Abstract: In appliances for practicing aquatic sports with water flowing upwardly over a sloping bottom surface a premature breakdown of the flow caused by the accumulation of portions of water slowed down by friction at the boundary faces is prevented by at least partially removing said portions of slowed down water. This can be done by sucking off at least the increasingly portions of slowed down water which are preferably refed to a return pipe of the appliance. A further possibility provides that portions of slowed down water are accelerated by supplying water at an increased flow rate. Suction of the portions of slowed down water as well as the supply of water at an increased flow rate is particularly effected through apertures in the bottom surface in the regions in which the portions of water are particularly slowed down, i.e. above all in the regions in the vicinity of an overflow at the upper end of the sloping bottom surface.

Abstract: A penetration-through-wall magic set comprising a hollow tube opened at the opposite ends thereof and having formed therein a pair of slots opposite to each other with the tube bore between them, a gimmicked panel including a solid piece as wide as the length of the slots in the tube and having an opening smaller than the tube bore, and a solid pliable piece stuck at one end thereof to the solid piece and overlapping the latter, and an object capable of passing through the opening in the solid piece of the gimmicked panel. The solid pliable piece is extended at the free end thereof over the end of the solid piece so that when the solid piece and solid pliable piece are inserted across the tube from one to another of the slots therein, said over-extending end of the solid pliable piece abuts the inner wall of the tube around the slot so as to be freed from the solid piece.
Abstract: A continuous passive motion leg exercise device for rehabilitation of knee motion, hip motion, and ankle motion after trauma or surgery is disclosed. The device includes an elongated base, a thigh support, a lower leg support pivotally connected to the thigh support, and a foot support pivotally connected to the lower leg support. The distal end of the lower leg support and foot support are mounted on a sliding bearing attached to the base. The thigh support is pivotally mounted to a thigh brace at one end. At the other end, the thigh brace engages a threaded drive screw extending from an enclosed motor assembly. The threaded drive screw is also enclosed except where the thigh brace extends through the enclosure. Movement of the thigh brace along the drive screw causes the thigh support, lower leg support, and foot support to move in a knee bending motion. The motor includes a motor cycling device which reverses rotation of the threaded screw.
Abstract: A treadmill includes an endless belt, the uppermost side of which is adapted to form a flat exercising surface. The endless belt is supported at each end of the exercising surface for supporting and allowing the endless belt to move longitudinally.
