  • Patent number: 9876727
Abstract: A method for communication includes transmitting a sequence of outgoing data blocks from a network node over a communication link to a peer node, and receiving incoming data blocks from the peer node. A control field is added in a predefined location in each of the outgoing data blocks in the sequence by the network node. In at least a first subset of the outgoing data blocks in the sequence, the control field contains error control information, which is capable of causing the peer node to retransmit one or more of the incoming data blocks to the network node, while in at least a second subset of the outgoing data blocks in the sequence, disjoint from the first subset, the control field contains a flow control instruction, configured to cause the peer node to alter a rate of transmission of the incoming data blocks over the link.

  • Patent number: 9853890
Abstract: A method for communication includes configuring a router to forward data packets over a network in accordance with Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) labels appended to the data packets. At least first and second entries, corresponding to respective first and second labels, are stored in a Next Hop Label Forwarding Entry (NHLFE) table in the router, such that each of the first entries contains a respective pointer to at least one of the second entries. Upon receiving in the router a data packet from the network, a first entry is selected from among the first entries in the NHLFE table and, responsively to the pointer in the first entry, a second entry is selected. The respective first and second labels from the selected first and second entries are pushed onto an MPLS label stack of the data packet.

  • Patent number: 9832236
Abstract: An Internet Protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) network node receives a first collaborative session control signaling from a first wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) for an existing IMS collaborative session between at least the first WTRU and a second WTRU. The first WTRU is the initial controller of the session. • Patent number: 9788210
Abstract: Systems disclosed herein may allocate buffer space using methods, which prevent other resource allocation methods from apportioning the other resources in a way that inhibits system needs from being met. As such, buffer space may be dynamically allocated without impeding other resource allocation by basing the buffer space allocation at least on the traffic priority class that each allocated buffer will handle. Alternatively, buffer space may be dynamically allocated without impeding other resource allocation by basing the buffer space allocation at least on the bandwidth needs of each respective buffer being allocated. • Patent number: 9755803
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and arrangement for transmitting and receiving control information in a radio-access network. A network node transmits first control information in a first part and second control information in a second part of a time-frequency region that is transmitted after a control region in a subframe. The second part is located later in the subframe than the first part. The second control information may be less time-critical than the first control information. An intermediate node receives and decodes the first control information at the end of the first part. When the first control information indicates that the subframe comprises data payload to the intermediate node, the intermediate node receives and decodes the data payload. The intermediate node receives second control information at the end of the second part.

  • Patent number: 9742668
Abstract: In general, this disclosure describes a high-level forwarding path description language (FPDL) for describing internal forwarding paths within a network device. The FPDL enables developers to create a template that describes a section of an internal forwarding path within the forwarding plane of a network device. The FPDL provides syntactical elements for specifying the allocation of forwarding path structures as well as enabling the run-time construction of internal forwarding paths to interconnect the forwarding path structures in a manner specific to packet, packet flow, and/or interface properties, for example. In conjunction with late binding techniques, whereby the control plane of the network device provides arguments to template parameters that drive allocation by the packet forwarding engines of forwarding path structures specified by the FPDL, the techniques provide control plane processes a unified interface with which to manage the operation of the packet forwarding engines.
