  • Patent number: 9125207
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and device for controlling channel transmission. The control method includes: an MAC module receiving a resource configuration message; the MAC module parsing influence information from the resource configuration message, wherein the influence information indicates a radio bearer (RB) resource influenced by resource configuration; and during the resource configuration, the MAC module only pausing the data transmission borne by the RB resource influenced by the resource configuration. By way of the present invention, the RB resource not influenced by the resource configuration during the resource configuration can still carry out normal data transmission, avoiding the waste of RB resources not influenced by the resource configuration during the resource configuration.

  • Patent number: 9118687
Abstract: In some embodiments, an apparatus comprises a core network node configured to be operatively coupled to a set of network nodes. The core network node is configured to receive a broadcast signal from a network node from the set of network nodes, which is originated from a host device operatively coupled to the network node. The broadcast signal is sent via a tunnel from the network node to the core network node, such that other network nodes that are not included in the tunnel do not receive the broadcast signal. The core network node is configured to retrieve control information associated with the broadcast signal without sending another broadcast signal, and then send the control information to the network node.

  • Patent number: 9106581
Abstract: In general, this disclosure describes a high-level forwarding path description language (FPDL) for describing internal forwarding paths within a network device. The FPDL enables developers to create a template that describes a section of an internal forwarding path within the forwarding plane of a network device. The FPDL provides syntactical elements for specifying the allocation of forwarding path structures as well as enabling the run-time construction of internal forwarding paths to interconnect the forwarding path structures in a manner specific to packet, packet flow, and/or interface properties, for example. In conjunction with late binding techniques, whereby the control plane of the network device provides arguments to template parameters that drive allocation by the packet forwarding engines of forwarding path structures specified by the FPDL, the techniques provide control plane processes a unified interface with which to manage the operation of the packet forwarding engines.

  • Patent number: 9060035
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer-readable medium for identifying a subscriber home domain in a communication network are described. A national subscriber profile is partitioned into regions and a NAPTR resource record is modified to identify in which region a particular subscriber is located. In response to a calling party requesting that a connection to a called party be established, a database is queried to provide a modified NAPTR record which identifies the region in which the called party is located. A connection can then be established without polling each region.

  • Patent number: 9049247
Abstract: A proxy server receives from a client device a request for a network resource that is hosted at an origin server for a domain. The request is received at the proxy server as a result of a DNS request for the domain resolving to the proxy server. The origin server is one of multiple origin servers that belong to different domains that resolve to the proxy server and are owned by different entities. The proxy server transmits the request to the origin server. Responsive to determining that the origin server is offline, the proxy server determines whether the requested resource is available in cache. If it is in cache, the proxy server retrieves the requested resource from the cache and transmits the requested resource to the client device.

  • Patent number: 9008043
Abstract: The technical features of this document provide a method and wireless apparatus for performing UE's location area update in a communication system comprising two different radio access network (e.g., E-UTRAN and GERAN/UTRAN). In the communication system, various entities such as MME, VLR, RNC and VLR are included. This document provides a condition when a location area update (LAU) procedure is initiated. In particular, the LAU is performed when the UE which has first performed a combined TAU to the MATE and VLR moves from an E-UTRAN cell to a GERAN/UTRAN cell both belonging to a same location area (LA).

  • Patent number: 9001675
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments increase reliability of communication over a non-deterministic communication channel, in electric power systems. A communication channel is monitored based on regular network traffic, by evaluating messages or data packets carrying real-time operational data as a payload. A permanent determination of a channel quality, including appropriate alarming in case the channel quality is found insufficient, is based on an evaluation, at a receiving node, of data packets continually transmitted by a sending node. These continually or repeatedly transmitted data packets can include identical payloads reflecting current states rather than state changes as operational data.

  • Patent number: 8854997
Abstract: Shortest path routing systems and methods are presented for networks with non-fully meshed vertices or nodes. The systems and methods may include a shortest path routing method in a network with non-fully meshed vertices, a network with non-fully meshed vertices, and a system for implementing the shortest path routing methods. The shortest path routing systems and methods include modifications to the Dijkstra algorithm to more accurately model a network, such as an optical or photonic network. In an exemplary embodiment, the Dijkstra algorithm is modified to represent degrees at a site with an ingress vertex (e.g., a demultiplexer) and an egress vertex (e.g., a multiplexer). In another exemplary embodiment, in addition to representing degrees as ingress and egress vertices, the Dijkstra algorithm is modified to maintain knowledge of previously visited degrees to prevent revisiting a same degree in determining a shortest path.

  • Patent number: 8793352
Abstract: For storage area network configuration across redundant fabrics, a set of redundant fabrics is defined. A fabric is a network between devices of a storage area network. A first fabric communicates with the other fabrics in a set of redundant fabrics to send configuration information. Each redundant fabric examines the first fabric's configuration information for devices to which the redundant fabric is also connected and resolves ports for devices to which the first fabric and the redundant fabric are connected to provide ports on the redundant fabric equivalent to the ports on the first fabric.
