Abstract: This application discloses systems and methods for receiving information associated with a first set of processing instructions and presenting a second icon indicating a change in status of data associated with the first set of processing instructions. A user selection of one of a first icon or the second icon may then be received. The selection of the first icon may cause execution of the first set of processing instructions, whereas selection of the second icon may cause execution of a second set of processing instructions.

Abstract: A user interface includes a tactile interface on a client device that allows users to interact with social networking system content in a manner that is optimized for touch screens and mobile devices. The tactile interface allows users to efficiently navigate the social networking system data as well as to capture new content for upload to the social networking system. New content may be captured in a way that allows the user to preview the content in-context.

Abstract: A uniform resource locator (URL) shortener relies on client-side support to embed links to websites into, for example, text messages, emails, tweets, or other forms of microblogging, and that provides additional capabilities. A method may include: recognizing a token indicator; recognizing a token in conjunction with the token indicator; selecting a template corresponding to the token indicator; and executing a process enabled according to the token and the template. Executing an enabled process may include one or more of: generating a URL; generating a URL that is itself a server-based URL shortener, in which the token indicator is substituted for the server-based URL shortener hostname to reduce the character count from that of the server-based URL shortener; displaying information from a destination website of the URL generated from the token and the template; or generating a URL according to a distinctive visual characteristic of the token indicator.

Abstract: During an interaction with a web page, user interface events are recorded and augmented with page layout data from the document object model. An event stream is formed with the page layout data and communicated to an event server. The event server processes the event stream to determine a location at which the events were generated, which can be used to predict an area of a user's attention.

Abstract: A method for a multi-touch gesture-based user interface wherein a plurality of gestemes are defined as functions of abstract space and time and further being primitive gesture segments that can be concatenated over time and space to construct gestures. Various distinct subset of the gestemes can be concatenated in space and time to construct a distinct gestures. Real-time multi-touch gesture-based information provided by user interface is processed to at least a recognized sequence of specific gestemes and that the sequence of gestemes that the user's execution a gesture has been completed. The specific gesture rendered by the user is recognized according to the sequence of gestemes. Many additional features are then provided from this foundation, including gesture grammars, structured-meaning gesture-lexicon, context, and the use of gesture prosody.

Abstract: A method for managing an e-mail response based on the e-mail domains of the recipients is provided. The method receives a first e-mail sent to a plurality of e-mail addresses that includes e-mails with different domain names, provides a list of different domain names associated with a plurality of e-mail addresses and an e-mail address of a sender of the first e-mail, generates, based on a selection of one or more of the different domain names, a distribution list including one or more e-mail addresses limited to e-mail addresses having a selected domain name, and providing the distribution list in an addressee field associated with the e-mail response.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments disclose controlling of the size and content of a hierarchical visualization by a software component executing on a computer that displays a multi-level hierarchical visualization of nodes including a collapsed sub-hierarchy. The exemplary embodiments include displaying a user interface that enables a user to invoke a contextual search that is contextual to the collapsed sub-hierarchy; responsive to the user invoking the contextual search, receiving search criteria entered by the user; displaying any nodes from the collapsed sub-hierarchy matching the search criteria; receiving a user selection of which ones of the matching nodes from the collapsed sub-hierarchy to show; and displaying a partial rendering of the collapsed sub-hierarchy that shows the selected matching nodes while keeping remaining non-matching nodes hidden.

The interface also displays information about data items, such as the status of a data item in an associated historical record. Controls can be displayed in the user interface, which are linked to the historical records.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing identification tests. In some embodiments, a system and a method are provided for generating and serving to a user an animated challenge graphic comprising a challenge character set whose appearance may change over time. In some embodiments, marketing content may be incorporated into a challenge message for use in an identification test. The marketing content may be accompanied by randomly selected content to increase a level of security of the identification test, hi some embodiments, a challenge message for use in an identification test may be provided based on information regarding a transaction for which the identification test is administered. For example, the transaction information may include a user identifier such as an IP address. In some embodiments, identification test results may be tracked and analyzed to identify a pattern of behavior associated with a user identifier. A score indicative of a level of trustworthiness may be computed for the user identifier.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing an interactive seat map showing locations of available tickets in an event venue are described. A client computer receives, from a network-based system, a base map illustrating locations of sections within the event venue, a coded image map for building a map overlay having a polygon for each section depicted in the base map, and an inventory for an event at the event venue. The inventory provides, for each section, section data that includes available tickets for each section within the event venue. The client computer displays an interactive seat map by loading the base map and building the map overlay on top of the base map so that each polygon of the map overlay aligns with the respective section of the base map. The client computer determines one or more characteristics for each polygon of the map overlay based on the received section data corresponding to each polygon.

Abstract: During an interaction with a web page, user interface events are recorded and augmented with page layout data from the document object model. Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for designating the order in which a plurality of tasks are to be executed on a computer system. In one embodiment, a plurality of task icons, each of which represents a respective one task, are shown in defined positions in a view on the computer system, and these defined positions of the task icons are used to determine the order in which the tasks are to be executed by the computer system. In an embodiment, the task icons are shown in a grid pattern, having rows and columns. Tasks represented by task icons shown in successive rows of the grid pattern are executed in series, and tasks represented by task icons shown in the same row of the grid pattern are executed in parallel. In an embodiment, at least one of the task icons represents an embedded executable workflow folder.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products are described that provide a user interface to a user of a first operating system to enable the user to interact with a second operating system executing in a virtual machine. If the first and second operating systems are in communication in accordance with an operating system remote terminal (OSRT) protocol, such as Remote Desktop Protocol, a first user interface is provided as the user interface. If the first and second operating systems are not in communication in accordance with the OSRT protocol, a second user interface is provided as the user interface.

To interface with these different actuators, the hosting system includes a remote management component (1) that receives a user request from the front-end UI, (2) identifies an actuator that can fulfill the user request, and (3) sends the user request to the identified actuator.

The system accommodates and helps both novice and advanced users.
