Abstract: System and method for performing program-related operations over a network via a web browser. A network connection is established between a server computer and a client computer over a network. A universal resource identifier (URI) is sent from the client computer to the server computer over the network, where the URI indicates a program, e.g., a graphical program (GP), or at least a portion of a graphical program interactive development environment (GPIDE), e.g., a graphical program editor, an execution engine, a static or dynamic analyzer, and/or compiler. The at least a portion of the GPIDE is received from the server computer over the network in response to the URI, and executed in a web browser of the client computer to perform some specified functionality with respect to the GP.

Abstract: A method for removing an icon in a mobile terminal is presented. The method includes, displaying an icon display area and a menu area on a display screen of the mobile terminal, wherein the icon is displayed in the icon display area and a predetermined executing icon menu is displayed in the menu area, selecting the icon, modifying the menu displayed in the menu area to a removing menu when a preliminary removing signal is input on the selected icon, and removing the selected icon in response to the movement of the selected icon to a predetermined area of the removing area.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for user interface navigation. A method includes receiving first input indicating a first cursor navigation direction in a first visual area of a graphical user interface, the first visual area presenting one or more first content type indicators that are destinations for cursor navigation, selecting a next content type indicator based on the first cursor navigation direction and presenting a second visual area such that the next content type indicator is not visible but one or more other content type indicators are visible. The method includes presenting in the second visual area one or more content thumbnails that are destinations for cursor navigation in the second visual area, receiving second input indicating a second cursor navigation direction in the second visual area, and changing the second visual area to include a next content thumbnail based on the second cursor navigation direction.

Abstract: Communicating information through a user platform by representing, on a user platform visual display, spatial publishing objects as entities static locations within a three-dimensional spatial publishing object space. Each spatial publishing object associated with information, and each presenting a subset of the associated information. Establishing a user presence at a location within the spatial publishing object space. The user presence, in conjunction with a user point-of-view, being navigable by the user in at least a two-dimensional sub-space of the spatial publishing object space.

Abstract: Reusing data in user run book automation. An application engages a teaching mode in a web-based graphical user interface (GUI), wherein a collection of selectable portions of the web-based GUI is accentuated. The application records a sequence of selections made among the collection of selectable portions of the web-based GUI as well as data entered within the GUI, where the sequence of selections represent a repeatable user-defined procedure for interacting with the web-based GUI. The application exports and imports data from the sequence of selections made among the collection of selectable portions of the web-based GUI to facilitate replay of the sequence of selections without requiring repeated entry of said data by a user. The application replays the sequence of selections with the web-based GUI.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus is provided including an input assembly. The input assembly includes a graphic display layer, a masking layer, and an input device. The graphic display layer includes a plurality of function icons. The masking layer includes a plurality of function icon windows for displaying functions icons associated with a particular application. Each of the displayed function icons corresponds to a function of the particular application. The input device includes a plurality of input device sections for receiving a gesture input. The graphic display layer is moveable relative to the masking layer such that, based on the relative positioning between the graphic display layer and the masking layer, function icons associated with a particular application are displayed through the function icon windows and the other function icons are at least obscured by the masking layer.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a device displays content on a touch screen display and detects input by finger gestures. In response to the finger gestures, the device selects content, visually distinguishes the selected content, and/or updates the selected content based on detected input. In some embodiments, the device displays a command display area that includes one or more command icons; detects activation of a command icon in the command display area; and, in response to detecting activation of the command icon in the command display area, performs a corresponding action with respect to the selected content. Exemplary actions include cutting, copying, and pasting content.

Abstract: A method is disclosed comprising selecting an action tool from a set of action tools on a screen display of a computer, the action tool being associated with a set of actions including at least two of the following: (1) a printing action, (2) an e-mailing action, and (3) an archiving action, and applying the action tool to an object with a single user command using the computer, the action tool processing the object in accordance with the associated set of actions. A corresponding document output management system also is disclosed.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for navigating between sections in a display space is furnished. The sections in the display space are each assigned to a particular location of the display space, and representatives are provided which are each assigned to a particular section in the display space using an unambiguous relation. The method for navigating includes the following steps: selecting at least one representative that is assigned to a particular section in the display space with the aid of the unambiguous relation; and navigating to the particular section in the display space with the aid of the unambiguous relation with the particular section in the display space.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, an ordered set of display elements may be determined for a user interface display, each display element being associated with a display value. A dynamic display table may be created for the display page, with each cell in the dynamic display table representing a sub-set of the display elements and containing a total of the display values of the display elements in that sub-set. An overall display value may be determined for the user interface page, and a plurality of cells in the dynamic display table may be evaluated to select an appropriate sub-set of display elements based on the overall display value. It may then be arranged for the selected sub-set of display elements to be presented on the user interface display.

