Abstract: A method for controlling the position of an updating agent in a decentralised multi-agent system, the method comprising: identifying a first neighbouring agent within a communicative range of the updating agent; estimating a first distance to the first neighbouring agent and a first direction to the first neighbouring agent; determining a movement direction based on the first direction to the first neighbouring agent; and determining a movement magnitude based on an activation function, the first distance to the first neighbouring agent, and a desired reference distance. The activation function is configured such that the greater the difference between the first distance to the neighbouring agent and the desired reference difference, the larger the movement magnitude. The method further comprises moving the updating agent based on the movement direction and the movement magnitude.

  • Patent number: 11805463
Abstract: A wireless UE wirelessly attaches to a network controller over a source RAN. The UE transfers UE capabilities that comprise a Public Land Mobile Network Identifier (PLMN ID) and transfers a slice request for a network slice type to the network controller over the source RAN. The network controller selects a network slice based on the requested network slice type. The network controller selects a mobility profile that comprises handover criteria based on the requested slice type and the PLMN ID. The UE exchanges user data with a user plane over the selected network slice. The UE determines a handover requirement based on the handover criteria and identifies a set of target RANs. The UE selects one of the target RANs based on the handover criteria and hands over to the target RAN. The UE exchanges additional user data with user plane over the network slice and the target RAN.

  • Patent number: 11798425
Abstract: A base station allocates unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) preambles for use by UAV user equipment (UE) devices that are different from terrestrial preambles allocated for terrestrial UE devices. The UAV preambles can be allocated to different subscription levels, such that each UAV UE device can only use UAV preambles associated with the UAV UE device's subscription level. The UAV UE device transmits random access request message using the selected UAV preamble and the base station responds with a random access response message indicating whether access is granted to the UAV UE device. The base station can dynamically manage access to the base station by limiting the subscription levels that are associated with the UAV preambles.

  • Patent number: 11770752
Abstract: Systems and methods of reducing control plane latency in a 5G IAB network are described. SRs transmitted between nodes indicate that a control plane PDU is to be transmitted. The SRs use periodic resources or OCCs reserved for control plane signaling and are initiated by an RRC message or RACH from the UE. The SRs are initiated if the LCD field in the MAC sub header of the RRC message indicates the CCCH or the DCCH logical channel. If the PDU is available after the original resource, a resource is used that is provided via another grant, which is periodically provided or automatically initiated due to failure to transmit on the original grant. The SR or RRC message can also specify a delayed timeslot for the grant. For contention-based procedures the RACH preamble is randomly selected or selected from among a set of RACH preambles assigned for RRC procedures.

Abstract: A method and system for determining inroute frame timing for a Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) includes receiving an appointment to transmit, on an inroute, at a start of a slot X of a frame number M; establishing, at a VSAT, an arrival time of a super frame numbering packet (SFNP) including a satellite ephemeris vector and a frame number N; calculating, at the VSAT, a timing offset (TRO) to be applied to the arrival time to compensate for a time varying gateway-satellite-terminal propagation delay (THS+TSR); setting a transmit instant as an end of the TRO after the arrival time; adding to the transmit instant a duration of X slots and a duration of (M-N) frames; and transmitting a burst, on the inroute from the VSAT, at the transmit instant. In the method, the calculating is based on computing THS+TSR from the satellite ephemeris vector, a gateway transmits the SFNP and receives the burst in the slot X within the frame number M of the inroute, and N is greater than or equal to M.

  • Patent number: 11722943
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) uses conditional reconfiguration during positioning to improve the positioning performance. The UE receives conditional reconfiguration information from a serving base station, which includes a list one or more candidate target base stations and their associated resources for handover. During a positioning session, the UE receives assistance data and determines a target base station for handover based on the list of candidate target base stations and the assistance data. The UE, for example, may select a candidate target base station for handover during the positioning session to minimize the number of measurements gaps that are required for positioning measurements, or to increase bandwidth or minimize self-interference. Where timing advance measurements are requested, the UE may select a candidate target base station based on sub-carrier spacing to improve measurement resolution.
