  • Patent number: 11343857
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for random access to a communications network by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). In some implementations, the WTRU receives random access response (RAR) configuration information. The WTRU determines a time offset for a RAR window, based on a minimum round trip time (RTT) between the WTRU and a non-terrestrial network device. The WTRU determines a length of the RAR window. the WTRU monitors a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) from the non-terrestrial network device during the RAR window based on the time offset and the length of the RAR window.

  • Patent number: 11323341
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for controlling monitoring operations performed by various devices, e.g., access points, in a communications network and for using information obtained by the devices which perform the monitoring are described. The methods are well suited for use in a system with a variety of access points, e.g., wireless and/or wired access points, which can be used to obtain access to the Internet or another network. An access point, which has been configured to monitor in accordance with received monitoring configuration information, e.g. on a per access point interface basis, captures packets, stores captured packets, and monitors to detect communications failures corresponding to communications devices using said access point. In response to detecting a communications failure, the access point generates, an event failure notification indicating the type of detected failure and sends the event failure notification to the network monitoring node along with corresponding captured packets.

  • Patent number: 11316577
Abstract: Methods are provided for configuring an initial CORESET and associated search space during beam management. A base station (BS) receives measurements of at least one downlink reference signal (RS) from a User Equipment (UE), wherein each of the at least one downlink RS is associated with a transmit beam. The BS selects, based on the received measurements, a transmit beam for transmitting on resources of an initial time and frequency control resource set (CORESET), wherein the initial CORESET schedules unicast Physical Downlink Data Channel (PDSCH) for the UE, wherein the initial CORESET is identified during initial access of the UE to the BS. The BS transmits information relating to the initial CORESET on the selected beam in a Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (MAC-CE), wherein the information is transmitted using a combination of bits in the MAC-CE, the bits configured for indicating CORESETs.

  • Patent number: 11303368
Abstract: A command and control (C2) radio system configured for same-channel out-of-band sensing is disclosed. In embodiments, the radio system (e.g., an air radio system (ARS) aboard an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) or a ground radio station (GRS)) scans its switching back to the appropriate operating frequency before the next subframe starts. The radio system processes the collected energy samples to determine minimum and mean operating frequencies for idle subframes and slots where a preamble is not detected. The radio system uses idle frames to scan sensing frequencies assigned by a central server of the C2 link system, collecting spectral energy sources during the idle timeslots and energy levels, thereby identifying the level of interference on the assigned frequency (e.g., due to noise or interfering signals) and hypothesizes whether the detected interference is tolerable or precludes current use of the assigned signal in the vicinity of the radio system.

  • Patent number: 11284329
Abstract: Device detection in networks with mixed mobility devices is discussed. Devices in the network first determine a discovery mode from a plurality of discovery modes, wherein the determining is based on a mobility state of the wireless device. The device identifies a set of resources associated with the determined discovery mode, wherein each of the plurality of discovery modes is provisioned with separate resources. A discovery signal is transmitted using the identified set of resources according to the discovery mode. Thus, devices with higher mobility will generally send discovery signals more often than devices that are static or semi-static.

  • Patent number: 11265194
Abstract: A method and a device in a User Equipment (UE) and a base station used for wireless communication systems that support broadcast signals. The UE receives a first radio signal on a first time-frequency resource. The first radio signal comprises a first RS sequence, RSs in the first RS sequence are mapped from lower frequency to higher frequency in frequency domain, the first time-frequency resource belongs to a first frequency domain resource. The first frequency domain resource comprises K frequency domain sub-resource(s). (A) Position(s) of the K frequency domain sub-resource(s) in the first frequency domain resource is(are) unfixed, RSs of the first RS sequence in a given frequency domain sub-resource are not related to a position of the given frequency domain sub-resource in the first frequency domain resource. Therefore, the UE is able to correctly receive RSs even without knowing the position of frequency domain resources in the system bandwidth.