Abstract: Techniques for visualization of decision logic are provided. In one aspect, the techniques can be implemented by providing a control within a graphical user interface to a user. The control can display a plurality of graphical user interface elements corresponding to linked nodes within a hierarchical structure. An input identifying a selected graphical user interface element within the control can be generated by a user. A selected node within the hierarchical structure can be identified based on the selected graphical user interface element. In response to a request from a user, modifying an appearance of a subset of the linked nodes within the hierarchical structure based on a desired visualization criteria, the linked nodes within the hierarchical structure and the selected node.

Abstract: A display module displays a first face of a virtual multidimensional solid comprising a plurality of faces. Each face comprises graphical user interface controls for a unique function set. An input module receives a rotational command that rotates the multidimensional solid around at least one axis. A rotation module rotates the multidimensional solid to display a second face in response to the rotational command, displaying the rotation of the multidimensional solid.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided to control a plurality of applications on a computer having a graphical user interface using a control application installed in addition to an operating system of the computer. An object, representing the control application and having a first sensitive area, is displayed within the graphical user interface. A first user input is received at the first sensitive area on the object. A window slides from the object and includes a plurality of icons corresponding to the plurality of applications while the first sensitive area continues to be displayed. A second user input is received in the window corresponding to at least one of the plurality of icons. At least one of the applications is then controlled based on the second user input.

Abstract: A web-browser add-on is described herein that is configured to enable a web browser to present a menu of options with a web page in a web-browser window. The options are determined by various web-surfing characteristics, device information, network-authentication information, or other user-centric information. Users can initiate the menu by selecting an option or hovering a mouse pointer over a portion of the web page. The options are then determined and presented along with the web page to the user.

Abstract: Manipulation of elements in a graphical user interface is aided by allowing the graphical user interface to treat certain mouse button actuation and releases as holding the mouse button in an actuated state. When predetermined conditions are satisfied, the graphical user interface will treat a mouse button actuation and release as if the mouse button were held in an actuated state. A user can then manipulate elements in the graphical user interface as if the user held the mouse button in an actuated state. The types of manipulation can include the moving of a window, the resizing of a window, moving an icon, and the scrolling through the visible portion of a window.

Abstract: An operation image displaying device is provided with a displaying unit configured to display an operation image including operation input areas for inputting operations commands, a pointer displaying unit configured to show a pointer, which points a position on the displaying unit in accordance with an operation of a user, a distance detecting unit configured to detect a distance between the pointer and one of the operation image and the operation input areas.

Abstract: A system and method for displaying, searching, manipulating and modifying of hierarchically linked genealogy data in a relational database on a computer system. A graphic representation of the data in the database is displayed on a computer display device. The system uses zooming, a common function used in computer systems, to show more or less information in the database in readable form. Using the computer pointer devices, the data in the database can be manipulated, added, deleted, or moved. The system allows for changing of the root node individual thereby giving a different view of the database, to zoom in or zoom out and save that view of the database for future reference. The system displays all relationships of the data in the hierarchical structure by use of various sizes and type of lines and positions in the structure and shows for example data further away from the root node individual as a progressively smaller graphical image.

Abstract: A method for editing software objects can include identifying at least one user selection of at least a portion of an electronic document displayed within an application and prompting a user for a target destination to which the user selection is to be posted. A user input specifying the target destination to which the user selection is to be posted can be received and the user selection can be duplicated to the target destination.

Abstract: A method for making one or more digital documents browseable. In one implementation, the digital documents may be automatically, topically segmented into one or more topical segments. A topical segment may be selected from the topical segments. One or more topical segments that are substantially similar to the selected topical segment may be identified. One or more links between the selected topical segment and the identified topical segment may be established. The established links may be displayed.

Abstract: Identity plates are described, including importing identity data into an application, the identity data being used to configure one or more identity elements, configuring an identity plate using the one or more identity elements, and presenting the identity plate within an interface associated with the application, the identity plate being configured to display the one or more identity elements in one or more associated positions configured to receive the one or more identity elements.
