Abstract: A seat belt buckle and tongue combination with means limiting relative motion between the combination frame and the belt or web attached thereto. A roller bar is slidably mounted to the combination frame with the opposite ends of the bar extending into slots on the frame. A pair of helical springs are positioned in the slots to urge the roller bar toward a stop edge on the frame to secure the web against the stop edge and limit relative motion between the web and the roller bar. A pair of clips secure the springs within the slots.

Abstract: A quick connect and disconnect coupling for connecting the free ends of chains, wires or cables and more particularly for connecting the free ends of pieces of jewelry such as bracelets, chain bracelets, neck chains, necklaces and the like. The coupling of the invention comprises a male member having a T-shaped element which is adapted to be introduced into a slotted aperture in the end plate of a female member. A pair of flat springs disposed in the female member engages the branches of the T-shaped element and resiliently rotate the male member such that the projecting lateral ears of the T-shaped element are engaged behind the end plate of the female member. For disconnecting the coupling, the male and female members are rotated relative to each other, against the torque exerted by the springs, until the laterally projecting ears of the T-shaped element registers with the slot in the female member end plate and the male member may be removed from the female member.

Abstract: A harnessing device formed by a locking head and an attached serrated strap with gripper rails. The head contains a guide channel for receiving the strap after encirclement of the items to be harnessed, and an internal locking tang. The serrated strap has side rails which are proportioned to grip the encircled items. The desired gripping action is facilitated by the inclusion of serrations on the rails.

Abstract: A saddle for a U-bolt clamp assembly is disclosed. The saddle is comprised of a single sheet metal member. The member is folded along a line to form a two-layer web portion and a pair of tubular portions. Each of the tubular portions receives a leg of a U-shaped bolt. Each tubular portion is formed of an inner layer of sheet metal which has substantially a 360.degree. circumferential extent and an outer layer bent around the inner layer and which extends around at least a 180.degree. circumferential extent. The outer layer thus serves to hold the saddle in a folded condition without the use of welds.

Abstract: Encircling clamps of a flexible elongated body fitted at a first end with a pair of parallel arms encircling a bay open at their extremities, and at the other end with a tongue that is insertable into the bay. One arm of the bay is a spring having restoring force when flexed away from the other arm, and ratchet teeth on its inner surface extending only part way from the opening to the interior of the bay. The tongue has mating ratchet teeth extending a longer distance so that when the tongue is inserted into the bay it can be adjustably positioned therein while engaging all the ratchet teeth of the spring arm. The closed device can be opened by lifting the spring arm away from the tongue. Means are provided to pull the tongue into the bay.

Abstract: An improved separable fastener composed of two opposed, mating elongated strips with a series of flexible interengaging tongues offset from and in parallel alignment with one of the axes of the strips, and partially overlapping openings in the strips. By placing the strips in opposed abutment and then applying a compressive force, the ends of the opposing mating tongues partially displace each other and then snap into engagement with each tongue being received in the corresponding opening of the opposed strip.

Abstract: The present shackle is especially constructed for securing a wing to the fuselage of an aircraft or of a spacecraft. For this purpose the elements of the shackle intended for taking up pressure and tensile forces as well as the elements providing the necessary structural stability are made of fiber compound materials such as carbon or boron fibers.

Abstract: The cord holder comprises a body with an integrally formed strap arranged to encircle an end portion of an electrical cord and thence be fed through a first slot in the body. By cinching up on the strap, the body becomes a permanent part of the electrical chord. The remaining portion of the strap can be formed into a large loop to engage about multiple windings of the cord when it is wound up for storage. The free end of the strap is then passed through a second slot in the body and hooked over an appropriate projection on the body to thereby hold the cord in its wound configuration.

Abstract: A fastener for bands or the like, particularly on pants, skirts, pockets or the like with a catch rail which is fastened on one band-part on which catch rail a slide can be displaced, the slide being fastened on the other band-part, which slide carries a folding lever, the folding lever continuing under its folding axis passing into a catch projection and having a window-shaped opening for insertion therein of a strip which covers the catch rail and the slide. The slide-side band-fastening point engages on the folding lever.

