coupling to other messengers. The system further can include a queue of incoming session requests to establish respective human-to-human collaborative sessions with requesters associated with the other messengers. Finally, the system can include queue management logic enabled to order the session requests in the queue according to queue rules coupled to the queue management logic.

Abstract: A system and method involves detecting operational social disruptive events on a global scale, assigning disease event staging and warnings to express data in more simplistic terms, modeling data in conjunction with linguistics analysis to establish responsive actions, generating visualization and modeling capabilities for communicating information, and modeling disease propagation for containment and forecasting purposes.

Abstract: A dashboard manager can be used to create, manage and deploy dashboards. Each dashboard can include one or more user interface elements (“widgets”). The dashboard manager can be invoked for providing a variety of management functions. In another aspect, dashboards, widgets and other content can be bundled together and distributed to users over a distribution channel. Users can created custom bundles using a tool that is provided for such purpose.

Abstract: A service may enable users to store and/or acquire items that are identified from an electronic source without leaving the source. A service may identify items included in content that is available from one or more content providers (e.g., social networking sites, electronic news, product reviews, etc.). The identified items may be matched with specific items available from the service. The service may associate a designator, which may be placed proximate the description of the item in the content that is published by the content provider. A user may select the designator (link, button, etc.) to acquire the item from the service or store information about the item in a user account maintained by the service.

Abstract: Input sources to a display, such as a television, are depicted with a first indicator if active, such as active with a signal having visual information, and are depicted with a second indicator if inactive, such as lacking an active signal. A selection module allows a user of the display to select an active source but precludes selection of an inactive source. For instance, a user is allowed to select highlighted input sources that are active but not allowed to select grayed out input sources that are inactive. An override allows the user to present all input sources with the first indicator, whether or not the input sources are active.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to alert bubbles for alert management and provide a novel and non-obvious method, system and computer program product for contextual alerts for alert management. In an embodiment of the invention, an alert management data processing system can be provided. The system can include an alert bubble configured to display alert text for an associated alert, and contextual information disposed in the alert bubble interface along with the alert text. In particular, the contextual information can provide context for the associated alert.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for dynamically generating a query using touch gestures. A virtual magnet is movable on a display device of a tactile user interface in response to touch. A user selects one of a set of text documents for review, which is displayed on the display. The system is configured for recognizing a highlighting gesture on the tactile user interface over the displayed document as a selection of a text fragment from the document text. The virtual magnet is populated with a query which is based on the text fragment selected with the highlighting gesture. The populated magnet is able to cause a subset of displayed graphic objects to exhibit a response to the magnet as a function of the query and the text content of the respective documents which the objects represent and/or to cause responsive instances in a text document to be displayed.

Abstract: Exemplary systems and methods for user polling are disclosed. An exemplary method includes a service provider subsystem receiving, from a poll provider subsystem, data representative of a poll comprising at least one poll question, transmitting the poll in a first data format to a plurality of translators for translation and distribution to a plurality of access devices associated with a plurality of users and with a plurality of distinct, heterogeneous media platforms, receiving from the plurality of translators, data representative of one or more responses to the at least one poll question provided by one or more of the plurality of access devices, aggregating the data representative of the one or more responses, generating poll results based on the one or more responses, and transmitting data representative of the poll results to the poll provider subsystem and/or the plurality of access devices. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a method for managing and monitoring a graphical top model includes executing the graphical top model. The graphical top model references multiple instances of at least one graphical model. The method also generates a graphical user interface that displays a component from a graphical model. The displayed component is referenced by at least two of the model instances. The graphical user interface displays a current calling hierarchy indicative of a specific model instance that is associated with the displayed component.

Abstract: A system may provide a toolbar in a browser at a client, where the toolbar permits user selection from multiple different services for sharing document content. The system may receive a selection of a first one of the multiple different services from a user via the toolbar and may receive a selection of content of a first document browsed by the user. The system may post the selected content in a second document associated with the first one of the multiple different services.

Abstract: User interface (UI) techniques, and more particularly to graphical user interface (GUI) techniques providing 3-dimensional (3-D) renditions. A method of displaying one or more graphical objects, the method being carried out in an electronic device, the device having processing circuitry, memory and a display device, the method comprising: obtaining first image data, the first image data defining at least one two-dimensional graphical component; performing a transformation operation on the first image data to generate second image data, the second image data defining, for the or each graphical component, a modified form of the graphical component; using said second image data, displaying the modified form whereby the or each graphical component has the appearance of having a component of dimension perpendicular the plane of the display device.

Abstract: A keyboard input method and an assistant system thereof are provided. In the present method, first, an assistant on-screen keyboard program is launched and an input signal is received. Then, if it is determined that the input signal represents an input character, whether the input character leads to an input error is determined according to an input method of an electronic device. If the input character leads to the input error, a keyboard position of the key corresponding to the input character is obtained, and a partial area of an assistant on-screen keyboard is displayed according to the position, wherein the partial area includes the key corresponding to the input character.

Abstract: In menu structure, information is separately displayed on a menu item-by-menu item basis. Therefore, the adoption of menu structure involves inconvenience. (For example, pieces of information under different menu items cannot be viewed at the same time.) A portable information communication terminal eliminates this inconvenience. Information is configured in list structure wherein items (A1, . . . , A5, B1, . . . , B4, B5, B6, C1, . . . , C5, D1, . . . (A to D represent groups.)) are arranged in succession. List information (B5 to C5) which is within a predetermined range (the second precedent line through the fourth subsequent line) from a specific item C1 of a predetermined serial number (top number) in a selected group (group C) is displayed. Since the top item in group C is the specific item, items corresponding to group B are also displayed. Thus, items corresponding to different groups (group B and group C) can be displayed at the same time.

Abstract: An embodiment of a graphical user interface for specifying an item order includes a graphical order generator arranged in a geometric pattern. The graphical order generator may include an order input tool including a category section for displaying a plurality of inter-dependent dynamically filtered category indicators arranged in a sequential and user-modifiable hierarchy, and an option section for displaying a plurality of selectable option indicators associated with a category indicator. The category indicator may include a graphical representation of an active state or incomplete state before selection of an option indicator, and a graphical representation of a complete state after selection of the option indicator.
