  • Patent number: 9800497
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for OAM in overlay networks. In response to receiving a packet associated with an OAM operation from a device in an overlay network, the system generates an OAM packet. The system can be coupled with the overlay network and can include a tunnel endpoint interface associated with an underlay address and a virtual interface associated with an overlay address. The overlay address can be an anycast address assigned to the system and another device in the overlay network. Next, the system determines that a destination address associated with the packet is not reachable through the virtual interface, the destination address corresponding to a destination node in the overlay network. The system also determines that the destination address is reachable through the tunnel endpoint interface. The system then provides the underlay address associated with the tunnel endpoint interface as a source address in the OAM packet.

  • Patent number: 9794004
Abstract: Suppression of serving cell transmissions directed to second-served UEs may improve channel estimation of a serving cell or a neighbor cell. This may include using scheduling information for second-served UEs to suppress serving cell signals intended for second-served UEs having overlapping MIMO transmissions. Alternatively, this scheduling information may aid in suppressing a serving cell signal for a second-served UE to improve channel estimation of a neighbor cell. Various embodiments described herein, include implementations and techniques to aid channel estimation, and signal scheduling information to a first-served UE to aid in suppression of serving cell signals for second-served UEs.

  • Patent number: 9794903
Abstract: Dynamic, untethered array nodes are frequency, phase, and time aligned/synchronized, and used to focus their transmissions of the same data coherently on a target or in the target's direction, using time reversal or directional beamforming. Information for alignment/synchronization may be sent from a master node of the array to other nodes, over non-RF links, such as optical and acoustic links. Some nodes may be connected directly to the master nodes, while other nodes may be connected to the master node through one or more transit nodes. A transit nodes may operate to (1) terminate the link when the alignment/synchronization information is intended for the node, and (2) pass through the alignment/synchronization information to another node without imposing its local clock properties on the passed through alignment/synchronization information. In this way, an end point node may be aligned/synchronized to the master node without a direct link between the two nodes.

  • Patent number: 9780822
Abstract: Various embodiments implemented on a mobile communication device (e.g., a multi-SIM-multi-active communication device) mitigate degraded transmit performance typically experienced by a lower-priority subscription during a Tx collision event in which a higher-priority subscription receives a shared Tx resource of the mobile communication device to the exclusion of the lower-priority subscription. Specifically, in various embodiments, a processor of the mobile communication device may determine when an upcoming transmission of the lower-priority subscription will collide with a scheduled transmission of the higher-priority subscription (i.e., may determine when a Tx collision event will occur between the subscriptions) and may implement one or more Tx collision management strategies in response to determining that the lower-priority subscription's upcoming transmission will collide with a transmission of the higher-priority subscription, thus improving the lower-priority subscription's overall performance.

  • Patent number: 9774490
Abstract: A system and method for propagating fault information in an Ethernet OAM network having multiple levels of OAM domains. An Alarm Indication and Suppression (AIS) frame is generated by a Maintenance Intermediate Point (MIP) node upon detecting a fault condition in a first OAM domain, which is transmitted to one or more Maintenance End Points (MEPs) of the first OAM domain. Upon receiving the AIS frames, the MEP nodes are operable generate another AIS frame for propagating to an adjacent higher level second OAM domain. Responsive to the AIS frame from the lower level first OAM domain, any alarms caused in the second OAM domain due to the fault condition in the first OAM domain are suppressed.

  • Patent number: 9774543
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for facilitating synchronization of MAC addresses in a fabric switch. During operation, the system divides a number of media access control (MAC) addresses associated with devices coupled to an interface of the switch. The system then computes a checksum for a respective chunk of MAC addresses. In addition, the system broadcasts MAC address information of the chunk to facilitate MAC address synchronization in a fabric switch of which the switch is a member, and to manage the chunks and their corresponding checksum, thereby correcting an unsynchronized or race condition in the fabric switch.

  • Patent number: 9713180
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for efficient signaling between devices. A relay device initiates association with discovery broadcast signals to leaf devices. Each leaf responds with association request signals. After association, the relay periodically sends stay alive signals to the leaf, and the leaf periodically sends link confirmation signals to the relay. If either device fails to send its signal, link breakage is assumed. The leaf device reverts to uplink communication with a base station while searching for another relay. In another embodiment, the leaf foregoes association with a relay, instead forming a device to device (D2D) connection with a relay. A D2D connection is used when the leaf does not expect a link to a relay to be stable enough to justify the association overhead, or when downlink traffic is arriving more frequently than an associated relay is awake. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

  • Patent number: 9699075
Abstract: A network includes routing arcs for routing network traffic to a destination. Each arc comprising nodes connected in sequence by reversible links oriented to direct network traffic to first and second edge nodes through which the network traffic exits the arc. The nodes in the arc detect a first failure. In response, the nodes exchange first management frames to reverse links in the arc so that the network traffic in the arc is directed away from the first failure toward the first edge node of the arc through which the network traffic exits the arc. The nodes detect a second failure in the arc that is spaced apart from the first failure. In response, the nodes exchange second management frames to freeze incoming edges of parent arcs to prevent network traffic in the corresponding parent arc from entering the arc.

  • Patent number: 9681334
Abstract: According to a first aspect there is provided a method of enabling load steering between a 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Radio Access Network (RAN) and a Wi-Fi RAN. The method comprises, at a server, generating overlap information associating one or more cells of the 3GPP RAN with one or more Access Points (AP) of the Wi-Fi RAN, wherein a cell of the 3GPP RAN is associated with an AP of the Wi-Fi RAN if it is determined that the cell overlaps with an area covered by the AP. The server then determines an off-load schedule for a cell of the 3GPP RAN, the off-load schedule indicating when an overlapping AP of the Wi-Fi RAN can reject an attempt by a user terminal to attach to the AP of the Wi-Fi RAN, and sends the off-load schedule to the Wi-Fi RAN.
