  • Patent number: 9554269
Abstract: Privacy centric feature analysis. A secure set of multiple mapped features is selected and provided to a mobile device. Each mapped feature maps a sharable feature to a matching criterion for an item of protected information and no combination of mapped features for a secure set are unique to an individual item of protected information. Privacy compliance instructions enable the mobile device to select a mapped feature from a received set of mapped features by identifying an item of protected information available to the mobile device which corresponds to a matching criterion found in the received set of mapped features. The sharable feature of the selected mapped feature is identified and sent to a privacy compliant destination. Advantageously, the analysis system protects the privacy of the mobile device user because it does not require the mobile device to relay protected information for the selection of customized content or relevant advertisements.

  • Patent number: 9544758
Abstract: This disclosure relates to caching SIM files at a baseband processor to reduce cellular bootup time. According to one embodiment, a wireless device may read SIM files from a SIM and store a local copy of each file in a cache of the baseband processor of the wireless device. SIM identification information for the SIM from which the cached files were read may be associated with the cache. Indicator information usable for comparing file versions may also be generated and stored in the cache for each file. Upon a subsequent SIM initialization, the wireless device may read SIM files from the cache instead of from the initialized SIM if the cached version is identical to the SIM version, which may be determined based at least in part on the SIM identification information and the indicator information for such files.

  • Patent number: 9544029
Abstract: Cellular array implementations with multiple steerable spotlight beams irradiated from a common aperture are disclosed herein. Such an approach can easily be adapted to suit various geographical population densities and distributions. The array is capable of producing multiple 65-degree cellular coverage beams, which may be used for regular coverage or in MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) mode. The array may also produce multiple steerable beams, or “spotlight” beams. These beams may be relatively narrow and may be steered electronically both in azimuth and elevation directions. By steering the beams in this way, the beams are able to provide cellular services at high-demand “hotspot” regions where high capacity service is required. The spotlight beams may also be used to fill voids or deficiencies caused by regular coverage beams.

  • Patent number: 9519044
Abstract: A computing device can determine an estimated location of a target computing device based on historical signal readings describing wireless communication signals received from the target computing device. A signal reading can include data such as a signal strength value indicating the received signal strength of the wireless communication signal, a timestamp value and a geographic coordinate value indicating the location of a receiving computing device when the wireless communication signal was received. The signal readings can describe wireless communication signals received from the target computing device by one or more receiving computing devices and received during various times. The computing device can calculate the estimated location of the target computing device by triangulating the location of the target computing device based on the geographic coordinate value and signal strength value of three signal readings selected from the set of signal readings.
