  • Patent number: 10735773
Abstract: Techniques for coding video data are described that maintain high precision coding for low motion video content. Such techniques include determining whether a source video sequence to be coded has low motion content. When the source video sequence contains low motion content, the video sequence may be coded as a plurality of coded frames using a chain of temporal prediction references among the coded frames. Thus, a single frame in the source video sequence is coded as a plurality of frames. Because the coded frames each represent identical content, the quality of coding should improve across the plurality of frames. Optionally, the disclosed techniques may increase the resolution at which video is coded to improve precision and coding quality.

  • Patent number: 10701270
Abstract: A light blocking welding helmet having a helmet body with a shell having a head aperture produces an image from at least one (1) exterior camera within the helmet body. The helmet body includes an interior cavity containing an adjustable headband and an internal power source for powering the viewing screen and camera. The camera is mounted on the helmet body. Electrical circuitry is operatively connected to the power source, to the viewing screen, and to the camera such that the electrical circuitry causes the viewing screen to display the image produced by the camera. The image can be transmitted to a remote receiving unit where a weld can be monitored. Multiple cameras may be used and a control switch then selects which camera that will produce an image.

  • Patent number: 10701349
Abstract: A multi-view display is display capable of simultaneously showing different images to viewers that see the display from different locations. Viewers do not see the images intended for other viewers at other locations. A multi-view display forms images via a collection of multi-view pixels, which are the devices that make such image customization possible. A multi-view pixel is able to emit different light in different directions; in each direction, parameters of emitted light such as brightness, contrast, etc., can be controlled independently of the light emitted in other directions. In order for the display to generate good-quality images, it is useful to perform a calibration of the display that will yield accurate information about the relationships of light emitted by multi-view pixels and locations where images are to be made viewable. Embodiments of the present invention provide calibrations that achieve the desired result efficiently and accurately.

  • Patent number: 10681355
Abstract: Disclosed are a describing method and a coding method of panoramic video ROIs based on multiple layers of spherical circumferences. The describing method comprises: first setting a center of the panoramic video ROIs; then setting the number of layers of ROIs as N; obtaining the size Rn of the current layer ROI based on a radius or angle; obtaining the sizes of all of the N layers of ROIs, and writing information such as the center of the ROIs, the number of layers, and the size of each layer into a sequence header of a code stream. The coding method comprises adjusting or filtering an initial QP based on a QP adjusted value and then coding an image. By flexibly assigning code rates to multiple layers of panoramic video ROIs, while guaranteeing a relatively high image quality of ROIs, the code rate needed for coding and transmission is greatly reduced.
