  • Patent number: 9554285
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for communication between moving objects (e.g., a train) and land-based systems (e.g., base stations of mobile wireless networks). For example, wireless communication may be established between a train and one or more base stations arranged along a track travelled by the train. In some instances, multiple-input and multiple-output arrays may be configured, comprising antennas of one or more communication relays arranged on the train, and the one or more base stations. Communications may be performed concurrently via multiple communication channels, such as channels of a MIMO arrays, using cooperative communication schemes for example. Channel state information (CSI) may be stored, remotely or locally, such as in a data storage system, and for communicating via the communication channel(s), channel state information may be determined, such as depending on information defining the current location of communication relays used in establishing the channels.

Abstract: A method of troubleshooting a communication service, a troubleshooting tool, and a system are disclosed. Each involves bi-lateral testing of a customer premise equipment in a customer network and a communication service provider router in a communication service provider network. Bi-directional information generated in the bi-lateral testing is stored in a datastore for later retrieval in troubleshooting the customer premise equipment and communication service provider router. User interaction is also stored in the datastore to track customer behavior which can be used alone or in combination with the bi-directional information to monitor performance and/or troubleshoot the customer premise equipment and communication service provider router.

  • Patent number: 9544939
Abstract: A first device associated with an evolved packet core network receives a first update request from a second device associated with the evolved packet core network. The first update request is associated with a communication session previously provided between the first device and the second device, and the first update request is generated based on a voice/video request. The first device generates an update answer in response to the first update request, where the update answer includes a code requesting that the communication session be restored between the first device and the second device. The first device receives, based on the code, a second update request from the second device, where the second update request includes session information associated with the communication session. The first device restores, based on the session information, the communication session between the first device and the second device to create a restored communication session.

  • Patent number: 9532392
Abstract: One or more devices may receive, from a user device via a first communication layer associated with a first network device, a request to add a second communication layer associated with a second network device; generate an instruction, based on receiving the request, to aggregate first data flow and the second data flow, to be provided via the first and second communication layers; and provide, to the second network device and based on generating the instruction, a response to indicate that the one or more devices are prepared to aggregate the first and second data flows. The response may include an instruction to direct the second network device to establish a simultaneous connection with the user device while the user device is connected to the first network device and to establish the connection with the user device via the second communication layer.

  • Patent number: 9521667
Abstract: Disclosed is wireless communication base station equipment in which CCE allocation can be flexibly performed without collision of ACK/NACK signals between a plurality of unit bands, even when wideband transmission is performed exclusively on a downlink circuit. In this equipment, an allocation unit (105) sets up mutually different search spaces for each of a plurality of downlink unit bands, with respect to wireless communication terminal devices that communicate using a plurality of downlink unit bands, and allocates resource allocation information of downlink circuit data destined for the wireless communication terminal devices to CCEs in mutually different search spaces for each of the plurality of downlink unit bands, and an ACK/NACK reception unit (119); extracts a response signal in respect of the downlink circuit data from the uplink control channel associated with the CCE to which the resource allocation information of this downlink circuit data was allocated.

  • Patent number: 9503373
Abstract: A receiving device associates a first one-way function value determined by an operation using a one-way function with a first destination. Next, the receiving device determines a second one-way function value by the operation using the one-way function from identification information stored in the receiving device and element information received from a transmitting device. When the second one-way function value is different from the first one-way function value, the receiving device associates the second one-way function value with a second destination, and returns the identification information to the transmitting device.

  • Patent number: 9485136
Abstract: A network includes multiple routing arcs for routing network traffic to a destination. Each arc comprising nodes connected in sequence by reversible links oriented away from a node initially holding a cursor toward one of first and second edge nodes through which the network traffic exits the arc. Each node includes a network device. The nodes in the arc detect a first failure in the arc. Responsive to the detecting the first failure, the nodes exchange first management frames over a data plane within the arc in order to transfer the cursor from the node initially holding the cursor to a first node proximate the first failure and reverse links in the arc as appropriate so that the network traffic in the arc is directed away from the first failure toward the first edge node of the arc through which the network traffic is able to exit the arc.

  • Patent number: 9485165
Abstract: According to another embodiment of the invention, TWAMP path discovery is performed to determine a sequence of IP addresses of a forward direction TWAMP E2E path to be traversed by two different TWAMP test sessions between a Sender and a Reflector. Then, additional TWAMP test request packets are transmitted for the different TWAMP test sessions; and TWAMP test reply messages are received responsive to respective ones of the TWAMP test request packets. Responsive to the TWAMP test reply messages, a PM is determined that is specific to the different sequences of IP addresses of the forward direction TWAMP E2E paths traversed by the two different TWAMP test sessions.

  • Patent number: 9468000
Abstract: A method, apparatus are described for a cloud based radio access network (RAN). The method may include transmitting a first message from a base station to a user equipment (UE), determining that a second message from the UE is not received by a media access control (MAC) scheduler within a pre-determined time, delaying re-transmission of the first message or transmission of a third message from the base station to the UE, and scheduling other hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes of the UE in intervening sub-frames. The method may include receiving a first message from a UE at a base station, determining that a second message from the base station cannot be constructed within a pre-determined time from delays in receiving assignments from a Cloud, constructing and transmitting the second message to UEs based on assignments received earlier from the Cloud, and suspending an HARQ process associated with other UEs.

  • Patent number: 9462628
Abstract: An apparatus and a method are provided for improving user experience in a multi-radio access bearer (multi-RAB) wireless communication system. After a user equipment establishes a circuit-switched communication link and a packet-switched communication link with a core network, it may receive an indication of an error associated with the packet-switched communication link. Here, if the value of a timer such as the RAB re-establishment timer T314 has a predetermined value (e.g., 0), the user equipment may release the packet-switched communication link, and maintain the circuit-switched communication link. The packet-switched communication link may then be re-established. In this fashion, errors that may occur on the data call need not interrupt a voice call.
