  • Patent number: 11819627
Abstract: A hub defines a lumen with a longitudinal axis along the length of the hub. An outer surface of a distal portion of the hub tapers inwardly toward the longitudinal axis as the distal portion extends distally. A strain relief includes a proximal portion configured to receive the distal portion of the hub. The strain relief defines a lumen that substantially aligns with the hub lumen when the proximal portion receives the hub. The hub and/or strain relief are configured to be fixedly attached to a catheter body such that a catheter body lumen substantially aligns with the hub lumen and the strain relief lumen when the strain relief receives the distal portion of the hub. Outer surfaces of the strain relief and hub define substantially similar distances to the longitudinal axis along an interface between the two outer surfaces when the strain relief receives the hub.

  • Patent number: 11806508
Abstract: A fixture for filling a hypodermic syringe includes a vial support and a finger flange support that are substantially coplanar with each other. The vial support holds a vial while the needle of a hypodermic syringe is inserted through the top of the vial. The syringe is then positioned so that the plunger side of one of the finger flanges engages a finger flange support. The finger flange support resists movement of the syringe while the plunger is withdrawn, filling the barrel of the syringe from the vial. The vial and needle are at least partially supported throughout the filling process.

  • Patent number: 11759186
Abstract: Described are means for the direct and continuous connection of a catheter to the lumen of any tubular anatomical structure, or ductus, without medically significant leakage. A port implanted at the body surface with piping to a periductal collar allows drug or radionuclide delivery that bypasses the upstream lumen. The port allows injection, infusion, aspiration, or attachment of an automatic ambulatory pump. A superparamagnetic nanoparticle carrier-bound drug, for example, can be introduced into the lumen to pass downstream until the particles, with or without the drug still bound, are drawn into the lumen wall by a magnetized jacket surrounding the ductus. Such constitutes a method of drug targeting whereby a segment of a vessel or the territory supplied by a branch of that segment can be circumscribed for exposure to the drug. A jacket with side-entry connector positioned in surrounding relation to a lesion requiring treatment can itself be magnetized.

  • Patent number: 11744936
Abstract: In some embodiments, a system can include a fluid delivery assembly and a drive assembly. The fluid delivery assembly is configured to be releasably mechanically and, optionally, electrically coupled to the drive assembly. When the fluid delivery assembly is releasably coupled to the drive assembly, the drive assembly can control delivery of fluid from the fluid delivery assembly (e.g., to a patient). For example, the drive assembly can be releasably coupled to the fluid delivery assembly to control delivery of fluid from the fluid delivery assembly to provide continuous (e.g., non-pulsatile) fluid flow from the fluid delivery assembly.

  • Patent number: 11738129
Abstract: A method for operating a dialysis machine to conduct a dialysis treatment on a patient (e.g., a peritoneal dialysis machine) may include transferring dialysate from a first bag, and automatically determining the dialysate from the first bag has completely transferred. After determining the dialysate has completely transferred from the first bag, switching from the first bag to a second bag of dialysate. The method may further include transferring dialysate from the second bag in response to the detection of the completed transfer of the first bag, and automatically determining the dialysate from the second bag has completely transferred. The method may further include determining if the respective first or second bag has completely transferred by comparing a dialysate bag volume transferred to the patient to a detected volume of the respective first or second bag. Systems with dialysis machines for performing such a method are disclosed as well.