Abstract: A buckle apparatus for safety belt assembly, comprises a tongue member provided on opposed side edges with notches, a base plate member having a portion where said tongue member is inserted and being formed on the opposed sides thereof with guide grooves substantially perpendicular to the direction of the tongue insertion, a tongue latching means including a pair of tongue latching members, the tongue latching members being slidable along the respective guide grooves of the base plate member in a direction to substantially perpendicular to the direction of the tongue insertion, means for biasing said tongue latching members so that the tongue latching members may engage the respective notches of the tongue member, when the tongue member is inserted into the base plate member, to latch the tongue member, and operable means including cam portions for moving said tongue latching members against the force of said biasing means to unlatch the tongue member.

Abstract: An adjustable clamping device for clamping a pipe or the like of round peripheral shape through peripheral clamping engagement, comprising a driving unit, and only two pairs of members including a movable clamping member to be driven by the driving unit, and yet being provided with the internal self-oscillating arrangement to cause the members to be smoothly interslid and interleaved with each other when the forcibly effecting relative movement of the movable clamping member is effected along a preselected longitudinal line of movement, which can define a clamping array with the adjustment of the clamping members in spaced relationship to the center axis of an object to be clamped, being effected automatically by the adjustment of the movable clamping member with the other clamping members being automatically, relatively guided by the movable clamping member mentioned above into variably spaced relationship to the axis of the object to be clamped.

Abstract: A rope holder includes a body having anchoring means facilitating attachment to a member. The free end of a rope leading from an object to be tied down, is threaded through a first aperture and then a second aperture, both formed in the body. Also formed in body is a V-shaped notch having its wide end in open communication with the second aperture. The rope is pulled tight through the two apertures and then moved laterally out of the second aperture into the slot, where it is wedged to maintain the desired rope tightness.

Abstract: An armored cable assembly for locking cycles and the like comprising a cable with a welded inner fitting at each end surrounded by a metal sheet or conduit, the end of such sheet and said inner fitting extending into a cylindrical recess in each of a pair of outer fittings and being secured therein by a pin extending through said outer and inner fittings, in a direction normal to the axis of said cable. The outer fittings have each a hole through which the shackle of a padlock may be passed for securing the ends of the cable assembly.

Abstract: A clip is provided which is adapted for fastening onto a flexible web such as a sheet of fabric. The clip is particularly adapted for fastening the fabric of a tent to supporting poles or stakes or for fastening webs together.

Abstract: A strap closure comprised of two rectangular rings held together by a common loop of strap, or other material, and a release loop attached to one of the rectangular rings. A mating strap is joined to the ring assembly by threading it through the release loop equipped ring, through and around the second ring, and back through the release loop equipped ring. The closure is opened by pulling the release loop.

Abstract: A rigid wire material clip has its medial portion arcuately curved to form a screw receiving loop for attaching the clip to a vertical surface. The end portions of the clip diverge from the screw loop and are each doubled back upon itself to form a loop, lying in a plane normal to the screw loop, for releasably holding an endless ring, respectively.

Abstract: A fastener of the type in which two arrays of spaced-apart coupling heads are juxtaposed and pressed together, either with or without a slider, so that the heads of one array or row are received in the inter-head spaces of the other row and vice versa, is provided with a pair of spaced apart connecting strands extending the full length of the respective row and integral (unitary) with the coupling heads or their connecting shanks. The strands, molded monolithically with the remainder of the unit, flexibly interconnect the coupling heads and serve as stops for relative lateral movement of the rows upon their interconnection.

Abstract: A plastic buckle adapted to adjustably secure extremities of a web-like material including a frame-like body portion, fastening means at one end of said body portion for fixedly securing the buckle to one extremity of said web-like material and means for adjusting the opposite extremity of said web-like material including at least two transverse parallel bars positioned adjacent the opposite end of said body portion. Abstract: A fastener device particularly intended to secure articles, such as washing, on a washing line. The fastener device comprises a flat gripping section and two arms sections which extend arcuately downwards from the gripping section, in a direction towards one another and such that the arm end portions cross over, whereby between the gripping section and the arms an aperture is formed to accommodate the line and the washing. To secure the washing on the line, the fastener device is fitted over the line and the washing with the gripping section and arms at right angles to the line, whereafter the fastener device is turned over a quarter of a turn, whereby a torsional force is generated in the arms, effecting the securement of the washing.
