  • Patent number: 7460468
Abstract: A method and system are provided for automatically tracking the rerouting of logical circuit data in a data network. Current reroute statistics are automatically generated upon the rerouting of logical circuit data from one or more failed logical circuits to one or more logical failover circuits in the data network. The current reroute statistics include trap data received for the one or more failed logical circuits in the data network. The current rerouted statistics may be automatically updated upon receiving updated trap data for the failed logical circuits and the logical failover circuits in the data network. A table is generated for presenting the current and updated reroute statistics. The updated reroute statistics may be generated upon the restoration of one or more of the failed logical circuits in the data network. A billing report may then be generated following the generation of the updated reroute statistics.

  • Patent number: 7460503
Abstract: A method of beacon rebroadcast for use in a packet-based, centrally-controlled, wireless network includes embedding auxiliary network information in a header portion of a packet transmitted over the network by a central controller; receiving a packet having auxiliary network information therein by a device in the network; rebroadcast, by the device in the network, of the packet having auxiliary network information therein in a predetermined time slot, wherein the predetermined time slot is predetermined by the central controller; and receiving, by a device not already on the network, of the auxiliary network information bearing packet, thereby allowing the device not already on the network to join the network.

  • Patent number: 7453877
Abstract: A method for data traffic transmission on a synchronous digital network to overcome the inefficiency of the data packet transmission on the synchronous digital network equipment. The method includes, adding a RPR processing module after Ethernet interface in the equipment; through the RPR processing module, an uplink Ethernet frame from Ethernet interface being mapped to a RPR frame; through LAPS/PPP/GFP protocol, the RPR frame being mapped into the payload of a synchronous digital network; the volume and number of the VCs and total bandwidth of the RPR being configurable. When the RPR frame arrives at the destination node of the RPR, it is stripped from the RPR and recovered to its original Ethernet frame. The method and device transmit data service efficiently, and the total bandwidth of the RPR is adjustable and is statistically multiplexed.

  • Patent number: 7447167
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing and maintaining a repository of service level test points for network based VPNs is presented. A determination is made regarding whether there is more than one Autonomous System (AS) in a network for one or more VPNs. When there is not more than one AS then next hops are found for the VPN. Next, VPN prefixes associated with the VPN are found and a set of Label Switching Paths (LSPs) in use for the VPN are produced. When the determination is that there is more than one AS then routers in the present AS associated with the VPN are found. VPN label stacks are used to find all Provider Edge (PE) routers associated with the VPN.

  • Patent number: 7406067
Abstract: The present invention discloses a MIMO system and method, which is suitable for MC-CDMA communication system with multiple paths to obtain the spectrum efficiency and gain simultaneously. The transceiver performs steps of simultaneously transferring transmitting data to a plurality of parallel data streams, and space time block encoding each data, followed by spreading the encoded data streams with a pre-designed space-path spreading code, and transmitting data with the transmit antennas through multiple paths. Finally, at each receiver, despreading received data by the matched filters, and separating mutually interfering signals with a linear combiner and a BLAST detector to obtain the diversity gain.

  • Patent number: 7400656
Abstract: There is provided a time stamp correction apparatus for being used in an apparatus which receives a packet including real time data and a time stamp based on network time from a network and reproduces the real time data on the basis of the time stamp, the time stamp correction apparatus including: receiving a first packet including the real time data and a first time stamp; successively generating the network time according to synchronous information input from the network; calculating a difference between time by the first time stamp and the network time; successively generating local time; generating a second time stamp based on the difference and the local time; generating a second packet by adding the second time stamp to the real time data; storing the generated second packet into a buffer unit; and conducting output control on the second packet on the basis of the local time.

  • Patent number: 7394762
Abstract: Disclosed are methods of congestion control in transmission of data in packets over a network link using a transport layer protocol, and transmission methods and protocol systems to implement such methods. The number of unacknowledged packets in transit is less than or equal to a congestion window value cwndi which can be varied according to an additive-increase multiplicative-decrease (AIMD) law having an increase parameter ?i. In embodiments, ?i can be increased during each congestion epoch at a time after the start of a congestion epoch, or based on time since the start of a congestion epoch. In embodiments, a multiplicative decrease parameter ?i can be set based on a characteristic(s) of a data flow(s) carried over the network link. For example, the value of ?i may be set as the value of the round-trip time of data traversing the link or based on the minimum of the mean inter-packet time.

  • Patent number: 7376158
Abstract: A system and method for guaranteeing an upper bound on output jitter while maintaining maximum loop bandwidth. At least a portion of a plurality of transport packets stored in a buffer include a first timestamp value. A first phase locked loop receives a stream of first timestamp values and generates a variable rate timing signal stream that conveys a variation rate and a phase accumulation rate of the stream of first timestamp values to the first loop. A second phase locked loop receives the variable rate timing signal stream and generates a stable rate timing signal stream conveying the average rate of the variable rate timing signal stream. A interval timer is responsive to the stable rate timing signal stream in order to release the transport packets from the buffer.

  • Patent number: 7359406
Abstract: A method of providing for synchronizing one or more synchronous terminals with one or more synchronous endpoints, each synchronous terminal and each synchronous endpoint having an asynchronous communications network coupled between at least one synchronous terminal and at least one synchronous endpoint. A synchronization protocol is established between a synchronous terminal and a synchronous end point by providing a gateway between the asynchronous communications network and the synchronous end point, the gateway communicating with the synchronous terminal over the asynchronous communications network in accordance with the synchronization protocol. The synchronization protocol includes sending a message from the gateway to the synchronous terminal, the message containing a timestamp identifying a clock associated with the synchronous end point.

  • Patent number: 7346079
Abstract: Methods and structures of performing multi-level comma detection and alignment on an unaligned data stream. Each string of N consecutive bits in the unaligned data stream is monitored for a predetermined byte value. When the predetermined byte value is located, the unaligned data stream is aligned with the predetermined byte value, producing a partially aligned data stream. A string of bytes from the partially aligned data stream is then compared with a predetermined sequence of byte values. When the predetermined sequence is located, the partially aligned data stream is aligned based on the location of the predetermined sequence within the partially aligned data stream. The invention also encompasses multi-level comma detection and alignment circuits that can perform, for example, the previously described inventive methods.
