Abstract: A sheet material securement, including a base presenting a recessed channel, is provided with an interlocking, material-holding element adapted to be frictionally received within the channel and having a groove extending longitudinally of the element for receiving a bladed tool to provide leverage when inserting the element into the channel. In preferred forms, the groove extends the full length of the element and the tool is configured to be complementally received within a substantial portion of the groove such that the element is not deformed along its length by torque developed during insertion into the channel. The position of the groove is such that its depthwise axis is oblique to the plane of the channel mouth when the element is coupled with the channel for holding the tool remote from the sheet material.

Abstract: A slide fastener with separable end stop members including an insertion member and a reception member each associated with a respective row of coupling elements on a stringer half. The members have complementary offset steps orthogonal to the slide fastener plane to prevent relative displacement of these members when they are interfitted in a direction perpendicular to the slide fastener plane and are mutually engageable. A slider of generally Y-shaped channel configuration can be displaced upon the rows of coupling elements to interconnect and disconnect them. The slider has arcuate slider flanks receiving the insertion and reception members between them and these members have arcuate surfaces corresponding to the curvature of these flanks and engageable therewith. An abutment is provided to enable the coupling element to be drawn over one of these members, namely, the reception member, in a unidirectional manner and preventing withdrawal of the slider in the opposite direction.

Abstract: An improved swivel hook is disclosed which has a tubular body, a swivel, a hook-like portion pivoted to one end of the body, and a locking pipe mounted on the body for limited axial movement. The swivel hook can be locked in the locking pipe simply by pushing it down and can be unlocked by pulling the locking pipe against a spring mounted in the body.

Abstract: A casing hanger for supporting a casing from a casing head within a well bore having a split ring with sealing means attached thereto, a plurality of gripping assemblies supported from the split ring and each of said assemblies including a body with an inwardly facing recess and an exterior surface which tapers downward and inward, to seat in the casing head bowl a plurality of gripping dogs having a generally horizontal gripping edge extending radially inward from the body, and a deformable backing positioned within the space between the outer edge of said dogs and the body recess, the backing partially filling the space behind the dogs and having space into which the backing may move on deformation, the backing providing varying areas in support of each gripping dog and being relatively yieldable.

Abstract: A buckle includes separable cooperating receptacle and clasp members. The receptacle member includes a pair of locking slots formed in opposing sides thereof. The clasp member includes a pair of resilient arms having locking tabs thereon for releasably engaging the locking slots of the receptacle member. The receptacle member also includes a pair of grooves for slidably engaging cooperating raised ridges formed on a central arm of the clasp member for guiding said clasp member during insertion into and removal from the receptacle member. The central arm of the clasp member also includes a pair of laterally extending edges for defining a limit to the inward bending of the resilient arms. The receptacle also includes a belt end termination member including a slide member for adjusting the length of a belt looped around said slide member. The clasp member also includes a base member joining the three arms thereof and including a through slot for terminating a belt end or the like.

Abstract: A paper clip incorporating metal wire inner and outer loops for strength is encapsulated by a resilient material to increase gripping power. In cross section the encapsulation is generally triangular, forming a gripping face and two ramp faces. The ramp faces reduce the likelihood that extra papers will be inadvertently picked up by the clip.

The ring element has four parts or legs defining together an aperture which may be generally rectangular in configuration, the front part being of reduced thickness with the top surface thereof disposed below the plane of the top surfaces of the side parts. The end wall is centrally vertically separated by a V-shaped recess and has a pair of horizontally projecting clamping lugs dimensioned to fit in the clamping recesses in the retaining member.

Piercing a pair of stringer tapes, the two pairs of legs are clinched to engage the usual edge beads of the tapes, with the lower legs maintaining the tape edge beads in spaced parallelism and the upper legs maintaining the beads in close juxtaposition.
